  1. If that's what we do and we lose, I can accept it as long as the "manager" lets us know what's going on. For example, the Stewart case has me totally confounded. As far as I recall, he's come on with around 10-15 minutes left in a few games, when the result has been all but decided one way or another. How can this show what he has to offer us? Either play him, or ditch him.
  2. I guess ballgirls will simply compound the madness.
  3. I'd like to think that the players would give their all, but I fear that the latter is the more likely scenario.
  4. Let's take a breather here. We don't know what the job entails, but it's clearly something other than football management. Something to do with generating funds, perhaps? In other words, something that we on this forum are always harping on about, but something which demands a hell of a lot of time and energy, maybe more than anybody could do in their "spare time"? And make no mistake about it, if McNamara had been offered a better job elsewhere he'd have gone at the drop of a hat too. The away stand comment is reasonable. But let's go all the way: recent crowds at Firhill wouldn't even fill the away stand, so there's money to be saved there by closing the JH stand entirely. Edited to add: Why not share with Ashfield?
  5. Dunno, but I hope that the Barrs collection bins will be adequately protected from the thieving hands of the mortonian horde!
  6. Not that I'm aware of. The monarchy is mostly thought of as irritating but irrelevant here.
  7. Excellent photies. Too many occurrences of "Partick Thistle Nil" this season!
  8. Wonder how much the club is paying for product placement!
  9. Excellent photies. Hard to re-live.
  10. Last night they announced that Morton had over 16,000 already. It'll be tough to beat that, but any amount will help the cause.
  11. That's about how I saw it too. The defence collectively went to sleep on the 45-minute mark, with the Falkirk players making Boyle look like a monkey with the simplest of flicks. Guy was unmarked in the 6-yard box. Doolan's miss was unbelievable, not that in it was a sitter (he had to slide in for it), but in that I was convinced it was in until it wasn't. It's a shame he couldn't put more power and swerve on the couple of shots he had from just outside the box in the 2nd half. Erskine was occasionally brilliant. Campbell got caught on the ball too often (again). A couple of glimpses of the old Cairney, but not enough. What is it with Thistle players sliding all over the Falkirk pitch? It happened last time, and it happened again, notably twice when Doolan could have been in a with a great chance of scoring.
  12. Armand One, ha ha! When they replayed it in slow motion he was moving at exactly the same speed as in real time! So, does the SFL have camera teams at every match these days? How is this different to, say PTTV or Falkirk TV?
  13. Agreed; excellent post, all except the conclusion about us heading inevitably into oblivion. We as individuals might be ultimately doomed, but the Jags will be here long after we've all given up the ghost.
  14. We could bet on who's likely to lob each idea into the drawer first! Money to be made there, surely.
  15. Beautiful evening ahead, perfect for watching the Jags youngsters as they continue to hone their skills for the assault on the league title next season.....
  16. Pressley: "Well played, Jackie. Tell you what, these Bairns fans show me no respect whatsoever." Jackie: "Pressley, Pressley, What's the Score, Pressley, What's the Score?????"
  17. We aparently don't want nuthin' to do with "British" for the Olympics,......but c'mon, forget that and let's have a wonderful "British Cup" so that our super SPL teams can get a wee bit of money out of playing youth teams from dan saf.
  18. Thanks for the reminder, time for a glass of red red wine.
  19. Wouldn't that just make it petanque on a lawn instead of in the dirt?
  20. While singing that famous Aretha Fraction number, Slay a Little Player for Me.
  21. Same here. I've said this before, but when Hibs had yon black guy Harper who was really fast, from every kick-off he just used to make a bee-line toward the goal and they'd thread a fast ball through to him. I don't know how successful it was in terms of bringing them a goal while the opposition were dozy, but whenever they did it against us I feared the worst (though it didn't come, thankfully).
