Norgethistle
I've noticed the Kilmarnock Vs Celtic game is cancelled due to Celtic having a winter break in Turkey, now with the other 10 teams playing is this only something Celtic get? They also postponed the St Mirren game earlier in the season so they could play a glamour friendly. Preferential treatment again????
mgow
I understand that all clubs in our league were given the option to do same. However, the market for inviting Scottish based clubs to glamour friendlies is likely to be a very small one, hence the limited up take. Not sure if a friendly is on the cards for that mob this week end. It would make sense if it was as would allow a moan about over crowded fixture list later in season. ;-)
Lambies Lost Doo
Heard we turned down games in Qatar against PSG, Barcelona and Bayern Munich as we wanted to play Ross County instead.
Norgethistle
It should either be a break for all, or a break for none. This just messes up the fixture list for the fans of the teams that were due to play Celtic
ian_mac
Ridiculous that they are allowed to do this.
1 John Lambie
Let them do it, but they should have to split the money they make equally between all the other clubs.
lady-isobel-barnett
I've obviously got this one all wrong. I thought the idea of a mid winter break was to give the other 11 clubs an opportunity to repair their seats.
Yellow & Redneck
Both Rangers and Celtic have been pulling this crap for years. Any sensible football association would have a 2 to 3 week break over December/January from league duty for all SPFL clubs, allowing you to play glamour friendlies if you want without messing up the fixture list. Also the league could start one week later each summer to match the English system, so the OF can play their matches with English clubs. Too sensible? The Sunnylaw Jag
Look on the bright side maybe we'll get more time on Sportscene. Mind you, they'll probably talk about the winter break and how it will benefit Celtic instead.

More likely to cancel sportscene as their favourites aren't playing
David Stevenson
More likely to cancel sportscene as their favourites aren't playing Or make it a special to discuss the performances of Sellick in Turkey and how everything would be so much better if only poor wee Rangers were in the top flight (yawn....). lady-isobel-barnett
I only watched Sportscene last night to count how many times Bonner would place his giant paw on Steven Thompson's thigh. I was disappointed the sum total came to but one playful wee stroke.
