Jaggernaut
With apologies for the disappointing content of this one, can anybody provide details?
potty trained
David Byrne? Phil O'Donnell's debut, scored two, I think. Edited May 27, 2015 by potty trained
Jaggernaut
David Byrne? Phil O'Donnell's debut, scored two, I think. It looks a bit like Byrne, who played in that match (10th Sep, 1994). You're right about O'Donnell's two goals. Craig Nelson just failing to keep this one out.

The Sunnylaw Jag
Can I take a guess that it's Bobby Evans of Celtic on the far right?
paralytic thistle
sure is, but for the the life of me I can't put a name to the Thistle players
jaggy
Is there any reason why there seems to be a large amount of old pics from games v. Celtic compared to other teams? I guess the press mainly covered the OF as usual, but there doesn't seem to be many old pre-70's pics of games v. Rangers
lady-isobel-barnett
sure is, but for the the life of me I can't put a name to the Thistle players My first guess would've been Ewing and Harvey but I've no confidence whatsoever.
Jaggernaut
That's not Firhill, is it? ETA: I don't think that either Jag is Harvey or Ewing..... Edited May 28, 2015 by Jaggernaut

I guess the press mainly covered the OF as usual, but there doesn't seem to be many old pre-70's pics of games v. Rangers I'd be surprised if there were not so many old photos of Jags against the ancestral sevco as well. The reason that I've posted a large number of Thistle vs. the Porkheid side is simply that I have a fanatical 'Tic-supporting friend who enjoys digging out old photos of games between the two teams and sending them to me. In fact here's the latest one. Easy for the more senior guys to recognise the three players in this one.

Jaggernaut
Hogan, Niven, Lennox. It sure is. The caption for the photo is brilliant: "Celtic's BOBBY LENNOX is odd man out in this incident at Parkead in which Partick Thistle goalkeeper GEORGE NIVEN is clutching the ball, with team-mate Joe Hogan walking away, supremely confident in George's ability to retain possession." They don't write them like that any more.

It's John Anderson for Thistle vs. Celtic at Celtic Park in Dec 1951 a 2-1 defeat. The pic came from John's son Andrew.
