If a coach travelling at 65mph and then at 55mph and takes 3hours. What is the distance travelled? Crikey this is getting to be a bit like being back at school with all this arithmetic.

Hey I haven't even taken in the projected wind factor, road reports, horsepower requirements for Beattock Summit yet.

Think we'll see a few of our trialists on Saturday. Looking forward to that. Remember seeing Sinclair for the first time at Blyth and was impressed with his pace. Fairly obvious even then that we'd probably made a really good signing.

From my real ale swiggin' mole three pubs definitely worth a visit are The Market Tavern, The Half Moon (draft Bass at all times) and The Dun Cow. He usually gives the Shakespearian and the Swan & 3 Cygnets a miss as "too studenty" but I'm guessing that they'll also be fine hostelries out of term.

I've just completed my pub homework - the five you've mentioned plus the Woodman Inn (highest

score of Durham pubs on beerintheevening) are on my itinerary - should be enough to be getting on with.

The Swan & Three Cygnets is a Sam Smith's pub, which usually means a decent pint at a cheap price - it also has a beer terrace, which could be welcome as it's expected to be mid twenties.
