i miss jimmy as young imac states, we were probably wrong not giving him another year. while i like welsh as a individual, and fact he has been dreadfully unlucky with the sicknote years with little game time, there is no disputing that he has been overall underwhelming this season, despite being a near ever present ..... the talent and footballing brain he showed in our champion winning season, has not transferred itself to the premiership. i know some may argue craigen didn't manage the step up either (though i respectfully disagree with that viewpoint), but i personally would have preferred to see jimmy play in almost every game that welsh has featured in this season ..... he has an energy and speed and bite and for want of a better expression a "nuisance value" that welsh doesn't have or hasn't shown anywhere near enough ..... plus i think jimmy would have worked better (than welsh has) alongside our new signings this season like amoo, dumbuya and pogba. but archie can't get it right all the time, no one can, such is nature of football. guess the hope we must hold out for is with another year on his contract welsh can eradicate his shortcomings for example cut out his slow pondering on the ball and get up to speed of this league and be the influential player we need him to be, otherwise he'll end up having to drop a level to a morton or queens type club.

so the earth is flat, hmmmm? let's for a minute imagine i haven't had chewie and hapless hans do a flyby of earth in the millennium falcon with me in it, or that i've never visited the earth from space, or seen it in rear view mirror of the falcon as i've left it to train jedis in other galaxies ..... and i am only a mortal human whose feet has never left the ground. in that imaginary situation now are we, good, begin i will. if the earth is truly flat ..... what does the flat surface of the earth sit on? or is this flat earth floating around on? water, or is it space, or what other entity or substance? if antartica is a wall, the edge of the world, what is beyond it that the military are guarding? and does antartica surround the earth on all four sides, and if it does can you show me how? if it doesn't surround the flat earth, why doesn't the water in the oceans drain away by falling off the edge of the earth? that bright burny looking thing in the sky that we sometimes see, that rises on one side of this flat earth, travels slowly across sky and then sets on the other side ..... is that a real round planet of fire, or is that flat too, or is it a cgi effect projected on a big screen canopy that covers the earth? and if it is not fake, how does the burny bright round planet jump from one side of the flat earth when it sets back later to where it rises again next day ..... does someone switch the burny light off or does it have a cloaking device? same goes for all these other allegedly round planets people see in the night sky ..... are they not round either or like the often rarely seen bright burny thing are they projected onto this big canopy screen that covers the flat earth like a roof? and if it isn't a real galaxy we see above us and other galaxies we see from standing on this flat earth, and these are not real planets, stars, and galaxies we see, but are in fact cgi on this big canopy screen, who invented this technology and how many millions or billions of years ago was it constructed? i've many more questions but specific answers to these questions will do for now. thanks in advance, now let us pray for the truth to come out.

while it's not a poll of the entire regular two and a half thousand, or the other two thousand or so semi attendees who attend some games on an irregular basis, it is pleasing to see that this foras members are currently over two thirds firmly against an artificial pitch at firhill. you'd think as a straw poll it is reasonably accurate and reflective of what the entire thistle support would poll if ever quizzed by the board on this subject. in summary, sort the quagmire out come end of season !!!!! suggestion ..... while not ideal, if we can get into top six before split, could we ask the spfl to approve us playing our post split home games back to back, then finish our season with consecutive away games? ..... with early season start next season, we need to get as big as window as possible over the close season to dig down deep and extensively to fix this issue and then get a pitch laid and ready in time for the new season.

disagree i don't with your assessment of our play since turn of year ..... but last eleven scheduled matches have seen disruption of four postponements in amongst two wins, two draws and three defeats (cruel undeserved loss at porkhead, a loss in game that should have never gone ahead (and exacerbated the problems with our pitch), and a cup game where an experiment went horrifically wrong). prior to that eleven game sequence, we were on another run of games that saw us play some exceptional football in entertaining ways and ground out valuable one nil shitfests ..... if we can replicate that run in our final eleven games to the split, we will be top six and strong chance of fourth. it will be hard, with the increased frequency of games, but on flip side when we haven't had a run of games to get in our stride, we've suffered and struggled ..... sometimes when teams get on a winning run, the next games can't come soon enough, so this may, and i emphasise the word may, work in our favour. point is, let's not turn up to games thinking negatively, looking down and almost defeating ourselves before we start ..... let's be positive, think of how we have opportunity to climb upwards and show some belief in the players and archie and shaggy ..... we've yet to see what the new signings can contribute and a fit again fraser and a no more long haul internationalist edwards as well a returned christie and a level of performance we know our keeper, defence, osman, banzo, dools, lawless and co can produce ..... they've got it in them, so it's up to them to do their business on the park, while the supporters turn out to back them strongly. for example look at the manpreet young team, they are upping their game and backing, how about the some of the doubters do the same? just the way i see it. yoda dry knickers jag

another aspect of our current situation in the midst of how this season is playing out is ..... this is the tightest the premiership has been in any of the past few seasons ..... with our games in hand, coupled with the fact there is currently eight points between eight teams, we have never had a better opportunity to see us comfortably top six come the split ..... an achievement that will surpass anything of the previous three seasons, and be statistically speaking, one of the clubs best ever seasons in its history ..... if that isn't motivation for the players and management, and reason for us as supporters to back the team (and turn out in numbers consistently and vocally), then i despair. we all know what happened in sixty three, but we could do the opposite here and make these catchup games count and propel us upwards ..... would also mean more money too from league position payout to help get our pitch properly sorted to avoid drainage and flooding issues of this season in future seasons. yoda glass half full jag

flip it again and ..... if we win our all our games in hand, we will be in fourth and snapping at hearts heels. yes, it's an if, but it is possible, not as if we haven't beaten before all the teams we've to play in the postponed games in the premiership. we have the potential to go more up than down in both points and league positions with the games in hand ..... let's back the players and archie and shaggy and have belief that they can have us looking up rather than down once the games in hand have been caught up. lets encourage the players to roar on the pitch as supporters roar them on to victory off the pitch. all together now ..... we will follow thistle, over land and sea .....

simple solution, shift the away game to saturday fifth march, and split both the firhill and muirton gates equally ..... publicise the fact to both supports to encourage maximum turnouts so each club wins equally.

played every minute of every competitive game this season (twenty five games) started the last thirty five competitive games thirty nine appearances to date these are impressive stats, for ANY player at ANY club. when callum first appeared there were some grumbles of discontent around me, some were not impressed and stated that he was a downgrade and wouldn't last with us. it's a measure of the lad, and those who coach him and look after all the gym, sports science, dietary and other aspects of a players fitness, development and application, that callum has grown into such an established and important cog in our team and how we play. callum has improved throughout his time here there is no doubt or argument and it is a reflection of how far and how well a player can progress under the tutelage of archie and shaggy and all the backroom team at firhill, if players are like callum and have the right dedication and desire to succeed and improve themselves. he is still young and booth can only get better, and we shall continue to see that progress for at least another season, as archie continues to build a squad of huge togetherness, spirit, dedication to the club and his teammates and who obviously loves playing for thistle. the longevity of keeping the core of our best players together long term can only help in the quest to become a established premiership club who is knocking on door of top six and having cup runs regularly. the best is yet to come.
