  1. I couldnt make the match that day but listened to the match live on the radio and was jumpin about when Jimmy scored the equaliser. I was at the 3-2 defeat at Parkhead....we got nothin that day from the ref....the Cellic goalie went up for a cross come shot and as he caught it he clearly steppd over the line by a couple of feet....linesman was in front of the jungle and sh*t it. we shouldnt have lost that game.
  2. We had most of the possession but Aberdeen did their homework on us. The things that worried me were Osborne....first time I've saw him admittedly....he stops the ball looks around and plays a short ball...no penetration no zip and cant see him going past anyone. He didnt have a stinker...but I dont get the feeling anything is goin to happen when he gets the ball. Would rather have Fraser or Forbes. Most of the posts agree that we will be beaten by more streetwise teams this season so we need to have a plan B as we dont have big men to rumble defences up. On that performance I dont know how Aberdeen got beaten by Hearts. They looked able to stifle and hit on the break and have they have muscle at the back and up front. They looked like they could score when they wanted to. Sorry, but Baird...wont do as a striker. May not have had stinkers of games but at this level I cant see him getting even 3 goals this season. Higgs was great as was Fox..the rest tried and no real failures...it just didnt work today. Stevie you didnt have a bad game but......again 6 or 7 crosses and not one to Jags man...same as the Hearts game....and if he is bursting up the right wing...somebody in the box make a run towards him because if you wait at the back post or even on the penalty spot, the baw isnae goni reach you. Sorry.. a wee bit depressed....it'll pass.....mon the Jags!!!
  3. Dunno how many Jags fans go to games fae Whitburn... masel wife and kids...and ma ma...then a handful of others....about 10 in total probably plus the great Jockie Lambie who's school team photie wi the West Lothian P7 Ross Cup cup sits a few along fi ma photie holdin the same cup a few years later. Originally Glasgow overspill in the 60's but a couple of ma mates are Whitburn lads. it was rotten being the only Jags fan in school then John McNeil came in secondary school for a few years.....awrite John! I really missed havin Jags pals to go to the games wi and have banter after with so just went mostly wi ma Da and Grandpa.
  4. In the 2 seconds it took to open this page my whole life flashed before me...........
  5. Just to reply to the Doolan booking....he got booked but the reason for that was that the ref got it wrong...(hard as that is to believe....)..Doolan was just celebrating and was mobbed by his team mates who took him over to the fans to celebrate...the ref - knob that he was - booked him when it clearly wasnae initiated by Dools....after he was booked you can see him mouthing 'that's unbeleivable man'. Erskine tried to point out that the ref got it wrong but to no avail.
  6. Had a few where I score 3 goals in the last 10 mins against Sevco and Celts.....run up and kiss the badge....alarm clock goes aff and I'm gutted. Best one though...no a dream.....get the baw on the half way line.....meg 3 Rangers players...dummy the goalie...take if back to the half way line chip the baw up and run playin keepie up without the baw hittin the deck and chip the goalie...fans go mental...kiss the jersey etc....next week score a back heeled penalty against Celtic then hit 3 free kicks fae 30 yards...wan burstin the net...wan burstin the baw and wan knockin the whole goal unit doon ti fcuk as it flew past the Celtic goalie!! Big hero in the papers, theres me showin aff ma Jags tattoo etc wi back page headlines and actin aw humble etc....2 days later Barcelona and Man Utd make bids of 40 million for me...papers say who will he choose...I say....sorry but am Jags man through and through.....no seriously says the interviewer.......do I look like am kiddin....But it's millions for you.....made for life......!!! You must be mad to pass this up!! Well when you put me in a straight jacket just make sure it's red and yellow wi black ties......a dont give a monkeys about Barca and Man u....or the money.....am a Thistle man and that's aw I want tae dae....am actually playin for nuthin anyway. Next hame gemme...treated like hero.................wife leaves me..............still, you canny have everythin. (better no say win win or she'll punch each one of ma teeth oot individually). Anyone else care to share their jags fantasies?
  7. Thanks everyone for your kind words about my dad. RIP Neil Duffy.
  8. I would like to take this opportunity to say RIP to my beloved dad Murdie MacNicol who died on 14th May, just over a month ago...a passionate Jags man since 1937....he took me to my first Jags game when I was 6 months old in 1959...a few years later I remember Hainey, McParland, Ewing and Duffy amongst others. Great hazy memories for a wee boy. He and my grandpa gave their great love of Thistle to me. We moved to Whitburn in 1963 and the passion has continued ever since. Thank you dad...I miss you like crazy....we were champions when you died. Me and my sons and daughters will carry the Jags on for the family. Thistle for ever.
  9. I'm thinkin this is getn like a TV soap where the main character is slagged off until the truth is known. People making assumptions and they may or may not be true. I have nothing but contempt for Dundee Hibernian's chairmen etc but I'm gonna wait until Thistle and McNamara's sides of the story come out before I judge. I have to be honest and say JM came over as a decent guy when he was with us...although I don't know him personally. I also have to balance that up by saying I don't think Thistle would have acted in an underhand way. It's not our style. Bottom line..I want Thistle to retain their dignity throughout all this....and for us to annihilate those fkrs on the park next season.
  10. When Harkins left i felt really gutted. I feel the same with Chris. He is a matchwinner. Bannigan, Fox Muirhead Balatoni, Lawless,Welsh etc have had amazing seasons....but Erskine and Doolan really are special. Matchwinners and true gentlemen....they'll never be prima donnas. That's part of the reason the whole team are special and these 2 typify this. Watching Erskine and watching match highlights of him in action....you can actually hear people laughing at his trickery and audacity. The only other sport I know that can make people smile is tennis because of the amazing shots. Chris Erskine had this effect on me....he could do now wrong. He's got this thing where he controls a pass...and before the defender can close him down..his second touch is lightening quick as the defender comits himself.....(see the penalty he got us to unlock the Accies defence to in the 1-0 game and the lead up to the goal he scored before playin a 1-2 wi Doolan against Livi). And the quick feet again to shoot after collecting Sinky's pass at Capplielow. There's no enuff Chris Erskine's in the world....here's to ye big man! By the way....Dools...if you're readin this....PLEASE STAY!!!!
  11. Guy that works beside me at work (United Fan) says to me today 'what's Erskine like?' I said that's like asking me what's your wife like in bed. It's no gonni be good when these fks come t play us next season watchin Erskine on the ball ...I've never wanted to beat a team so much in years..
  12. I defy anyone to be in a situation like that and not react.....it's been a tense game...a lot at stake....we get a penalty in the last minute...crowd all goin bananas....it's no fkn Muirhead's fault it was a penalty so why the **** did those guys goad him.....I mean he misses the pen...feels gutted.....and they are right in his fkn face snarling abuse...I mean right up at his face........what would anyone have done......oh....just walk away...turn the other cheek? Fk that! Ppeople say....'whilst I cant defend him'....well...I am defending him...he's only human.....even Jesus H would have nutted the ******. QOS were a good team on the day....didnae have to resort to gamesmanship. Good day sir !!! I said....good day!!
  13. Whitburn....10 mins in the car....efter me and ma son walkin up Whitburn Main St a few times wi ma scarf and top on......
  14. Started in the stand and ended up behind the goal as we had a bad view.....so didny quite get a perspective of some of the tackles etc. Doolan....was fantastic as were the whole team. I agree Craigen...gains in confidence every game and it's like a new signing. Erskine booked....was the only low....how many is he on now I wonder. Near shat when the free kick hit the bar and Foxy had to block. Wtf was the ref on wi the added minutes? Can't remember the last time we had such a great squad and so many good strikers. If I see Lambie doon the steeet the night I'll buy him a pint!! How many did we bring today....anyone any idea? Over 1000?
  15. I have a soft spot for Dools....I'd be totaly gutted if he left. And although I rate Dools as the more skilful and has more pace....I just cant say that Craig should be left out just now as he is doing the business and. yeah does have more muscle than Dools when it comes to hassling defenders. We are lucky to have both and the rest of the team too. I'm delighted with the team just now as we probably all are. Hopefully, Doolan, Elliot. Craigen and Archie will get a run out over the next few weeks and I dont think any would dissapoint.
  16. Man, what a sad story. Lost for words man.
  17. Plenty of lows....too many to mention. One in particular comes under the 'raging' heading.....but I also remember laughing at the same time. Easter Road...possibly early 90's....wet....uncovered end...was there maself....crap game and they got a sh&tty penalty in the last ten minutes to win. Trudging out as they played out the last few seconds there were a group of schoolboys let in for free at the bottom left hand corner of the stand. They started chanting 'cheerio. cheer-io' as we I was leaving.....this guy behind me shouted....well I better not type it here but it was somethin to do with he was going to get Michael Jackson after them. I was really raging and wet...I looked up at the wee boys and one of the dad's beside them was smiling down at me......I looked up at him, totally p&ssed off.....and I just smiled at him...what else could I do...
  18. Dennis McQuade's against East Fife in a 4-0 drubbing in the top of the table clash. Big crowd that day and Jimmy Bone scored a great hatrick. John Donnelly's outragous volleyed back heel the day we got humped 7-3 by St Johnstone at Firhill. Chris Erskine's run and chipped goal v Falkirk....made all the better by the Falkirk defender tripping as he bumped into the other Falkirk player. Dan McLindon's mazy run....every boy my age ran onto the park to hug him. Chris Erskine's goal v Airdrie s recently. How privealged we were to witness his goals.....also O'Donnell's and Forbes against Dunfy. I could go on and on....finally Albert Craig's goal against Killie when the first shot came off the bar....really important game that night....but what a jump about when he scored.
  19. McGlynn's natural instinct is not to play attacking football.....a lot of Jambos I know say he plays wi wan up the park, The guy disny know how to play attractive fitba. Just remember when Raith came to Firhill. The most Infuruating team I have ever seen at Firhill.....and the fkrs scored wi an elbowed goal. They never opened up and were content to hit on the break. That's his 'style' We'd be just as well digging up Scott Symon and sittin him in the dugout. (nae offence Mr S.)
  20. I was watchin Chris after he scored the 1st goal on Saturday and he was a little subdued...it was better when he scored the second as he stood with his arms out. I dont wanna the guy to be dissillussioned with the eejits shouting and he should know that the silent majority really appreciate him. Thinkn back in particular to the 80's...we had so much rid rotten sh...playin for us...and it's a privelage to watch Chris. He always wants the ball and I dont care if he somethin he does doesnt come off coz the good things he does make up for it. We should think ourselves lucky we have him and am shtn masel in case he goes. I was gutted when Harkins went....and I'd feel the same about Erskine.
