  1. Expect the ticket prices to come up too, as its now SPL not SFL
  2. Totally agree with you Will, The fresh thing about watching games over here is you only play teams twice, its great all the wee clubs have a go away from home and it makes for an exciting league (well less boring). You even have the rangers player Bougerra saying he wants to leave as its too repetitive here. If this goes ahead scottish football will be dead as we know it in 5 years
  3. The smell of napalm in the morning
  4. On both occasions Emperor Hirohito visited the UK that year on his only 2 visits, unfortunatly he's plain bread now. Maybe we could dig him up
  5. Peter Macdonald to replace if my scource is correct, possibly on a loan
  6. I drink in the wintergills (or sndross for the older readers) most times when i am home, always been a mixed bag of fans in there with both sides of the infirm as well as jags fans, well fans and even a st johnstone fan, never seen it lean particularly to either side
  7. Merry Christmas to all jags fans and there families from the frozen north
  8. 11 was a round number in the pre-metric system when you had shillings, yards etc.......
  9. My calender turned up today in Norway (thanks Da) and looks pretty good too, will be taking pride of place in the engine bay here
  10. For years we have been asking about utilising the ground more outwith matchdays to bring more cash in, has it ever happened with the exception of a few jags trust events? The board under our financial supremo has spent money we didnt have investing in things we didint need or ides that werent thought out completely. How many ideas have come from here as to wee ways to make some revenue and never happened, not because they are impossible but because they couldn't be bothered, easy fix asset strip make a wee nest egg for yourselfs and keep the head above water for another year or 2. Whilst not livivng with in our means. The back to back championships we had look at the crowds we had all money in the bank, we had no youth policy as such to pay, and the players were not on great money, add to that the semi final money, the 2 big transfers, the rangers games etc etc etc and alot more money came into this club in the last 10 years than most other clubs, yes we built a stand, but selling the land off for the student accomodation paid for that and a bit more (or so we were told at the time) Surely to hell when the books have been getting revieved monthly, quartely annually overthe years by a man who runs a financial services company alarm bells should have started to ring years ago and said right lets cut back on this, utilize this more, not move this or pay to knock this bit down with no planning permission. or was it lets not worry something will turn up, someone will seee our advert. Yet again its falling down to the normal jags fan to dig deep which we probably will, whilstn the guys that got us into it are still at the helm but under another job title. The free shares should be sold if possible with all money going to service the debt, if you want your free shares you can pay for them as you got us into this mess and that may help us out of it
  11. SPL 1...10 teams play the same teams 4 times Boring SPL 2...10 teams play the same team 4 times Boring (basically the same as the 1st division is now) One promoted/1 relegated same as today boring Play off between 9th in SPL 1 and 2nd/3rd/4th in SPL 2 an improvement No end of season SPL split an improvementEarlier July start to SPL Guaranteed winter break 2 lower divisions regionalised whats the promotion to from these from the SPL2 or is it a closed shop I personally think this is not the way forward
  12. Add to that not having to put flood lights or undersoil heating on and you'll be saving more money for the clubs
  13. It would kill us, move us from our fan base, our home our roots to a soul less wind swept sub artic ground away from any pubs or close public transport
  14. Rumours the bad weather is to do with the atlantic conveyor belt being shut of due to the BP disaster, never sure with this conspiracy things but it makes good reading
  15. Siege this is called the qualifying rounds
  16. When the fixture list comes out i'll let you know, the tv deal has bee changed so the games won't be played on a monday night if changed but tto a friday or saturday night which when the good weather is here will be fantastic.... sit outside the bar few drinks, boat to game few drinks on boat, game, boat back few drinks then a night out in stavanger, has the makings of a messy season
  17. The season starts around april if i remember right, stavanger is good for the games as there are plenty bars and easy to get to the games, the fixture list isnt out yet but remember the games can change for the telly, if you's fancy viking let me know and i'll see what i can organise with regards transport to the game on the boat from the pub, its also the cheapest way to get to stavanger from aberdeen, oslo is very very expensive even by norwegian standards
  18. Good to put a face to the name with a wee background, well done Douglas. Would be nice to see the same from the rest of the JT board
  19. Reading this again and this bit jumped out at me "We have agreed to set up a small subcommittee to review and bring forward proposals for constitutional changes required to more clearly/actively involve the active Supporters Buses. " How about you engage with the current members 1st instead of allowing the north west bus having a greater say, another sub-committee with things that dont really involve or interest most of the trusts members, or benefit the club that we all support, it reads to me that our supporters association is being rode shotgun with folk with there own agenda and i can see why all the new blood has come and gone while the same old faces seem to be the problem. How many times have we slagged cowan and hughes for some of there suicidal statements well that one that has been published is right up there with it. Forget the renewal form lads i aint re-joining as this trust no longer represents this fans views
  20. Completely agree with your post and Tams post
  21. 3 points, firstly before this statement regarding david beatties comments in the programme was released has the trust been in contact with the board to express there problems with the programme notes (the trusts i may add as alot of members on here seem to back it). secondly, how have the new selections to the JT board taken place, did they approach yourselfs or are these people you know previously and you's approached them thirdly and this is more for some of the JT members that are distant to firhill, how abot a wee bio on who the trust board is as in there background, how long they have supported where they sit (so someone can maybe put a face to the name) do they go to all the games are they members of supporters buses etc etc
