  1. Another chance missed. Whoever wins this league, will have crept over the line. P1ss poor division and unlikely to be as bad for some time.
  2. Big game today and I'm sure a big Thistle support. Enjoy everyone. Up The Jags.
  3. There's a couple of different ways we could win the league but they include us winning our 3 games. Dundee could draw all 3 or draw 2 and win 1. They could lose all 3, as long as QP lose 1 before they beat Dundee. I felt before tonight that Ayr could lose out and I still think they might. That game was pretty dire. I think we'll be third but could maybe sneak into second.
  4. Thanks FT. I've won my 3rd signed football. Going to a good home, if anyone would like it. The nephew has one and I've kept one, so this is spare. Let me know. I'm sure I can arrange for someone to collect at Firhill. Cheers CJ
  5. Anyone know the results from Saturday? Purchased online and haven't been able to find the winning numbers as yet. Cheers CJ
  6. I'm sure we would. I've been at Killie when we had 4k + but Ayr aren't us. I think 584 is fair enough for them.
  7. Not sure what basis you're measuring that on. Their average home support can't be more than 2,000, including away fans, so they've travelled with circa. 33% of their fans. I don't think that's too bad. QP looked to only have about 100 fans last week and I'm sure they get more than 300 fans at home games, when in Glasgow. I've said before, that we probably travel with a larger %age of our fan base than just about any other club. I doubt Ayr take more than 584 to many games.
  8. What was the crowd EJ? A real chance of 1st if we'd won today. Target now is as high in the mini play-off league as we can. 2nd place would be massive for a couple of reasons.
  9. Enjoy the game today all. Big win needed. Mon The Jags.
  10. Remember it well. A deafly silence fell for what seemed like an age. Was in the City End Terracing and remember there being a crowd of around 10,000. My favourite bit was when one of our fans, dressed as a Pink Panther, fell onto the pitch and got huckled.
  11. I'm staying optimistic about our own chances, as I think we can win all of our remaining games. The biggy for me is Dundee on Saturday. If they drop any points, they then have two tough away games at ICT and QP. They've not exactly been brilliant all season and could still bottle it. If they win on Saturday, then I think that's probably it.
  12. In control for the whole game and the goals were top class. Defence were brilliant all night and Mitchell never troubled. Selfless up front with nice touches and classy lay-offs. Add the finishing to that and you have a magnificent team performance. Well done Jags.
  13. Enjoy your game BelfastJag. A big ask, but 5 wins and I think we will top the League. One at a time though, so let's take care of QP tonight. Up The Jags.
  14. Enjoyed that. The sounds, grainy nature of the picture and speed of the play, reminded me of games played many years ago that have been through a colourisation process. Most recordings these days look like a computer simulation.
  15. Just seen the subs and looks like we're trying to see the game out, despite having most possession and shots. Hope we don't invite them onto us.
  16. It was directed at anyone that in my view, has damaged our chances of promotion this year. It wasn't aimed at any particular person, you included, as I would mostly be unable to point out who has those views at an individual level, as I try and switch off from the negativity. There are of course a couple of posters who's views are quite obvious and quite repetitive. But again, my post wasn't written with those exact people in mind. I wrote what I did, to point out, that in my view, the blame doesn't solely lie with the Club and the Management team and that getting rid of everyone may not be the answer. Apologies, meant to respond as a quote.
  17. Isn't it just about supporting your team through thick and thin? This is what most football supporters do, including many who support bigger clubs like Newcastle for example. I'll be honest here and say that I think we're partly in the position we're in, due to some of our own support, who pretty much turned against anything the wider Thistle team were trying to do. Some, turned against the team in a variety of ways, including suggesting boycotts, when we were doing pretty well in the league. We've had to listen to suggestions that include removing Gaelic signage, removing the board, removing the teams' ambassadors (including a Thistle legend), removing most of the management team because we shouldn't have goalie trainers, statisticians or assistants and of course removing the manager. I'm sure there's more. I'll never turn against Thistle but some of these people and suggestions, have made me sick to the core. It's noticeable that at least one of the protagonists has left the forum, maybe having achieved what they set out to do. Anyway, Up The Jags and a massive Up You to anyone with ulterior motives and intentions that don't belong at our Club.
  18. It's the same sentiment, before the Cove game, that drove me to action as well. I couldn't bear it (no pun intended), if we beat them and I missed it. A win on penalties please.
  19. It's great that you're coming over for the game. Here's hoping it's a good one.
  20. Gavin Dunbar? Can't believe it. Hopefully get to ask him when one of my favourite bands are touring again. Love Camera Obscura. Thanks for the replies both, will definitely be there. This is exactly right for our group. Cheers.
  21. I've never been so worried about an embarrassing score and don't even want to put to print what I imagine it could be. In any case, Me, my brother and my nephew are travelling 350 miles to see our team. I'm using my 'one-time', for this game. On a lighter note, will the Thistle fans still go to the usual pubs before the game and how will we travel to and from Ibrox? I'll be at my Uncles in the Southside but would travel to Maryhill or other, for a pint if it made sense.
  22. I can only hope, and I'm certain that we will, take this game very seriously on Sunday. 1. I'll be there 2. I've yet to see us score against them 3. There's no team I'd rather beat 4. It's been too long If we beat Rangers and finish 4th in the League, I won't be too unhappy. Having said that, I think we've missed a great chance for automatic promotion and doubt this League will be as poor for a long time to come. I'm on the fence as far as sacking the Manager goes and still somehow believe we can turn this round and give McCall his shot in the top league.
  23. If we keep pointing all of this stuff out, he'll be picked to ref our game next week. Not that on current form, the currants will need any help from the ref but it's good to have a pen or two up your sleeve when you need it.
