  1. Well, most people think those games suit Craig more than Doolan... I'd go with Doolan for this one but if Craig was given the nod I wouldn't cry about it. We've got two effective strikers to choose from, I'm happy with that.
  2. There is truth in the night shift thing. He works night shifts.
  3. I've been told from a reliable source that he's offered contracts to Balatoni, Muirhead, Fox, Welsh and Archibald too. Who will we have left???
  4. Whoever hits the winner in the Morton game will be my Player of the Year.
  5. We don't need to win. A draw will be enough for us I think. Obviously we'll be going for the win and I'm desperate for the win, but a draw... That would mean WE COULD AFFORD TO LOSE ONE and DRAW ONE of our last five, assuming that Morton will all their matches... So say it goes: Morton (h) - DRAW Airdrie (a) - WIN Raith Rovers (h) - WIN Falkirk (a) - LOSE Dunfermline (h) - WIN Dumbarton (a) - DRAW That doesn't look great (considering what we've been used to this season ) but that would win the title.
  6. Brilliant video. Once again - hats off to you onethistle guys. Whoever puts these videos together is doing great work.
  7. I think the title will be won in our home match vs. Dunfermline.
  8. Answered your own question there. It's a final. We're never in finals. It's top of the First Division vs. top of the Second Division. It'll be ******* brilliant, and if you're not up for Sunday then God help you. I've been buzzing for about two weeks, it'll be a great day out. I'll be there on Wednesday too, which is the biggest match of the season. But the Challenge Cup final is something different and to be savoured.
  9. I'm just thinking positionally, Hutton for some reason seems to have right-back sewn up to the point that EPL regulars like Martin and Bardsley aren't getting a game, so it'll be tough for O'Donnell to make the breakthrough there. Good luck to him though. Centre-half and left-back are two positions that Scotland don't have much depth and so if Muirhead and Sinclair continue their development they'll be well positioned to gets caps. Bannigan is just a great player with a real engine on him who I can see getting in at some stage.
  10. I was happy enough with Billy Gibson's contributions. Can't really think of anyone else right now though.
  11. Great goalkeeper - I'd be more than happy to have him as our number one in the SPL should we get there.
  12. Coupled with the Cup final, it has the potential to be the most enjoyable week I've had supporting the Jags. Proud of the players. We just need to avoid defeat against Morton...but another 5-0 win under the floodnights would be my preference!
  13. I don't see how us bringing in two players as cover can be viewed as a bad thing. Especially when those players come with rave reviews (McMillan anyway, but the Pars have stressed Dowie's solid too). No need for any negativity around these signings. Good on Archie for making sure we're prepared for any unexpected disruptions.
  14. Winning on Tuesday and going 7 clear would be massive as it'd mean we would stay top even if we lose against Morton. Having said that, I don't think we will (edit: lose to Morton, just to be clear!). Morton need to win, we don't, and as well as being good when taking the game to a team, we're also an excellent counter attacking side. I'm very optimistic now, I see today as the defining day in this title race.
  15. Win our next 3 league matches and it's done. Even assuming Morton win up until the match against us, we'd be 4 ahead with a game in hand. Considering we've got Dunfermline at home still to come, surely that'd be insurmountable. Morton will be a massive match, win it and we've won the title. Draw and we'll be in a great position. Lose and...well, we'll still have a good chance. I really think we'll do it.
  16. Craigen. Apart from that, brilliant. Glad to hear Paton seems OK. It's fantastic that we've got so many players contributing. Craigen having a great game, Doolan having an even better one, we've had Elliott doing well off the bench, Muirhead and Balatoni look unbeatable, Fox has been assured, Bannigan's broke into the U21's, Craig's won us points, Erskine's won us points, Lawless's won us points...it's brilliant. And I've not even mentioned the likes of Welsh, O'Donnell and Sinclair. What a season this has been. What a team we've got, seriously.
  17. 51 goals for the Jags. Highly impressive, well done Dools.
  18. I, too, would be tempted to throw Forbes in from the start tonight. It would be Craigen missing out which could be seen as a little unjust. Tough call. Rest of the team is pretty straight-forward, Doolan in for Craig and have Bannigan on the bench as he played on Monday night. Forbes or Craigen is the big one for me...
  19. Official site has the preview up. Murray definitely missing out, Archie jarred his knee on Monday so his space on the bench is up for grabs and Craig is a doubt. Massive chance for Doolan here to stake his claim.
  20. I've never watched them so I'd be interested to know this also. Was going to go to their game at Troon but it got called off. I'd particularly like to know if Sekhon and Wilson are showing promise?
  21. I've just seen that Craig Reid of Morton is out of contract at the end of the season. He's 27 years old and is - behind Tidser and Bachirou - arguably Morton's best player. He's a centre-half/right-back, would be an ideal signing for us if we were to go up, I think.
  22. Likewise with Bannigan, he's usually first over with the high fives and makes sure everyone gets one from the famous Banzo.
