Tam
The winner and runner up have never been knocked out at the group stages before

Jaggernaut
I'm enjoying this World Cup! Delighted for Japan (as I'm currently residing there), and think they'll have a decent crack at it against Paraguay. There have been some superb goals. Can hardly wait for Portugal-Brazil tonight. Japan has quality players, but Okada (manager) made a mistake in not choosing Ogasawara instead of Nakamura who failed at Espanyol after Celtic. uberteeb
That score on Di Natale to win the golden boot doesn't look so clever now, I was sure I'd have £1020 in my account after the final whistle in the final. All my eggs are now in the Argentinian basket.
dougie247
Portugal Brazil should be an epic encounter the one I've been looking forward too! Though im afraid with Portugal's goal difference they might just sit back and we'll get a bore draw.. He failed at Celtic as well. One free kick goal against Man Utd was about all he's had to show for his time there. The guy's a dud.
Ozjag
Was Italian keeper Buffon really that injured? Injured enough to miss a World Cup match? Apparently a herniated disc kept him out. It didn't seem to affect him too much with all his jumping up and down off the bench. Italy needed him the most.

Though im afraid with Portugal's goal difference they might just sit back and we'll get a bore draw.. It should be a fair game, but I fancy Ivory Cost to get a hat full from North Korea. That could get very interesting if Brazil could take the lead. The other one to look out for is Chile to beat Spain. South American teams are doing very well and Europe are struggling. I can easily see Spain following Italy and France.

Portugal v Brazil is this afternoon - worth raising just in case you sit down to watch that game and Switzerland v Honduras appears on tne box :-)
Blackpool Jags
He failed at Celtic as well. One free kick goal against Man Utd was about all he's had to show for his time there. The guy's a dud. To be fair to the guy, though, he was forced to spend an inordinate amount of his time in Scotland rebuffing h*n-derived allegations that his culinary preferences very much included canine delicacies. This couldn't have helped his progress much.
erzamacaroonbars
Had to smile at wee fat Gattuso running around rying to kick everything that moved but failing. If the Italians had put as much effort into creating chances as they did into falling over, they would have won the group easily!

Rid Skwerr
Watched the Italy - NZ game in a hotel bar in Italy. The best bit was the old boy who stood to attention throughtout the interminable Italian anthem.....then sat down and slept through the entire game. He was the lucky one!
