Meister Jag
£26 on a Wednesday night in December!! Aye nae bother!! Well haud me back; well maybe not. Undecided. A good run of form could see me making the effort. But does anyone else get the feeling that Celtic would rather that we didn't bother going? At prices like this, maybe they don't want their own fans to go. Yet another reason to hate them.

mgow
One of my favourite Thistle goals ever. Maybe even my favourite. Personally, I enjoyed both our goals in that game. I wasn't happy at the time, but looking back I think we owe a debt of gratitude to that dodgy linesman. I mean, how often will you get to see Thistle score a late equaliser there TWICE? Richard Nixon
Can they announce who the winner is beforehand? I mean, obviously it'll be Celtic, but it would be worth going if it's our once-every-two-decades victory over them. But it won't be. Probably. stillresigned
I have to admit to being decidedly not champing at the bit over this game or the admission price. It does go to show the stupidity of the Scottish footballing authorities for not switching the original fixture to Firhill, no doubt the currant buns were playing at Inrox or some other such excuse: though from memory didn't they have their game postponed too?q
thisal
I love how everyone says they'll avoid Ibrox and Parkhead, but everyone saw our victories.
Jaggernaut
I love how everyone says they'll avoid Ibrox and Parkhead, but everyone saw our victories. If you mean victories at Ibrox and Parkhead, that's going back some! Our record against those two teams in the last 30 years or so must be by far the worst of any of the top 12 or 14 clubs in the country. Paddy Thistle
I for one will be giving it a miss, massively over priced for a crap view and over zealous stewarding
lady-isobel-barnett
Might well give this one a miss. As mentioned they don't want you attending anyway.l very rarely miss a game. Aberdeen (on a Monday night) and Celtic (on New years Day) are the only two I've not been at in the last few seasons. I'm assuming you have to buy a ticket in advance? Ruchillnomore
Ah the 1-1 draw with Celtic. Living proof by Tom Smith that as an away team you have to score twice to get a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park. Perfectly good goal not given however made the equaliser all the more sweeter
Albert's Ghost
I was right down at the corner flag when Chico delivered those two almost identical inswingers on to Tom's napper. Happy days!
Members Willjag
That was a great goal! Only equaled in celebration by Billly Gobson's goal at Peterhead and Dools Cup equaliser at Livvy. Caught in a wave of celebration that carried me about 20 yards down the terracing right behind the goal at the time. Am I correct in recalling that the 1st goal was perfectly legit but the eventual equaliser was much more doubtful?
Ruchillnomore
First goal was perfectly ligit from what I can remember just remember celebrating and the the feeling of utter despair when the ref never gave it. Then for the next couple of minutes the usual feeling of being a Thistle fan and nothing going your way and then back post header 1-1 and there was nothing the ref could do about it celebrations like you have never seen before that and it was a huge Thistle attendance at the game. I think what made it even more sweeter from what I remember it was tight at the bottom of the table and Kilmarnock were getting a result against Rangers which made our game and result even more important
H Wragg
I may have my timeline on offside wrong but I reckon the first goal may be legit nowadays but was correctly ruled offside at the time. Members Willjag
Thanks for that H Wragg. Yeah, sure that offside was given for Roddy Grant (?) following in Tom's first header after Bonnar's fumble. Never interfering with play! I think the Lineo bottled it to award offside for the second after Lambie and Collins gave him dog's abuse for chalking off the first! Forgot all about P.C. Murdochs rush of blood to the head for their goal as well.
Westend Jag
I remember thinking at that game we had taken some amount of fans to Parkhead that day and feeling proud to be a young Jag, also mind going nuts at both our goals with my big brother then copying the pulling the shorts up like Chic did everytime I took a corner for my own team from then on... great memories
michael m
Who can forget that Parkhead game! The first attempt ruled offside by a certain linesman called Jim McGilvary! When the second one went in the referee, Bobby Orr, didn't even look at his colleague he just gave the goal!
The Sunnylaw Jag
I see that Fritz has started a Jags fans no going to Parkhead Facebook page. Check it out.

I'm not quite sure if you're agreeing with me or not but I think at that time the first goal may have been legitimitely ruled offside as you didn't have to be interfering with play. Richard Nixon
Here's the highlights. http://youtu.be/tTglpLzhpn4 So long ago it might as well be in black & white ... having said that - are those orange seats inside Celtic Park? Happy days. There's nothing like the legitimate disallowed goal against one of the Old Firm, it's traditional.

So long ago now I can't remember that exact ruling, but, I seem to remember it was you had to be interfering with play whereas nowadays you are seeking to gain an advantage by being in an offside position. I would argue that Roddy wasn't interfering with play (wasn't trying to connect with the ball and wasn't in it's path), so the goal should have stood. Spanish Jag
Not so much between the the two teams that season. Nine-point gap that would end being ten after the last day of the season. Table after May 4th. imag Edited November 14, 2014 by Spanish Jag
