Embarrased...........really Embarrased

Lost count of the number of 50/50 challenges that Jags players pulled out of. No fight at all. :(

That was absolutely the worst part of it for me.For a bunch of players who are almost all out of contract next season the lack of dig is astonishing. There is just such an acceptance of defeat in that squad.Rowsen was the only one I heard trying to gee up the team. The "crazy gang" mentality of the Lambie teams is what's needed,a McVicar,Pitman,Craig,Chico,Britton,Lennon would have had half these imposters up against the dressing room wall at half time.

I have never been so depresed after a game as I was after yesterdays.

I've seen us mugged so many times since January, where I at least though we played well but yesterday was just shocking.

I'm usually quite optimistic but after us losing to Morton, Cowdenbeith and Stirling i'm actually proper shitting it. On paper we should have 9 more points than we have at present and be in a pretty good position - in actuality we are bottom of the pile and IMHO our next chance of ANY points is away to Stirling in October. This is worrying.

We lost yesterday because of poor substitutions by McCall. Buchanan was fair enough - I was hoping he would be off at half time, but what does McCall have against Balatoni? Maxwell if anybody in defence should have been off. We cannot afford to have Erskine in any team - he doesn't defend, track back or win the ball, he just waits for the ball to be given to him and runs with no end result. Where was Flannigan? Why take off a striker who has scored 4 goals in 3 games, when nobody else seem capable? Why can Grehan only score in games with no spectators?

FFS McCall, after the Dundee game all was good, now I don't know how long you can hang on.

I used to take consolation from the fact that Chisholm was making an arse of it at Dundee, but now we've hit the bottom ...

I suspect his confidence is shot and he dreads playing in front of the support that have turned against him. He's shown in the past (and apparently in closed door friendlies) that he is a decent player. Another Paddy Boyle like resurrection would be great!

There's a lot of chat about how we can't afford to sack McCall. Is there any chance there might be a performance related clause in his contract that might kick in soon?

Worth a shout, surely. Particularly if some of the stories about I McC spending his afternoons in pub/bookies etc are true.

As much as it pains me to say it, we're pretty much in a Campbell Mk II situation here. One of the (many) things that ate me up about that fiasco was the fact that it was clear that Campbell wasn't being managed by the chairman or whoever was notionally his line manager. Campbell's 'half-a-shift-and-offski' work ethic was well-known. There really was no need for us to have to fork out the reputed £85k or whatever to an incompetent, workshy employee with a crap attitude towards the job.

Cowan, allegedly, is a lawyer. While he probably doesn't specialise in Employment Law, he must have available contact with somebody who does. Spending regular afternoons in the bookies and boozers, if corroborated, would normally constitute gross misconduct. In our current predicament, I McC should be suspended (on full pay) pending investigation into his alleged misconduct. The team would meanwhile be run, temporarily, by some of our venerable coaching staff. If the allegations against I McC are proven, he could be summarily dismissed, costing the club nothing.

This approach, however, requires active management of the situation. To fail to do so would be an indictment on the chairman or whichever director is responsible for the management of the football manager.

All that would hold up in practice, unless we have been foolish enough to allow I McC contractual free rein to do virtually anything he pleases.

It is really embarrassing that we have to talk about survival not promotion. However, this is reality. The mission in this season is to finish 8th.

When we have more fans than Hamilton or ICT, we can talk about promotion.

We do have more fans that Hamilton and ICT. Always will have. Even if currently they are not turning up to games.

Much as I don't like grammar pedants, as I believe they tend to put people off posting for fear of ridicule...
