  1. Would be good to see Balatoni and Gallagher sign. With due respect to Archie, and he's a player whose jersey I have sponsored, he's probably had better seasons than the past one. In fact, in some ways, Robbo was a more all-round defender. So I guess I'm saying that we need to have a bit of succession planning in defence. Get those youngsters integrated and playing as a tight unit in front of the Fox-meister!
  2. The staff in Greaves had the big pic on the back of yesterday's ET on the counter at 8.45am. One of them said advance strip given out especially for Pamplona trip. Hats off to them, story seems to be been picked up widely. Mind you the big f*ck off 6 foot bee is just out of shot; that's presumably why he was running so fast?!
  3. A black top would go with the same shorts. I still think black with a pink stripe or trim.
  4. Cantaloupe or Honeydew? This strip could grow on me. Will check it out for real in Greaves on Sat. Note for Mr Heron, they claim to do sizes up to 5XL.

    Puns

I am with Mr Heron, Lenny and BCG Jag on this issue. I posted an informative item about the background to the new Club Secretary a couple of weeks back; she happens to be a Director if a seafood company, so it felt natural and fairly innocent to slip in a fish pun. Mod7 dives in, removes the pun without even the courtesy of a PM or a full explanation. And later the published comment of another poster who describes those who use puns as 'halfwits' goes unchallenged?! Thistle fans have always had a sense of humour. If this Forum is to be moderated in such an inconsistent and heavy-handed way, then you can count me out. A poll about puns? Someone is either having a laugh or taking it all too seriously. I'd advise you to look at the balanced moderation that operated under Liane, FT and previous incarnations of a Thistle Forum.
  6. halfwits, eh Tom.... And your evidence for that assertion is exactly what ? humour is subjective, but I always thought that most Thistle fans were blessed with a sense of humour. Perhaps your earnest and forthright opinions on 'halfwits' with 'pathetic' attempts at humour would be best served within the environs of one of the greater Glasgow teams who tend to take life too seriously ? I would ban people for bile, abuse and bullying on forums; not for the crime of making a pun. Just my opinion.
  7. Interesting, She is listed as a Director of Dawnfresh Seafoods, Uddingston.
  8. You mean you didn't spot that I had nominated you again ?!
  9. CD, that comment of yours reduced me to tears of laughter tonight. Top drawer!
  10. That idea is just the dugs baws... But in another note, what about the idea of footballers being required to wear at least 100 replica strips simultaneously, thus slowing down their reactions and reducing the beautiful game to something more akin to a graceful series of slow ballet moves? Sigesige could supply the tops to kit out an entire Division of teams...
  11. Had a browse on the Jags Trust website, as the organisation has been quiet on here. Last post about their election was in April, nominations closing in May. No further news, no ballot papers by post either. Anyone got an idea what's going on? Who is representing the fans in the Board Room as we face a few weeks when significant news on backroom developments could start to emerge? Maybe I have missed some other threads on here. Jags365, reassure us,..
  12. Sangs for the memories... I wonder if AG Barr is a possibility?
  13. You may have missed the fact that I said the training ground story was a positive. Always look on the bright side of life...

    Ian Maxwell

Maybe because she's starring in the Club video instead ?
  15. Good question, m'lady. Suspect QoS so embroiled in money problems that they are now having to find a more local/low-cost solution. On another note, while the training facility story is a postive one, it doesn't exactly give a resounding vote of confidence in the future of Firhill for anything. Does this mark the continuation of our slow exit to another ground ? Feels a bit like the Club has mentally left the building....
  16. Aye, granted PdiG is the exception to the rule!
  17. Yes good shout there. Conroy has improved even more since he left us; would give some versatility up and down the flanks.
  18. Ditto WIlljag, emailed it by Ami even tho I had let my ST lapse 2010-11. Have now renewed and very much looking forward to resuming seat in JH with great expectations in August of us challenging at the top of the table! Where the expectations will be come December is another matter, but I think it will be better than last winter...
  19. I'd rather take a punt on Gregory Tade.
  20. You could be right, Lenny. So maybe it's a 1971 Cup Final 40th Anniversary home top and a Black away strip with (perhaps) a pink candy stripe ? All pure speculation, mind you... I really liked the first pink & grey away top, much classier than the camouflage nightmare.
  21. Some serious intent from Allan Moore at Morton there. But don't think Queens are exactly setting themselves up for success: no manager, no players, no money.
  22. Last I heard, new home strip will be unveiled end-June. I'm guessing either Retro (c.1971) or something radical and non-Thistle like. New Away strip later in the summer Bloke in Greaves hinted that the Away top will still have some pink in it somewhere Edit to add: Greaves are pushing the Lord Rosebury colours, wonder if that's just a coincidence ?
  23. Feckin magic, that one. Brian would be pleased. Perhaps Jessie could persuade him to take a wee part-time job in the Aitken Suite too? Then when he failed to score against Airdrie in the cup, we could call him a right Bar Steward.... (Gets coat, hat and gloves)
  24. You southsiders, isn't the grass always greener? Try the west end for a bit of reality....but don't go as far as Hamilton, where wild volvos roam on the plains of Lanarkshire !
