  1. I would hope that if the board have made this decision they have got a target or two and they now try to make this a reality. If they haven't then that would be a concern and frankly negligence on their part. McCall would be my choice, he would be able to organise that squad as an attractive attacking unit and as a bonus detrimentally impact an obstacle for promotion. Whoever it is will have no mean feat 10 points behind the leaders and 8 from the favourites is no easy task to turnaround particularly for a squad that cannot defend properly and needs a lot of work to get them to.
  2. Nice sentiment but you obviously don't visit this forum often. Unfortunately it is plagued by posters that wish nothing but ill and negativity towards the club, it's staff and frequently pop in to cause division when there is a poor result. The best you can hope for is that they enjoy the moment and skulk off for a while let's face it they have waited for it for the past 5 years. Many thanks Archie and Scott it is the right decision at the wrong time but thanks for the good times.

Ok I agree not the only reason care to let us in to your thoughts rather than be pedantic about others?

Erskine has been rank, I have lost count of the amount of times he has given possession away. He has no claim to a starting place and for the lack of depth in the squad is his only hope of a place on the bench. An inform Chris is an assist the current version is far from one.

Our bad form is partly because he keeps giving goals away. What contribution is he making in your opinion that makes up for the 4/5 goals he has cost?

Not the only reason but certainly part of the thinking. Your view on why we changed?

After tonight how are you feeling about your opinion. How many games is he going to cost us before you wake up? We even went to a back 3 to stop him from giving away a goal and still he f****d it up.

  9. There has been many on here writing him off and pretty much questioning why we have supported him. I am particularly proud of our clubs support for him and hopefully he will stay fit and repay the faith. He is a class player and if he stays fit will raise our final league position.

Trust me if he wasn't the only choice he wouldn't be anywhere near the 1st team. Today he is a liability anyone who disagree knows nothing about football.

In what regard where we lucky?
  12. I take no pleasure from saying it but this squad is deficient in too many areas to be anywhere near good enough to get us out of this league. They are collectively mentally weak, make too many individual errors, too many out of form and way too slow in attack to be considered as title challengers. If they can't go up automatically I don't give them any chance in the playoffs. Regretably I don't see Archie fixing these issues and by the time the board realise this and act it will be too late.

    Home v Morton

Agree no idea how either is getting a start. Maybe worth persevering with Erskine to see if his confidence comes back but I can't see what Spittal is offering the team.
  14. 100% on board with that spirit Barney , any chance you will grasp the concept that this is a PTFC fans forum and give the club, their employees, their fans the benefit of the doubt. We should all be fanatical about PTFCand will give them the benefit of the doubt rather than try to crucify them for everything.
  15. Good man, is the season ticket in the bag too?
  16. It might be worth telling folk what Ian does?
  17. And that would have ended the speculation? If it did no doubt the thread would have turned to why we signed a player who can't get international clearance etc, etc. Face it there are just those individuals like yourself who will complain/criticise regardless.
  18. Or better still rather than give £8 to a rival sign up with Jagzone for £5.99 and listen to the match. I appreciate DUFC will buy players for the Jags but I prefer to do it the old fashioned way and purchase our own., It gives me a sense of entitlement when I am on here abusing the club and individuals within knowing I've partly paid for them. Just saying.
  19. Fair play BR if anyone recognises a nonsense post you will as you've been responsible for a high percentage of them.
  20. You don't have a monopoly on caring, and don't be so arrogant to think because you have a negative disposition that those that don't don't. You call it a critical examination from my perspective it's an unbalanced opinion that focusses on the negative. You'll probably will not recognise it but many sportsmen/women have actually made very good careers through focussing on what they do well and improving/maintaining that rather than waste time and effort on what they can't do.
  21. Agree this isn't just a problem for Christie. The standard of crossing is frankly embarrassing, it is a poor reflection on the management team and the players as individuals. The lack of quality in delivery and movement within the box is a main contributor to why our goals for column has been poor throughout the Premiership years. Add to this the lack of quality of delivery at corners and set pieces in general and it's easy to see how we are easy to defend against.
  22. If we win on Saturday we will be seeded, the format is as follows: Knock-out rounds The eight group winners and four best runners-up progress to the second round, where they are joined by the four clubs competing in Europe - Celtic, Aberdeen, Rangers and Hibernian. The seeded teams in the last 16 are the four European clubs and the four group winners with the highest points totals.
  23. Even you think you are a desperate pale imitation of a fan. Never mind I doubt you really care if we win, draw or lose let alone challenge for promotion.
  24. This was a very poor game and for that reason I suspect your comments are contexed as such. I agree Sneddon dealt with anything put back to him however I lost count of the by kicks he put straight out of the park. I don't believe for a second I witnessed a championship winning team yesterday. A very average Stenny team over ran our midfield in the second half and we couldn't change it. Slater looks tidy but drops too deep, Storer was out of position and completely ineffective. Erskine and Spittal should have been ditched last season, they both showed why we struggled last year and why they won't be creative enough to fire us to the title. I appreciate it was no more than a glorified friendly but we really struggled from the 6th minute, and for a team that was relegated because we didn't want it enough I didn't see anything to suggest the attitude had changed.
  25. In many ways this article sums up the player Adam is, a player when he is confident and probably happy with the world but when life gets tougher not there to be counted on. I certainly wouldn't have signed someone based on that piece alone but then again not really sure players have interviews to help assess what type of character your getting.
