  1. Anyone know of or can reccommend a reasonably priced ceilidh band for hire in and around the Glasgow area? Cheers
  2. Never knew it stood for that, highly amusing! Ah well, wonder if the guy who had it, bought it for that reason.
  3. Was driving home from 5's the other night and saw a registration that basically looked like KAWB and wondered if it was the same guy that's on here?
  4. I've had a few as well, have deleted them but might speak to my provider and see what they can do. As they are quite annoying!
  5. Ubuntu and Kubuntu are great, cracking for surfing the web without worrying about viruses/malware etc...

    Drinking Yarns

A friend of mine attended fancy dress party at a Rugby club, I think he was dressed as a Gorilla, during the night he got absolutely smashed and decided to go down to the shower room and fell asleep. When he woke up everyone had left and the place was all locked up, alarms set. After many failed attempts to phone people he tried to escape, but due to the way the lock works and his drunkeness he couldn't get out... The silent alarm had gone off and the police turned up to find this man dressed as a Gorilla furiously trying to open the door... Fortunately they saw the funny side once he got out.
  7. What Phd are you doing? Could maybe try the halls of residence.
  8. Assuming you mean the hole on Bilslands then I drank here, me and a mate before a night out. Expected it to be like a western but apart from a few odd looks it was alright. The Redan was another interesting place that i'd stopped by for a drink in the past, sadly nae longer there.
  9. It's a bit annoying I agree, but if you have a good relationship with a number of agencies they can be really helpful when it comes to getting a job. I'm a contractor and agencies are always calling/emailing offering roles. Pretty sure I've sent my CV to some of them for a job that didn't exist.
  10. Forecasting more snow again for tonight and tomorrow. Doubt the game will be on as well.
  11. I know, i'm not sure I could do that myself. Just the 'what if...' feeling all the time. Well played on dodging council parking tickets, surprisingly i've never had one.
  12. Good thread, if you get one from APCOA just ignore them too. In fact as the OP says ignore them all, unless it's a council ticket. I received letters every month, getting increasingly threatening eventually talking about court and final warnings etc... Although none of them were recorded delivery. Then they just stopped, think they give up once they realise they aren't getting a bean and would never take anyone to court as they couldn't possibly win the case. A friend of mine parked in an APCOA car park for about 2 years and amassed over £17k worth of fines and didn't pay them a penny.
  13. No it's a jailbroken iphone, it would be worth it though.

  16. £165 each! If that is just the price of the parts that is truly ridiculous! I had to use kwik fit, the only time i've ever used them, for an MOT and they tried to tell me the braking efficiency of the car was poor and needed all round new brake pads and discs. Which would be in the region of over £500! The guy must have thought I was clueless, he had the car on some sort of road tester trying to explain what was supposed to happen when under braking. In the end I just sort of laughed, called him a chancer and left. I knew the front brake pads needed done in a few hundred miles but a mechanic friend said the discs were fine. Would never ever go near Kwik Fit, as bad as if not worse than some Arnold Shark branches.
  17. Never really experienced particularly bad gigs, but I once saw Ash before RHCP at Murrayfield, they were utter baws, had better atmosphere at a funeral. Then N.E.R.D came on after and the crowd went mental... I was quite surprised. Not actually a big fan of RHCP, got dragged along. Wish I didn't bother actually.
  18. Awesome Don't go and donate the £19 to the Jags?
  19. What a total muppet, I saw quotes elsewhere on a more reputable site along the lines of Evenson thought Burns was a good fighter and it will be a tough fight. Can't find much on the net about the guy but seems pretty clear he didn't dodge bullets in Bogota to get to his gym.
  20. My gran could outrun the back line... etc.
