  1. Maybe so, but that is the case for virtually every transfer. Not sure how many clubs come out and explicitly says we got this much. I’m not sure what your point is? Should we just not mention transfer fees? in the absence of a clear statement I wil go with the amount Lindsay is quoted as saying of £350k.
  2. Pretty sure that’s what I remember hearing quoted at the time. Will bow to your superior knowledge though if I’m wrong. How much was it? Liam was also quoted in the record as saying it was £350k.
  3. Maybe shows the value in waiting to see how a player actually plays before slaughtering his signing. He may never score again and be a total dud. I’m pretty happy with him so far though.
  4. I assume this was tongue in cheek? if not - We got £450k for a young defender, with bags of potential, the right build for the English leagues, could contribute goals and who made the SPL team of the year. There is absolutely zero prospect of anyone paying us more than a £200-300k for a striker in the championship. I’m not sure what shankland will end up going for but I’d be amazed if it’s more than this. To suggest you’d make profit on an investment of $2m is wild.
  5. I was talking about relegation, which has happened considerably more than twice in 30 years.
  6. I would actually give Archie a bit longer, til day earl December and see how we do once the transfer window is shut and the team gels. That said, the attitude we won’t get relegated is a very dangerous one to have. We have seen it far too often before, so how you can say that is beyond me. I just hope the board don’t have that attitude!
  7. I take my kids for the occasional McDonald’s. I know it’s crap that they are eating, just as it is when I am running in the door at 5.30 and the quickest thing to cook for tea is sausage and beans. There is plenty of unhealthy food being bought in supermarkets on a far more regular basis. I appreciate the point you are making, but we play in a league sponsored by a bookie, have had plenty games shown on sky (who you could argue have dubious morals), were sponsored by a hedge fund, pretty sure we have/had carlsberg and Greggs advertising around the ground.... there are lots of things which might not sit well with everyone, but I don’t think McDonald’s is any worse than anything mentioned above, and Scottish football is a long long way from being able to take moral high ground when it comes to advertising, so to be quite frank, I am happy to take their sponsorship money.
  8. I don’t have a problem with it.
  9. Agreed, however he offered something completely different on Tuesday. If we were playing a team who use attacking fullbacks I would think he would do a decent job at pinning one of them back and will definitely cause defences a lot of problems at this level.
  10. Have to assume muzzy was another one, given he allegedly did, or was ready to, walk out on a match day.
  11. Perhaps only 10% of the Facebook page “cried out” for it.
  12. Well there’s optimism for you!
  13. Pretty harsh given we finished above both those teams last season, and that was with (another) honking start to the season. I know we are on a horrendous run without a win, but be arent getting gubbed by teams and I have every confidence we will go on a good run soon. I think bannigan in for Barton would make a big difference just now.
  14. Fair play to the club and Macrae FS who have each donated £1000 apparently. Maybe some folk didn't like the club statement, I personally didn't mind it, but actions speak louder than words I suppose.
  15. I presume that means we don't have an option to recall pensive then?
  16. I always used to think this was the case. Seems to have changed over the last few years though to the point where both sets of their fans piss me off equally. Not sure if that's because I am older and (unfortunately) wiser to the pro IRA bile and songs about getting their country back. Might also have something to do with the green brigade popularising the nonsense. And as for those pathetic smoke bombs when they score, why aren't these people hauled out by the police immediately? It's pretty clear where the smoke originates from - remove them, fine them and ban them from all future games. Problem solved.
  17. Couldn't agree more. If he's pish after 10-15 starts then fair do's, but he is a young boy, brought through the youth ranks. Can't for the life of me understand why everyone is so quick to write him off. Why don't we try and encourage him?! Let's see if Archie and co can coach him a bit and help him develop. Still think we need to sign another striker, but I would love nisbet to get a few goals for us while he is in the team to boost his confidence.
  18. Yup stevie after Nisbet brought down in the box.
  19. I could well be weong but I always thought that maxi's role was a bit broader. He is clearly involved in the footballing side, but seems to have a pretty wide remit, particularly on the commercial side, as well as the "political" aspect of dealing with the SPFL. I would expect a director of football to concentrate almost exclusively on the football side and therefore probably me a lot more hands on.
  20. I'm surprised by that. On the couple of occasions that I have seen him it was his crossing ability that stood out. He was pretty lightweight as well from memory.
  21. Of course we Would love to sign him. Every club in Britain would take him. There is absolutely 0 prospect of us signing him though. Where is it being suggested btw? I would ignore that source from now on.
  22. What about pedro ricksen...
