  1. I don't think Levein should go, for the simple reason that I cannot think of any available manager who'd do a much better job. I think we are deluding ourselves if we think we're making great strides forward: as far as I'm convened Scottish football is on an inexorable decline and unless their is root and branch reform we're unlikely to get anywhere. Of course that won't stop me watching the game and hoping for a miracle. aia'm just praying for Spain to have an off day, but to be truthful I fear that is nothing but a pipe dream.
  2. I must say that it is one thing not to underestimate your opponent, or over estimate your own country's prowess. But come on, the population of Lichtenstein is only about 40,000 people, to celebrate a 1-0 victory over a minnow like that(as the BBC commentary team did last night) is surely totally off. To be totally honest we are rotten and do not deserve to qualify. Furthermore, to me its always a sign that a manager or coach is struggling, when they're view of a match is so totally at variance with everyone else's. Not for the first time in this campaign Levein has joined that club frequented by such luminaries as "the bunnet". Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating getting rid of the manager, just asking him to refrain from living in La-la land!
  3. Great to see Marko grabbing the headlines once again was always a favourite of mine. Oh and in case anybody's ignorant of the fact the forces of darkness have met their doom in the League Cup or whatever poxy name its called now. Hard luck Super Ally, aw the shame, not.
  4. I definitely won't be supporting my local team, who play at Ibrox Stadium: no thanks!
  5. same old same old same old same cr*p
  6. Just got me thinking I always remember the Denis McQuade card, and on the back it had something like things you don't know about this player, a. He was going to be a priest. Ah it's all coming flooding back know all those .innocent days
  7. Your showing your age, I'd tend to say the same. Funny how, you always got guys like Henry Hall and Jim Cruickshank in those football cards, you know the ones with the wee bit of gum, anybody remember what they were called?
  8. Have seen known and played with so many guys like that over the years. It really pisses me off when you see a guywith natural talent, who f*cks his life up bacause of drink, drugs, bad company or more often simply being an eejit.
  9. I lisened to the Radio Scotland phone, that Irish guy Tom English, made the very valid point that come the OF game it'll be business as usual. The same old, same old i.e the biggest club game in the world etc. etc. Chick young will be bending over for Alistair the whole football media cr*p stinks. In fact Scottish football is actually cr*p! We're not too bad, after all we've always been rotten or thereabouts.
  10. I see once again theat Scotlands mighty SPL teams are once again struggling, to reach the dizzy heights of European footballing mediocrity. Apart from having a chuckle, since none of the three teams involved are in any way worthy of my affection: it does reveal how shockingly poor Scottish football has become. No doubt Chick Dung and his mates will be calling for a RoyalInquiry, np doubt in his case with the emphass on royal! I know we can hardly talk but if Scottish football doesn't change fast then it's going to be so screwed.
  11. Although, it is a touch early to start with great weeping and gnashing of teeth: it is concerning to say the least to go four games on the trot without anything to show for it, like winning losing can rapidly become a habit, This is how all our relegation seasons are marked ie,e, narrow defeats to the more fancied teams, followed swiftly by defeats from the "diddy" teams in short order. It does not get any easier with Hamilton our next opponents, if we take nothing from that game then my teeth will get rady to gnash! Mind you, I realy and truly don't blame the Manager. he's got hee-haw money, I defy anyone to make a serious, constructive proposition to the status quo.
  12. Just knew something like that would happen, certainly not for the first time supporting Thistle, I am pig sick! Looking on the bright side, if this is going to be the standard in the 1st division this year, providing we lose the habit of not taking chances or losing stupid late goals(both, very big it's I grant you!) then we'll do all-right. Did I mention I f....mg hate Dundee it's a cesspit of humanity and as for Dungdee F.C., they rank alongside Airdrie and Rangers in my hate list. Got to say I couldn't see the penalty clearly, but judging from the reactions of those next to me......
  13. To be honest apart from a wee chuckle I couldnt really give a toss about Rangers. Particular as the behaviour of that famous "tiny minorty" suggests that their aspirations have little to do with football, circa 2011.
  14. Obviously this is just guess work and a bit of fun, so unlike the experts like Chick Dung who almost always tip Rangers to win eveything. Of course your average Scottish pundit wil never deign to make anything other than a condescening aside, when it comes to the wee diddy teams.
  15. To be totally honest there it's equally likely that we'll be in in promotion contention as being relegation candidates. Obviously I hope for the former , but unfortunately all things being considered, I'd settle for mid table obscurity,
  16. Oh dear how sad, never mind!
  17. Only in Scotland would you have all this fuss over what is essentially a return to the pre-SPL set up, with one or two minor tweaks. As for play offs I do agree that they generate excitement, but equally they negate the whole concept of league football. So I'm against them in principle but I'm enough of a realist to accept them in practise. As for numbers its surely got to be a 14/16 team top flight, I can see no reasonable argument against this.
  18. The best one can hope for with initiatives such as this, is that it will at least set the mood music for what is and what is not acceptable behaviour at a football ground or in fact any public place. In practise if it isn't enforced by the police and the clubs, then it will be just mere platitude and window dressing. I await with interest the dawning of a new tolerant atmosphere at(totally of the top of my head!) Hunbrox. Maybe, we'll not be treated to renditions of such old "traditional" favourites favourites as "Derry's Walls" or the "Sash", but quite frankly I will not hold my breath.
  19. I remember this vaguely, and I would be the first to categorise it as not acceptable in this day and age. However, the really annoying thing is the efforts of some people to obfuscate and obstruct any attempt to change the law relating to sectarian behaviour by posing puerile problems and setting false trails, when in reality anyone born and bred in this city would be able to recognise what we all want to stop.
  20. At the end of the day the only group who's views will have no influence will be surprise, surprise the punters. No doubt we'll have the likes of Doncaster then bemoaning the lack of attendance. I ask you if, Scottish football was being deliberately run into the ground could anyone make a better job than the present clique.
  21. Whoopee, I can barely contain myself!
  22. My thoughts exactly, when you think about it it kinda puts this season in perspective. If we hadn't come up that day God alone knows what our fate may have been.
  23. I'd like to think that maybe we'd have put up a little bit more of a resistance than Kilmarnock have apparently done today, at least.
