  1. How lucky were we to have one of Scotland's "top" referees officiating last night? Cannae see a blatant foul - but no' very good at telling the time (thankfully)!
  2. This reminds me of a wet day at Brockville. Because of the weather my pals and I decided to watch from the "Grandstand". At the turnstile a young guy (possibly not that young but a lot younger than me) had his backpack searched and a pint carton of milk was confiscated. A matter of seconds later after entering the "stadium" Bovril was purchased. The water must have reached boiling point seconds earlier. Question for "the powers that be" - Which is more likely to have caused serious physical injury in the event of an accident (or to have been used as a missile)?
  3. Of whom it has been said 3 - WHO? Have we suffered him before?
  4. Does that mean you're bringing 2 friends? The more the merrier!
  5. Watched the highlights on Jagzone (3 times). Who was that guy wearing number 8 who continually passed the ball forwards? According to the team sheet his name is Bannigan but as a regular reader of contributions to topics on this forum, according to some that guy only passes sideways and backwards, so it couldn't possibly have been him!
  6. My usual Sunday morning is to watch MOTD without knowing the Premier League scores from the Saturday. I watch on "catch up" to allow me to fast forward and avoid the "talking heads" punditry and analysis. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this morning. Just highlights and nothing else. What a lot of money the Beeb could save (licence payers/taxpayers money) if this was the norm.
  7. Maybe if there was VAR there widnae huv been a penalty!
  8. When I saw the line-up before the game - no Sneddon, I was a bit apprehensive but fair do's to Mitchell - a great save earlier and then this. Very well done!
  9. Great view. Two points to note. Watch Tiff ghost away from a very central position to move unmarked to the back post, AND watch the blatant foul on Harry Mine in the 6 yard box.. Wonder if we'd have got the penalty if Tiff hadn't scored. Going by the one we didn't get earlier I doubt it.
  10. Totally agree. He was one of my favourite players of that era and I was not a happy bunny when he was sold to Aberdeen but very very pleased when he came back.
  11. The last point I fully understand. Going back to other comments re SPFL - the month of March has 4 weekends of scheduled fixtures. During March Queen's Park are at home FOUR times. How's that for sensible scheduling?
  12. After last night I get excited again which led me to look closely at our (and others) fixtures. Shocked and disappointed to find that ALL of the closing games in our league are schduled for a Friday night instead of the Saturday afternoon. Can somebody clarify whether this is because BBC Scotland are planning a super-duper end of the season round the grounds spectacular, OR all the games had to go to the Friday evening because of Queen's Park (Stenhousemuir are at home on the Saturday)? Imagine (if we still have something to play for) how many Jags fans would go to Kirkcaldy on the Saturday compared to the Friday!
  13. Getting your EX-CUSSERS mixed up with your EX-CUSERS?
  14. Sorry for digging up an almost 2 year old thread and this is not a dig at Jaggernaut! Just that there is a wee bit of a sense of "Deja Vu". An odd goal defeat away to a Premier League team in the Cup - but remember what happened in the weeks that followed.
  15. Mis-typed "Y" where it should have been a "U". Glad it winae an"I"!
  16. Not a rule. Check the wall in front of the "shed". The lower section painted white to provide a background so the punters could see the dugs!
  17. I wasn't there and have only seen Sportscene highlights. Can somebody who was there or saw the game on Viaplay tell me this - did the "injured" villain of the piece receive treatment from the Rangers medical team. I ask because some reports say he received treatment If so he should not have been on the pitch when the shy was taken.
  18. See my previous post. Maybe it wasn't a board decision. Maybe one individual in particular?
  19. Which do you mean? The Jags Trust or the PTFC Trust (the majority shareholder).
  20. The timing of this is totally bizarre. If the decision was made prior to Sunday then there was no good reason to announce it on the club website about 2 hours after the game finished. It could easily have waited until Monday or Tuesday. I have a sneaky feeling that some major disagreement (a serious fa'in oot) happened between the manager and the interim Chairperson and Mr.Smillie had an inconsidered knee-jerk reaction to whatever took place. (Just a theory).
  21. Summer Cup Final - 30th June 1945. Goalie is Jimmy Steadward - the other 2 Jags men ???
  22. Well done to Darvel for their victory, but also for the perfect condition of the pitch. The losers could have absolutely no excuses on that front.
  23. If only there was VAR in those days. What am i saying? They'd probably still have got it wrong! One of the erse cheeks after all.
  24. I agree that is very likely but just imagine if Drumchapel United could beat Elgin - maybe an away tie at Lochburn!
