  1. Jackie announced along with the resigning of ATS and things are suddenly looking up
  2. Love it if that's true. There's the players there to play the exciting brand of football weve not seen for a long long time
  3. Unless the board have been waiting to get someone lined up to replace him, why have they waited till now to bin him? To echo another posters comment, we definitely need to make sure we don't make the same mistakes again by handing out 2 year deals. Hope the board make the right call this time
  4. Last minute of the game and were playing square balls till the ref blows for time. That about sums us up. Even when we do get the ball in, it's a half hearted effort to the front post easily cleared. It's simply unacceptable
  5. Our defending is absolutely terrible. Robson can't kick the ball properly. Panic stations everytime the ball comes into the box. Lacking thought up front. It's been hugely disappointing. Massive 45 minutes coming up. At least we can't lose this week from a winning position. We don't even look like scoring.
  6. The individual errors have been happening long before Caldwell took over. Christie Elliott provided two of the worst I have ever seen which in the end contributed to Archie's departure. There is no doubt its concerning that the trend has continued. Its small margins in most games and crazy mistakes can be the difference. Cut adrift so early? If we fail to win in Arbroath then we can start concerning ourselves with that. I think we have a better balance to the squad now with the recent additions. This is where my renewing optimism has been born out of. Its now completely down to the manager to get this team to play. Its very easy to criticise through the keyboard and most of it has been quite rightly justifiable. Id be even more concerned if we just getting pumped every week without every looking like winning. We have been in with a shout in all the games so far, the defeats have been hard to take but could easily have went the other way.
  7. As much as it has been a disappointing start to the season, it is also clear that we wont win the league. Dundee United have spent massively and it would always have been difficult to compete with them this year. The play-offs will probably have been seen as the route to promotion and I don't think that has changed. I think we will be good enough for 4th place at least. Out of the 4 games we have failed to win, the Morton game is by far the most disappointing given the manner of the late collapse. Its all ifs and buts however ridiculous individual errors by usually reliable personnel have been largely the cause. We've just come out of August and already the season is over in the eyes of several forum members. I felt at the start of the season we were bottom heavy and didn't have many attacking options. It looked as if we were going to be relying on Cardle to be the creative spark. The addition of Zanatta sounds like we have got a cracking player on our hands. There are a few signings where the jury is still pretty much out but I am hoping as much as everyone else does that they will come good. The play-offs are very achievable this season so I'm not entertaining the relegation talk. September is a big month for Caldwell and if we can get a decent win up in Montrose then hopefully it will give us a lift going into the league games.
  8. If your suggesting he got sent off on purpose he can get kicked up and down Firhill road
  9. Archie got lucky that during those several years that there was no rangers, hearts and hibs. When they came back we lasted 1 season, with the mighty Hamilton finishing above us in the final doom laden season.
  10. Watched the first half which I think they had to change the ball due to how hard it was being kicked the way anyone was facing. We were 2 goals to the good which were well taken. Couldn't bear watching the 2nd so was doing a few things about the house, still 2 up after 70 minutes, checked it again 10 minutes later and were 3-2 down. I couldn't believe it but really in hindsight it was very believable. Its embarrassing and a kick in the soccer chuckies again.
  11. On the bus gate. I landed back into Dyce this morning and saw the Aberdeen team bus arriving at the airport. Club crest on the side of it the lot. They might well go on to get pumped but it did look very professional all the same
  12. Going by yesterday's statement, a sum circa 700000 from unbudgeted transfers had to balance the books. What kind of model are this current and previous board following, the one across the river? That itself is one of the most worrying aspects of this sorry episode
  13. The last two years have been a disaster both on and off the park. Now the promised training ground has been canned. We went from securing the future of our club for decades with a great infrastructure to potentially losing the academy. The board have alienated our saviour and nobody knows what's in store. We have sleep walked into mismanagement and with only one game into the season plans are in disarray. Its an absolute disgrace and a shambles. As much as I wasn't a big fan of Low, I can't help but feel she has been thrown under the bus to make Beattie look like this knight in shining armour. He is culpable for us being where we are
  14. Im not business minded at all but that's sounds like buying a new house and finding a 1/5th of a million stashed up the loft and declaring it your own. What makes it the clubs Asset to prevent board members taking it with them?
  15. Surely the transfer fund is made up partly by season ticket sales. So what happens to that money if the new company took over? Does it line the pockets of the current board on their departure?
  16. Was there an official attendance for the away gate yesterday?
  17. The new season excitement took a fair kick in the chuckies yesterday. Need to be winning games against Alloa. Next up a rampant DU team. We started with a negative side yesterday, I wonder if we'll throw even more caution to the wind and start with both Fox and Sneddon on Friday.
  18. All the excitement for the game diminished when you look at the line up. We shouldn't be out the final third constantly attacking, looking at that 11, we will barely be in it at all. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong
  19. I thought we were a club inclusive to all?
  20. It's a shame what happened to the Star and Garter. Went in on Saturday after the game and it's not the same at all without Michael running it. Shite pint and full of celtic fans also. The Castle Vaults down by St George's Cross is small and old fashioned but it's friendly enough and a good laugh
  21. I thought that they were in breach of rules in the EFL if they were owners of more than one team?
  22. I did see that on the website and that's what got me thinking.
  23. How does the woman's side work, as in, does money from our season tickets fund it, or is it a separate entity?
  24. For God sake, we had piccolo, azeez and pogba, yet a man who has scored in some massive games at the top level is classed as a Diddy. Get a ****** grip of yerself
  25. You could argue that they're best days are behind them both. IMO, I think Miller is a class above Doolan even at 39. Welcome to Firhill and here's to a successful season
