  1. If he'd taken a step out before the pass, there's no doubt at all about offside. Graham & Doherty suspended for Betfred Cup game against Morton, so an opportunity for a few to stake a claim. Graham good at the back post for our 1st, and took the 2nd well. As for the equaliser, why oh why can't we take the ball for a walk to the corner flag?
  2. Lindsay hasn't been in the squad all season.
  3. £58,130 now, including £500 donation from David Thomson QC several hours ago. Well done all donors!
  4. Is that Brut & soda, or Brut & Lemon ?
  5. We've not had a clean sheet in any of our league games, so we can start there. I assume Sneddon is still injured. I'm looking for more from Foster. He's not been as commanding as I'd hoped. A couple of goals would help too. We need to be quicker up the park, & less predictable. Falkirk supporters think that their team bottles big games, so let's hope that continues.
  6. Maybe we've found out why our team is looking tired during games. They get up too early on matchdays
  7. I understand where you're coming from, but a substantial sum has been given to the arts, as outlined in a previous post. Sport is included in that ministerial brief, and both an initial sum + Barnett knock on for EFL clubs getting a bail out was promised, but so far not delivered. Again, as previously mentioned, to remove Doncaster or even amend his salary needs SPFL board members to fall in with us malcontents, & that won't happen (yet).
  8. That's three times now that member clubs have rejected the SPFL exec. being given even limited powers to end the season. The member clubs clearly don't trust the exec. and in view of the tricks and "pressure " put upon clubs to end last season, with us as one of the victims, who can blame them. Doncaster still collects his massive salary for doing nothing. Cash from government? Promises of a statement outlining a deal more than a month ago now, but no such statement. Silence - & zero cash. I hoped that he would be on his way to the EFL,& we could get a real exec. with integrity, but no such luck. The SPFL have now hacked off some more clubs with Covid discipline hearings, so hopefully the backlash will grow to give sufficient numbers for change. But we're not there yet. Get him & the board out, & a proper exec with real power in, who can treat all clubs with respect, not just the favoured few.
  9. Mucking around on Google, a Japanese footballer, Kazuyoshi Miura is still playing for Yokohama FC. He's 52 years old! Where's my boots!
  10. McMenemy was 40 years old when he played in the final. He played for the Jags for a further two years. Apart from goalkeepers, any 40 year olds playing professional football today?
  11. Article in today's Glasgow Herald. Jimmy McMenemy's 1921 cup winners medal is being auctioned by McTear's auctioneers on 20 November. Expected to go for £2,000 to £4,000. Price expected to be high, as a non old firm medal sells for a higher price. The article shows a Pathe News clip of the final, and worth reading the article to see that alone! Ah, bring back the old days! Needless to say, not that I could remember this game personally.
  12. For anyone that's still interested, the Cove Rangers match programme from yesterday can be found for free on the club's website programme archive.
  13. watched yesterday on JagsZone. Cove are an extremely ordinary side. No originality in front of goal on our part. Toothless. Why did Spittal put his free kick to the exact spot he scored from last week? The opposition watch games and build profiles of our team, and his Airdrie goal would be in there. We need to vary our attacking style, and I wish players would look up. The number of times a pass rather than a shot would be a better option. As I've said before, we don't have the budget to sack McCall, but his departure might be needed before long, as our patience is running out fast. The prospect of being at the top of the league as the half way stage is a pipe dream now. With regards to Low, she is never a chairman giving direction etc in a million years. Employing Caldwell was unforgivable. But how do we get rid of her? TBC hold the majority of the shares, and she can be there until Colin Weir's cash is pissed into the wind. The only hope is that sufficient pressure and media exposure is put on a malfunctioning administration to make her next steps and conquest impossible, as nobody would touch her with a bargepole, but that in itself makes the sinecure at Firhill the place to be until the cash runs out. Not good. Not good at all.
  14. Graham is getting all over the place. He's just been named as a substitute in the Cove Rangers side named on Twitter
  15. I've also just seen a report in the BBC Scottish football page saying that Jason Leitch is hopeful that fans can return to tier 1 areas of Scotland. He hasn't set any dates, and has said that the situation is "fragile still". No comment on football being stopped.
  16. Sorry for the delay BH, I've been doing some work on my (house) windows, and wanted to get it done before 3:00pm. I saw three reports, in www.football.london the Daily Express and the Daily Mail. The EPL secretary stated that at the least the EPL will continue, and there are no discussions to stop "Operation Restart", i.e .playing football. I'm afraid I've not learned to do links yet. I got the pages from keying "national lockdown and football" into Google.
  17. News reports state that English football will continue despite any lockdown.
  18. I thought Boris's national lockdown was for England only?
  19. Tax on sales (output tax) will be partly offset by tax on purchases (input tax), so the net VAT payable will be less than this.
  20. I fully agree with this. I'm a bit surprised at the takeup, but if this is repeated or exceeded at the Falkirk game, it helps the club. Well done to Norgethistle for picking this up.
  21. Cove Rangers have put their match programmes from their home games against Hibs and East Fife on their club website for free. Not sure if this is done at the time of the game or later. So the programme for tomorrow's game may be there close to the match.
  22. An announcement was made on 5 October by Joe Fitzpatrick, the SG Minister that funding would be available for Scottish football. Agreement in principle had been made with Nigel Huddlestone, the UK government Under Secretary of State for sport tourism and heritage. No exact figures were agreed, and negotiations were "ongoing". Clarity was needed on consequential Barnett funding, as funding had been made elsewhere. That, I'm afraid, is the last we have heard of that. I have sympathy for the Peterhead part time and full time hospitality and other staff who are casualties of this ongoing situation. Peterhead may actually be one of the clubs who will benefit from fans being allowed back early, but I think that it has come too late for these people. I don't like anyone losing their means of income, due to circumstances wholly outside their control. It's also fair to say that for the reduced number of attendees allowed, and the cost of security etc that may not be the blessing it seems. I don't know how many season tickets the club has sold. JLS is right that the SFA and SPFL should be working their butts off to help our clubs, but so far, nothing further has been said about any (or the lack of) negotiations. The SG gave the arts £91 million Covid funding, and I don't grudge that either. But football does need a fair crack of the whip, but I'll desist from saying anything about whips, SG / UK government ministers and SFA / SPFL execs, and at least letting clubs know what the hell is going on. Can somebody in authority please tell us what is happening? So far the only cash for Scottish football has come from benefactors, and that plainly is just not good enough. The lack of communication on this issue is, frankly, embarrassing.
  23. The referee should be eagle-eyed, & spot any fowls. If he has a bad performance, he'll be called before the beak!!
  24. This looks to be Shawfield, and a complete guess at the players and year. I think around 1953. Jags no 6 is Andy Kerr. The other Jagsman in the foreground is Bobby Howitt. Don't know who the Thistle player in the background is. Could the Clyde player who (I'd imagine) is challenging for the ball be Tommy Ring? The only thing I feel I may have got right is the ground being Shawfield, but I'm sure you'll let me know!
