  1. Sadly it probably is arrogance. Hard to have sympathy when you see articles like this - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/neil-lennon-parcel-bomber-grins-3691438 Fans are turning on each other too, was reading a story yesterday about a guy going nuts because someone bought his seat at Ibrox, it's like crossing a picket line he said. At least Greens on his way back to sort them out...ooft
  2. Prices should have been the same, regardless of how you bought them. I didn't mind paying the £25 child reservation fee however to charge extra for not being able to use the shabby online system was daft in the the extreme. I had a sh1tmare trying to renew my kids ticket. Didn't work online, so I called and payed over the phone with card. Got told I had pressed wrong button online. A few days later noticed that kids ST hadn't been updated online, so emailed club. Fast + pleasant response however they said there was no notification of payment I had made over the phone. Eh? Eventually managed to pay for it online. If online was easy to use and worked properly then fine, but don't see why they penalised phone renewals. The irony is they probably got more hassle with folk phoning due to the online system not working properly and being difficult to use.
  3. Has anyone managed to renew a kids ST and pay the reservation fee? Managed to renew my ST earlier but have not been able to renew the weans ST in the seat next to me. Tried everything but no worky. Noticed that the ticket site brings up a seat plan when you try to purchase a new ST -
  4. Great goal from Scotland. Hibs fans are singing Celtic songs :-/
  5. Love it! 500 supporters @ £100 might be better though I'm up for that 499 to go 498 if that's cool with you sabbath
  6. Doolan is a hero and well on his way to Jags legendary status if not already.
  7. Managed to get Prince and Radio 1 tickets no problem but have given up trying to renew my season tickets online. I don't think the renewal site has been taken down, it's been left up broken over the holiday weekend. Don't have a problem paying the £25 seat reservation fee for the wean but I'm not happy about being charged extra to do a phone renewal especially when the online system doesn't work. The online renewal / telephone renewal prices should be the same anyway.
  8. We are all Neil Lennon
  9. Me and the wean have season tickets for the JHS. It was our only choice at start of last season as kids weren't allowed into the NS. When they starting allowing over 12's into the NS, we were there in a shot. Yes the view wasn't as good but we could sit with friends and we both loved the atmosphere. Also avoided the problems we had with the same group of guys sitting in our "reserved" JH seats each week. If we can both get unreserved NS season tickets this year, great. Will save £25 and happy to give up our "good" JH seats. It's not clear yet (to me) if you can get a kids season ticket for the NS for next season. If I have to pay an extra £25 to reserve our JH seats this year, but we can still sit in the NS when we want, then fair enough. Would prefer to sit with our NS friends for every game, but it wasn't a big sacrifice for us to move back to the JH stand for the odd game, apart from having to move a few seats along due to our reserved seats usually being occupied. Luckily there was usually a few free seats in my row (despite every seat being reserved) that allowed us to do this. I have some sympathy for those that are unhappy with the £25 kids season ticket charge, but I feel it's still a good deal so will pay it if I have to with no complaints although if we can't get adult +child NS season tickets together I'll essentially be paying £25 to reserve our seats for the Celtic game! Maybe consideration of putting names on seats in the JHS would help - might soften the blow of parents having to pay to reserve their child's seat. Personally, I much prefer the unreserved ethos in the NS, although I get that people like to reserve "their" seat. It's never going to be possible for the club to keep everyone happy (short of building a new stand in the city end) but overall I think they have got it almost right on this one. I've always been a big fan of the KGF scheme, it's a brilliant idea to encourage kids to get into the habit of attending matches and they still can attend for free. Want to reserve a better seat, then fair enough, you pay the £25. Whether it's free, £25 or £100, as long as I can watch the Thistle with my son and friends that's all that really matters to me
  10. Text sent to my St Mirren friend saying I hope to see him and his wean wearing the new strip at our games next year Grew to like our home strip a bit more over the season but had no interest in buying it. The grim grey away strip was the worst in a long time, info from Ian regarding this year strips sounds good!
  11. Great news! Didn't expect things to go so well. Board could emerge very positively from this, especially if they apologise. Well done to everyone at the meeting and to Stuartay for his brilliant tweets (and sore fingers) - super effort! Great to hear a catering manager has been appointed. Not so good to hear about possible change to under 16 policy.
  12. Stuartayonspeaksfrench is posting realtime updates of the meeting on Twitter as promised! https://twitter.com/andrewaholloway Thanks Stuartay.. 30 minutes into the meeting - main comments so far - *David Beattie opens meeting saying he hears what we are saying. *Intention not to cause upset. Intention to get fans a set place. *Communication has been poor - acknowledged. *Ian Maxwell to present 3 options on why fans were to be moved... 1/ First option is North Stand into main stand. Permanent solution. Home fans behind dug out. Archie wants that. Cons were moving people. 2/ Option 2 away support into Jackie husband. Difficult to split stand in half. Safety and segregation an issue. Obliged to give away fans 1000 tickets per game. Need to move a lot of season ticket holders. Total 1000 fans. Would restrict away fans to 2000 per game. Including Celtic. 3/ Option 3 is status quo. Only came to light since kick off. Board didn't think we wanted this given celtic fiasco. *Board misread situation *Archie comment - never been at a jags home game where thistle fans behind him. *Just raised point on an old firm exclusive season ticket. Under consideration.
  13. Rangers likely to be back shortly? This decision has been based on £££ not fans :-(
  14. Monday evening 7th October 2013 - we were playing Hibs at home, and my son and I were running late for the game (it's a 2 hour, 3 journey trip for us get to evening games). Anyway, the bus dropped us off at Great Western Road, and we ran as fast as we could up Maryhill Road to get to the match. We got to the ground at about 5 to 8 and we started the walk up the hill to the JH stand. As we walked up, there was the strange mix of it being quiet and deserted outside the ground against the noise and the excitement of game inside the ground. About halfway up the hill, something magical happened. The sound of Maryhill is Wonderful, coming from the North Stand, started ricocheting and echoing around us. The acoustics were like nothing I'd ever heard before - it was completely different from hearing it when your in the ground. It was emotionally electrifying and I'm not ashamed to admit it gave me goosebumps and a tear in my eye. The wee man and I looked at each other and we both knew we were sharing a moment. I remember thinking I'll need to come back and record this one night - I have an interest in audio recording and a few years ago I downloaded an old, unusual recording someone had made of Liverpool fans singing in the Kop from the 60's. A Jags version of this would be a lovely thing to have. When the club relaxed the rule in November for over 12's to sit the the NS, me and the wean were round there in a shot. It also meant we could sit with 2 of my friends each home game, and aside from the Celtic games and the recent steward problem at the St Mirren game, we have sat in the NS ever since and loved it. I emailed the club to tell them the same and got a lovely email back from them. Yesterday (apart from the result) we had a great day in the Northy. We sat with our pals, and one of them brought along a friend who normally attends a different Glasgow club, and he commented on how good the atmosphere and banter was. I was really impressed that they let the fans on the pitch at the end - the kids loved it and the players who stayed on were amazing - they signed every autograph and posed for every photo (especially Balatoni, Taylor and Fraser). Got a brilliant pic of the wee man posing in the NS goals too Then we got home and found out about this. Both my son and I are gutted. We had been talking earlier about renewing our Season Tickets next week and asking for them to be changed to the NS. "Dad, why are they doing this?" I got asked. I don't know what to tell him.
  15. Thanks Earl. Was it you that had to sit in a different stand from your son at the St Mirren game? That was a disgrace. It's good to hear you received such a positive response from the club
  16. Did anyone get feedback from the club about being refused entry to the North Stand at the St Mirren game with JH season tickets? Me and the wean will be gutted if this happens to us again today : (
  17. Someone's in the huff cos I rhymed his name with Snotter next to a picture of a wee witch!
  18. Posted Today, 06:33 AM "Exactly the kind of p*sh & crass comments I'd expect from the opening poster. He thinks he is something on this board." Ian is something on this board and at the club - he is an all round good guy and a true supporter. He has spent his own time and money organising buses to important games, at cost price to fans (cheaper if your a kid) and he is a hero to my son after the brilliant day at Falkirk last year when we won the league. Ian was also big enough to offer all of the usual suspects on the Archie Must Go thread free travel on the Kilmarnock bus recently, let's all get behind the team and support them he said, and not one of you cretins even acknowledged or thanked him. You ignored his kind offer and spent more time trying to make him look stupid by misquoting his comments. Ian, you are a legend sir, as is Archie. You deserve a lot of credit for the effort you make to support the club and you don't need me to tell you to ignore the brave keyboard warrior chumps who have the audacity to criticise you after weeks of typing negative anti-Archie guff on here.

    Higgy

Higgy, I love you. Please stay. And can we have a song for you on Saturday please, it's about time.
  20. Ha ha ha ha! Archie = legend. Well done Archie and the team. Ups and downs yes, but we've had great football and it's been exciting. And we did it. Proud : )
  21. 5 minutes injury time! if County win, they're safe. Perhaps this is a good result for us they will arguably take their foot off the gas on Saturday.
  22. Was planning to go but now I've seen the prices will be giving it a miss. Simply too expensive, especially on the back of a trip to Edinburgh just a few days before. Really impressed with the prices for the Hibs game, which are realistic and reasonable. No wonder Scottish football's going to the dogs : (
  23. I was refused entry at the North Stand tonight with a JH season ticket. I wasn't the only one either but the steward was having none of it. No entry under any circumstances with a JH season ticket I was told, you can only get in via the Jackie Husband stand. Have got in to the NS no problem with my card with my son since it was opened to under 16's. Had to say goodbye to my friends at the gate who I normally sit with in the Northy. Neutral fan paying at the gate? Yes sir, no problem, you can sit in the North Stand. I'm only a season ticket holder after all, who'd just bought a dvd from the club shop and attended the Kilmarnock match with my son at the weekend. Was the NS full to capacity? No it wasn't. When I arrived at the JH stand I was told the reader was down so showed my card to a guy behind the turnstyle. And as per, there was the usual guy sitting in my seat in the JH stand, which is one (among many) reasons why I now sit in the NS. Disgraceful.
  24. Really sorry to hear about this Steeleyjag, I can totally appreciate how it must ruin going to the games with your son. I had a problem at the start of the season with a guy sitting in my son's seat (I bought season tickets for both of us the day the came out for the seats we sat in every home game during the promotion season) and his attitude stank when I asked him to move - he even made out I had been given the wrong number as he and his friends had "booked" it first. To be fair to the club, they responded to my emails straight away and took the situation seriously but they could only suggest letting the stewards know or for me to choose different seats. The situation resolved itself when kids were allowed into the North Stand, so we go there now. My Jackie Husband neighbours were using our seat during the Celtic game (which is fair enough) but luckily there is usually a spare seat next to me so we moved to avoid any drama. The racist / sectarian/ bad language you are experiencing is completely unacceptable though and am sure the club will take your email very seriously. No one, especially kids, should have to listen to that. As a side note, it would be good if your name could be put on your seat, it might identify aggressive numpties like this more easily and help prevent people sitting in other peoples seats.
