kni
Steve Clarke is going to Reading so that's one rumoured McCoist successor off the list.
The Cup
John Potter has replaced Jeffries for the moment. One diddy for another. Does anyone remember Potter jumping up and catching the ball as Lawless (?) was about to run through on goal? I don't think he got booked for it either. Paton seems to be a charming fellow. At 27 years of age you would think he would have grown up already.
Duck snort
Paton seems to be a charming fellow. At 27 years of age you would think he would have grown up already. Hayes has said on Twitter that Paton didn't spit on him so no idea why the SFA have still charged him.
G SUS
Hayes has said on Twitter that Paton didn't spit on him so no idea why the SFA have still charged him. The compliance officer issues Notices of Complaint to players on Mondays. It is presumably sent First Class post to the clubs. In a bid to keep transparency, they've announced every player that they have issued of a NoC to, which they do on a Tuesday(so the player/club have notice of it first). Hayes came out on social media this afternoon saying he had done nothing, but the SFA had already issued the NoC and have to be transparent and publicise it. Paton will reject the 2 game ban, the hearing will be on Thursday and he'll be cleared.
kni
More mayhem at Ibrox as Neal Alexander wins £84k from Sevco. Rangers have appealed an SPFL tribunal decision to award Neil Alexander £84,000 after he won a breach of contract claim against the club. STV understands the former Ibrox goalkeeper was successful in proving to a panel recently that he was due the money as part of a contractual agreement which the club reneged upon. Alexander, who now plays for Hearts, was due to receive an increase in wages and bonuses if his competitor for the number one jersey, Allan McGregor, left the club. McGregor quit Rangers for Besiktas in 2012 after successfully terminating his contract when it was moved between two companies under TUPE regulation. It is understood Rangers argued that McGregor did not technically "transfer" away from the club given the circumstances. But the tribunal ruled he did, meaning Alexander's contract clause was valid. twinny
Funny that with Sevco Rangers, they use one argument worth the Dundee United kid and another with Alexander.
kni
Funny that with Sevco Rangers, they use one argument worth the Dundee United kid and another with Alexander. Yes and STV reports that BDO, on behalf of Deadco, wants a large slice of the Telfer money. However the bit that caught my eye was " Having already secured a cash pot of £24.3m for the creditors of RFC 2012 plc, the liquidators are continuing to work to try and recover as much money as possible before paying out a final dividend." `Where on earth did all that money come from? yoda-jag
" Having already secured a cash pot of £24.3m for the creditors of RFC 2012 plc, the liquidators are continuing to work to try and recover as much money as possible before paying out a final dividend." `Where on earth did all that money come from? it came from the lawyers that craig whyte used when acquiring rangers. bdo took them to task over their involvement, and reached a settlement of £24.3m http://m.accountancyage.com/aa/news/2382618/bdo-liquidators-win-gbp24m-for-rangers-creditors supposed to be for the creditors, but from what i've read, some (or all? surely not) "proceeds will be used to part fund the ongoing defence of Rangers use of an employee benefits trust to remunerate its players and staff" in the ongoing hmrc ebt's battle. duff and phelps are next on bdo's hit list. kni
^ Thanks for that. My guess was that some of the EBT beneficiaries could have paid some or all of their money back. The Duff & Phelps action should be entertaining. Can BDO claim on their professional indemnity insurance?
yoda-jag
^^^don't be silly, the ebt's will remain unpaid, it's not as if there was any documentation with a "repay by" date, so as wrong as they were, there's no legal leg to stand on for bdo to recover these "loans". or certainly not before any recipient stops breathing. there is an argument they could claim back each ebt individually, as creditor on each individuals estate, but unlikely such an action of recourse would be persued. d and p can claim whatever, they are in it beyond their necks in the big stitch up. The Sunnylaw Jag
What I loved was the fact that all those legends put their hands in their very deep pockets and said, "here you go lad's, here's the loan money you gave me, back, this will help save the club."
