Firhillista
Game ON according to tweet from someone who spoke to a St. Mirren rep. Pitch takes an hour to drain, so as long as the torrential stuff is over, we're good to go.

partickthedog
Just phoned St Mirren. So far as they are concerned, game still on and no plans for any inspection.
Norgethistle
Black & White Army @bawarmy49m Have just spoken to Brian Caldwell at St.Mirren. "Game is currently still on but it is a doubt. Need a break in the rain or struggling"

Be fun though! A play off game, Premiership and Championship games all in one week!!
Trotter
More rain forecast so even if this starts I can't see it finishing. St Mirren's game v Ross Co a boned earlier in season due to waterlogged pitch. Heard I story that the officials will look at the pitch when they arrive at 12.30 though not officially an inspection. The Sunnylaw Jag
Quelle surprise. In fairness to the club website we are now seeing regular daily updates on the club now.
Firhillista
Ref looked at the pitch at 12.15 and said it was playable. Only at risk if it goes back to chucking it down. Met Office forecasting heavy showers for this afternoon. I would guess that the game will at least start. Hearing that the St. Mirren players are raging because they had to cancel their Christmas weekend away for the game - will be intersting to see how they react if we can get the first goal... Guy Incognito
Sky Sports suggesting the Fox could be back in goal. Personally, I am not sure I would drop Gallacher at this juncture, he has done pretty well since coming in.

I do not understand the Christmas weekend point. Surely this game was always scheduled for today?
Firhillista
I do not understand the Christmas weekend point. Surely this game was always scheduled for today? Can't explain it - it's what my St. Mirren contact told me. As he's my boss, I've got to assume he knows what he's talking about! (And pray really, really hard we don't lose today.) ColinKelvin
Thistle: Gallacher, Taylor-Sinclair, Muirhead, Balatoni, Craigen, Bannigan, Mair, McMillan, Taylor, Higginbotham, Erskine subs Fox, O'Donnell, Doolan, Forbes, Lawless, Elliott, Fraser. Balatoni continues to get picked... is Piccolo injured? Again he's not on the bench.
yoda-jag
Team. Gallacher McMillan Mair Balatoni ATS Muirhead Bannigan Erskine Craigen Higginbotham Taylor i'd rarher see aero and conrad swap position, think muirhead would be better beside mair
Garscube Road End
i'd rarher see aero and conrad swap position, think muirhead would be better beside mair I agree, But, what has happened to Piccolo? Not even on the bench again! I read he played for U-20s during week. Out of favour?
read'n'yell
Again don't agree with Archie - I'd of definitely had Fraser in for Balatoni and swap Muirhead into central defence. Fraser/Bannigan is a great partnership. The only way we will win is by playing football - not tryng to match them physically. I feel this team does neither. Hopefully proven wrong.
