MWM
After a few shandies last night I returned home to read the aftermath of yesterdays game, and as wound up as I was at 5 o'clock, but intoxicated, I decided to send the chairman an e-mail, and after reading it again, I was surprised how diplomatic I was despite how pretty drunk I was at the time, although it seems a few home truths may have hurt our chairmans feelings. After discussion this with another fan I decided some people might like to read what he had to say.... chair@ptfc.co.uk * [email protected] * * Send e-mail * Find e-mail Add to contacts To Michael McGhee From: [email protected] Sent: 12 September 2010 11:31:48 To: Michael McGhee ([email protected]) Michael Ok then - when are you going to offer to take on the resposibility of running this football club since you think you could do so much better ? I look forward to hearing Allan Cowan Quoting Michael McGhee <[email protected]>: > > It is clear under your leadership that you cannot take the club > anywhere but down, and the contributions of you, McMaster, Hughes > and Prentice have been nothing short of disasterous. Yellow & Redneck
Your e-mail to Cowan was very diplamatic, and his reply was very arrogant to say the least. Just shows you the kind of people at the helm of this club.

Yellow & Redneck
In protest every Jags fan should send an e-mail to Mr.Cowan at exactly the same time, maybe he would get the message literally, when 1000 e-mails flood into his inbox at the same time. mearnsjag
If this is genuine, this is a dreadful response from someone in his position. It does seem he is out his depth and his response does suggest he's open to offers.
Junior
Thats a really embarassing email for anyone in that position to send. Makes him look like a total twat... oh wait ...
lady-isobel-barnett
Is this a bam up? Is Mr. Cowan actually 9 years old? At least Mr Cowan's reply wasn't enshrouded in indecipherable legalese. Not one thereinafter or hitherto incorporated within the aforesaid's e-missive. Things are looking up, I tell yas
northernsoul
Arrogance displayed from Cowan? Shock horror. They can bang on all they want about being Thistle minded or Jags fans. They're not Thistle fans and will run this Club into the ground. They'll put keeping their jobs before the survival of the Club.
Jaggernaut
Thanks for sharing this! Brilliant direct action, and a good example of the Board's take on things.

Members Willjag
Stuff the shares, and stuff the place on the Board, JagsTrust Board, if you want backing from the fans, at the next meeting raise a vote of no confidence in the Chairman and demand his resignation. If you were a JagsTrust member NS, you could request the Trust carry this out. They're there to represent the fans after all.
JobbyMahoney
Pretty embarassing stuff all round. When someone sends a pissed e-mail that essentially just slags you off the best thing to do is simply ignore it, rather than fan the flames. Cowan's response does sum things up though. Everyone wants rid of him, but where's the queue to replace him? Edited September 12, 2010 by JobbyMahoney
hamiltonjag
Copy the original post folks cos I've got a feeling Mr Cowan might put some pressure on Admin to remove this thread. I may be wrong though.

Everyone wants rid of him, but where's the queue to replace him? To become Chairman of a famous Scottish Football Club? There'll be a queue. Anyway, MWM why not reply saying you're happy to admit that you're not skilled enough to run Partick Thistle. When is he going to admit the same? Yellow & Redneck
I think for Cowan to request this thread is deleted would only further highlight his complete incompetence as chairman of our great club. I'd like to say thank you for this e-mail being sent, its great to see a pro-active approach, and Cowans reply only further indicates his lack of care and consideration for Partick Thistle and it's supporters. Blackpool Jags
Michael Ok then - when are you going to offer to take on the resposibility of running this football club since you think you could do so much better ? I look forward to hearing Allan Cowan As sanctimonious and inept as this reply to you is Michael, I'd love to see you call his bluff by responding, offering him two weeks to formally tender his resignation, clear his desk and make way for yourself as his replacement. He really is a millstone round the neck of our club. An arrogant man to boot, judging by his disdain for Thistle fans in general.
Big Col
It doesn't surprise me. I sent him an e-mail after our four nil gubbing from Clyde asking him to remove DC from his post as if things continued under him, we would be battling relegation IMO. He replied calling me a pessimist and told me to support the team iunstead of slagging off the manager. Who was right then Mr Cowan? His arrogance is breath-taking, but taking an earlier point, does this mean that he would be willing to step aside if enough pressure was put on him or is he just being an ar5e?
