yoda-jag
So the Celtic home match gets preference over most other senior games. Of course. Imagine the outcry from SellicPark if their match was off while other games went ahead. Conspiracy and perceptions of vendetta against the great unwashed, can't have that, they'd explode in a green snotty rage. Gijs de Jong, the KNVB's competition manager, told media in Holland: "When we heard there were death treats, we pulled out." it's clearly not the dutch referees who are filling in for their scotch counterparts. Another lovely nugget of info those from outwith our borders can add to their knowledge of our country - we really do have so much to thank the Ugly Sisters for. honved
Rumours abound that it is African countries that will supply the refs.
John Blutarsky
SFA spokesman said So the Celtic home match gets preference over most other senior games. biggest threat of litigation comes first from the sat broadcasters and then biggest clubs. very unliley that anyone outside of biggest spl clubs could afford to pursue football authorities. they're just covering their backsides. GrantB
Since many associations have shown solidarity with the Scottish refs, will we be singing 'whose the scab in the black' at the ref that takes our game on Saturday? Assuming our game goea ahead of course...
Jaggernaut
Stirling Albion website says they'll be informed at 4 pm this afternoon.

The Incredible Adam Spark
Yup. The games going ahead are: Challenge Cup Final; all SPL games (including Celtic's); all Scottish Cup games (a few of which will probably be lost to adverse weather conditions); Morton v Falkirk. Ancipital
Any word on re-arrangement? I note the other SFL postponed games are going ahead on Tuesday, can we put this one back to the original date or do we have to play it then? Would guess both teams are now fairly sick of the sight of each other and a Tuesday later in the season might draw a tiny bit more of a crowd. lady-isobel-barnett
The game might have been in doubt re the weather. As I said before given the circumstances of our fixture I think in general we'll be one of the least bothered set of supporters. Really tough on the home clubs re lost revenue and cash flow. Paddy Thistle
I delighted our game's off as I really couldn't be bothered going to Stirling again in such a short space off time. I just pray and hope Celtic have a dodgy decision go against them on Saturday
lady-isobel-barnett
I'd guess depending on us beating Falkirk in the Cup the Stirling game will revert back to Tues 22nd Mar. If Falkirk were to beat us the fixture could be brought forward to Sat 5th Feb.
Milo
Coming from another angle was anyone not slightly surprised when Willie Collum got the OF game? Given he didn't exactly come out that game being covered with praise he then goes and gets given the Hibs v Hearts game. Is it possible that other so called top refs have been knocking back the higher profile games? I'm of the opinion that all this nonsense has been on a slow burner and Neil Lennon's inane ramblings have only provided that little extra to get the fire going. Excellent post, Lady I. Well, Celtic will have their wish on Saturday when their game with the pretender Thistle will be refereeed by someone who is, presumably, not part of the Great Scottish Anti-Sellick Conspiracy. He may be from France or Botswana or even Tierra del Fuego. It will be interesting to see what decisions are given. My money's on a World-wide Conspiracy theory come 5:00pm on Saturday! yoda-jag
I wasn't going to go on Saturday anyway, once it had been confirmed earlier this week that the terracing was not to be opened this time round.
Junior
According to BBC the refs are coming from Poland , Portugal and Isreal . WOuld be ****** awesome if they gave the Celtic game to the Isrealis

erzamacaroonbars
Football is a game of judgment. Refs make decisions quickly and from whatever vantage point they have at the time. Nobody in a dugout has the same view and are generally yards away from the incident so can not have a clear view. Would Refs decisions be different if they could look at a TV monitor and watch a replay before making a decision? Players make decisions quickly (tackle, don't tackle, shoot, don't shoot) but of course they get them right every time as its only refs that make mistakes. Mr Lennon and Mr Reid should shut up and look at their own club - Mr Reid appointed Tony Mowbray which he said was a mistake, did he resign? Its supposed to be a game relying on human judgement which can be both variable and different to our own, that's what makes it so good! Neil Lennon war an angry wee nyaff as a player and obviously now as a manager!
Meister Jag
Gijs de Jong, the KNVB's competition manager, told media in Holland: "When we heard there were death treats, we pulled out." it's clearly not the dutch referees who are filling in for their scotch counterparts. So what have the actions of the club with the greatest fans on earth done for the image of Scotland? All this does is to highlight what we already know, that we're stuck in a country where the paranoid and mentally ill are running riot... but good to see how Dr Reid has been able to bring new skills into the administration of the game in Scotland.
