One thing to note is that the youth academy is not just about bringing on new players. I know a coach at the Man City Academy and he was saying that part of the role is to set up the next generation of supporter. If you can get them early and playing for your team, there is a high chance that they will become a future supporter. Even if they never make it to the professional ranks, it doesn't take many years as a supporter to generate more than it cost to train them.

No. We don't know what state the finances will be in when they get handed over to fan ownership. I strongly suspect that the fans will be given a clean slate and from there it will be the job of the fan directors to run a break even budget. However that does not suit some peoples agenda. Besides, deficits (as has frequently been pointed out by JJ) is the role for the directors. The working group (which this thread is about) is to decide on the model after takeover. It has already been stated that the working group and the directors are separate entities to avoid any conflict of interest. Any deficit is therefore TOTALLY IRRELEVANT to this thread (but feel free to start one on interim directors)

I’m not sure why it matters how many have signed up. This is still additional income over what we already have. edit: even after costs to process, this will be around £25,000 - £30,000 of NEW money every year

Has anyone asked David Beattie & co if they want to run the club again ? It strikes me that they have now given up running the club twice, so I don’t see any desire there

It was a strange corner. Seemed to go very high and come down straight, so I suspect that the wind played a big part. Because of that, Miller misjudged the flight, realised it was not going to come to his head, so just stuck out a foot (the defender marking him was also confused). Luckily it broke nicely for Saunders.

Surely this is the same problem for whoever are the owners/directors. It is not something unique for Fan Ownership (whoever they turn out to be). I know you are a fan of the previous board, so what was their plan to resolve it ?

I was not referring to the £1m more the general guff and bollocks that permeates most threads on ownership issues. That said there are a number of ways to bridge the gap, from bank loans to gifts from benefactors. That is why we have directors (interim or permanent) to identify the best options for the way they want Thistle to be run. This in turn is why I will be using what ever mechanisms I have to get my say on who should be on the board, and that is not verbal diarrhoea on this forum which is something I do accuse you of.
