  1. Oware is 7/1 anytime with same bookies. Might have a wee punt on that.

Im not as familiar with their relative work histories. Thanks for making that point. im still concerned that their current motivation is to make money from selling their shares. i think the way you view today’s events really depends on whether you think Beattie et al are motivated to cause correct the running of the club, or to make some money from selling off their shares.

Same thoughts as me. I’m unsure why most folks seem to question lows capabilities and motivations, and not Beattie and co.

Why didn’t they sell their shares then? Surely they are only there as an interim step?

Another way to view this is that Beattie and co want to sell their shares. The only way they can do that is by taking control of the board again, on a very temporary measure. Presumably if the sale goes through we’ll have another board. Am not sure if we have gone from frying pan to fire, or vice versa but...this is not a good state of affairs. im still concerned that Colin weir will be pissed off as he brought jacqui on board. I also think she was somebody that cared for the club, even if she had little/no financial input.
  6. Yeah...I see that but that must have an impact on the 3 black cat stuff, and all the planned training ground etc. Never mind destabilising any relationship with Gerry b, gc etc
  7. How can he not be a factor though when he is a major benefactor of the club? Potential board changes might impact that. No?
  8. Doesn’t look good at all. Power struggles behind the scenes rarely means a successful team on the park. its all a bit mysterious about being instructed by the majority of shareholders. I wonder where this leaves us with Colin weir now that jacqui lowe is removed?
  9. Yes - you are the boy. the boy looks the real deal to me. Pace, composure and a bundles of talent. A Scotland call up at any level surely awaits.
  10. As they say it’s all about opinions. I’m just not convinced by mansell, and we did see a fair bit of him last season. We shall see. I hope I am wrong.
  11. Not sure about this. Played well in patches but can’t see him scoring more than half a dozen goals. Meanwhile we let dools go. Sorry...I can’t let that go but would definitely rather have kept doolan than mansell. Even though he had a poor season. Please don’t tell me they are different kinds of players. One is a natural goal scorer, and one is not.
  12. Any more clarity on the ‘new direction’v
  13. Ps. I said 20+ - I meant 10+. A bit optimistic
  14. I just read the latest gc evening times article. He makes a bit more sense there. I still think he got this one wrong. He’s basically saying dools best days are behind him, no room for sentiment, team is used to losing, and he needs to build a winning team. Fair dos - I just think dools loyalty deserves loyalty back. I’m also not convinced that he won’t score 20+ goals in the premiership or championship next year. time will tell on this one but...the culture of the club could have been enhanced around kris. That piece is really not factored into the decision making. All the stuff he did at fans events, coaching and even donating the ghost goal bonus to the beatson. Ouch - I’m getting angry again.
  15. I thought exactly the same. Puts undue pressure on Christie; and potentially unrests other players. I also assume that it’s also a wage cut.
  16. Agree with most of the comments on this thread. The new direction piece sounds likes bollocks. Especially when it is mentioned alongside old firm old timers like Boyd and miller. The only way it would have made any sense is if he was meaning to give youth a chance. The comment is very ambiguous. Will be interesting if he addresses that at the fans night. The only other thing on dools is that gc really did not see him at his best. He’s been with us 10 years and we’ve had the benefit of seeing him be excellent in previous seasons. It just didn’t happen last year. its still a huge mistake. Also think about the new direction in the context of banzo. He is a player that was due to move to bigger things. Then got a terrible injury. We recuperated him over a long period. Now we are getting the benefits. This is a good example of loyalty working both ways. Can’t help feeling that dools has been shafted, and wonder if the current regime would handle the banzo situation differently.
  17. Less than 30 there. Which was a shame, but understandable. At least my son and I got on the wireless.
  18. I actually thought about that. He was a cb at Blackburn. Maybe he’ll do a ‘davie irons’ next year.
  19. I thought he was excellent against us earlier in the season. One of my favourite ever players so can’t really understand all the complaints. Some folk are never happy. I reckon with banzo in cdm and spittal and harkins further forward - it could work. welcome back Gary. We still need cover at fullbacks as more of a priority but I guess it depends who is available. You bunch of miserable buggers can get back to playing football manager, ps. He’s not eligible to play on Saturday as January window not open yet.
  20. See the thing about storey... if we are going to pick him why not play to his strengths. I can’t recall any times where we knock the ball long (over the top, or into channels) to allow him to use his pace. He’s continually out wide and then boots the ball past his man and scarpers. Our coaching of him, and tactics have been poor. I really can’t fathom why we don’t ask him to run in behind instead of always coming short/wide.
  21. Whoops - you are right. Too much eggnog still in my system
  22. Oh jeez - not that big dumpling sammon
  23. No reason for this...other than I like the player but...could we get Scott Clark on Liam from Aberdeen? He destroyed us a couple of seasons ago, and can’t get a game at Aberdeen.
  24. I just spotted this. The stato in me says 1-1 as everybody else is going for a jags win. This may well backfire on me but if thistle win i’ll Still be happy.
