If as it seems the case Billy Allan is now running the club( 2 new directors appointed from Europa)surely if watching todays embarrassment there must be serious alarm bells now ringing around Firhill> what was obvious from todays abysmal display is that we can not leave everything up to Rowson he needs help>, but Allan faces a dilemna if we don't invest in some experienced players (especially defenders) we look doomed ,a spell in Division 2 looms and that would kill off the Jags, so come on Billy splash some cash

It pains me to say it but Dundee look the banker bet next week (hope I'm wrong)

where's the supposed Jag's supporting Euro-lottery winner when we need him???

seriously though, any true Jag's fan with £161M in his bank account would have thrown a small amount our way

Agree with this 100%...even a wee million quid..in fact even 100k....why tell the world your jags fan????

I know if it was me....i would be putting a healty wedge into the club

Great. One ugly defeat and everybody at the club gets it in the neck. Time for some Vom porn, perhaps. Wasn't the Centenary Club draw late? Where's the Greig and Sandy show? What's happening with Propco? See that Dick Campbell? He's crap. :D

A wee word to the wise ... most of the people who have joined the board in the Allan/Beattie era/error have their cash in the property company. Follow the money.

To be fair there have been quite a few on here worried about what this season is gonna bring (myself included) We have a rookie manager, a rookie assistant manager, a team loaded with inexperienced players and we have just been beaten by Berwick Rangers...not Glasgow Rangers!! There has been little or no investment in the team and there is no doubt that the league is harder this year with Hamilton and Livi in it. Will Scott Fox be as good this year? Will Kris Doolan be top goalscorer in the division, Will Balatoni be as effective, will Tommy Stewart score plenty...Archie and Rowser are another year older. Personally I would only be confident that Scott will be as successful as last season. If Dools goals dry up we are in big trouble with no other real back up. Yesterday was awful...lets remember it was Berwick we were playing!! We have a real hard start to the league campaign and if we get off to the same start we did last year I think we are in big trouble

Yeah that was strange to announce to all and sundry your a jags fan. It's his money and he can do what he wants with it but why mention us at all.

Of course he could still do something and just not announce it. Think there is a good few of us who post on here, had we won that amount, would have already been to Firhill to make a donation to the club.

If he even donated a years worth of his interest only, we would probably be the best off team in this country. Yeah, its his money, but if he is as big a supporter as he was made out to be, it would be nice if he could donate a nice sum to help his club, who lets face it are in a financial mess!!

I agree with this. The question for me would be - would I simply hand over a wodge of cash to individuals whom I've never met and know very little about, or would I attach some strings, like a business plan I'd had drawn up? In short, I'd want the money to be used to best effect, so how would I ensure that that would happen?

First off, I'd insist on at least two to three supporters having a say at boardroom level, and I know which fans they'd be for me; if they were prepared to take on that responsibility that is.

Thing is, it all is just if's and but's at the moment.

After the Celtic performance yeah there was some OTT optimisim but even taking that aside, the usual merchants of doom, had their go, belittled all who dared to be positive. Now Saturday has happened, no one is happy, but the usual doom merchants just loaded up both barrells and let rip. While the Celtic game was never going to prove that we are a promotion candidates, the Berwick match is not necessarilary going to prove that we are relegation candidates.

What seems to be the case is that if the team work together and perform, then we look a useful side.......when we don't, we look an awful one.

There is a lot of hard work to be done.....I don't think anyone denies that. I was born in 71, I've followed the jags for as long as i can remember....the current squad is no where near the best we have had in that time, but it is a million miles off being the worst.

Jackie deserves every opportunity to coach the side and see if he can become a good manager. Since his appointment, it is clear with some on here he is not going to get that chance.....fair enough, that is up to them. Just a shame that guys who claim to support Partick Thistle post in such a mannor that they give the impression they want Jackie to fail and the club to get relegated just so they can come on here and tell us all how right they were and how the rest of us are "fuds, A@seholes, delusional".......you can fill in the rest for yourself.

Saturday's result was totally unacceptable, we all know that, lets give the lads a chance to make amends before we right the whole lot of them off.

Jebbs works with his son mate! Obviously the boy has jacked in his job now though.

But apparently about a week after they went public they got a phone call from their local sorting office. They had a skip full of begging letters waiting for them - A SKIP FULL !

That Tom Hughes is a really determined guy isn't he!

Should have had a Season Ticket for Hospitality hand delivered to him with no strings attached.

What happened on Saturday was embarrassing yes, but there is no need to be calling out the powers that be at this stage.

If we start this campaign in the same vain as or worse than last season then maybe, but really the alarm bells shouldn't be ringing now here or at any club after 2 competitive games.

Cup shocks do happen.

For goodness sake!!!! Will people calm down. Yes the Berwick defeat was hellish, but we have got to give Jackie a fair crack of the whip at this. I have been on here as saying he was the wrong man for the job, but now hes there you cannot judge so quickly and harshly. Yes if we have a nightmare start to the league questions will be asked, and especially of the board who took the cheapest and easiest option available.

And if anybody thinks that Jackie was going to refuse a job to start his managerial career, because we have no cash, is deluded.NO-ONE would turn a job down, so dont be too quick to go for him.

We knew we were in financial excrement, so I dont understand why people are complaining about the lack of funds being spent.

We will have to wait and see what Jackie does with his players as a reaction to Saturdays apalling defeat. But meantime lets give them ALL our backing.

My main concern would be Ayr and most notably Livingston are not going to the cannon fodder Cowden and Stirling were. Livi might even get promoted.

Livi have certainly got off to an impressive start. Neither Livi or Ayr will be pushovers. If we were to continue along the same sort of form as saturday, I think we all know where we'll end up.

We had a bad day at the office on Saturday, just have to hope that is all it was. Here's hoping we get back to the sort of performance we gave against Celtic and Dundee under estimate us the way we did against Berwick.

Certainly there are no certainties for bottom two places this season. What makes it worse is last season, bar one occasion out of eight, we couldn't even have regarded either Cowden or the Binos as cannon fodder.

One thing's for certainty and that's we don't have the squad equipped for the proverbial relegation dog fight. I do tho' feel we'll be nowhere near that end of the table but we really need to get points early on.

County will struggle even with Adams back. Elvis has lost several key players but will not get the transfer cash to reinvest. The Doonhamers have also lost key players and have no money to spend.

We will be okay provided that the spine of the team (Fox, Archibald, Rowson and Doolan) are fit and in good form. If not, we will struggle and could find ourselves in a relegation dogfight.

I'd imagine they'd have been told to expect the begging letters, but if he is a Jags fan, a cash injection to the club doesn't come under that category. Thistle would be in the top 3 priorities, family, friends, Thistle. Then all the charity shite can be dealt with later if you so choose.

Shouldn't have to though. Again, if he is a Jags fan it shouldn't matter.

Maybe in time he will get round to it, and at the moment is caught up with legal advice and investment lessons and all that shite. (I've never had the pleasure of scooping a lottery win so I don't know what happens next).

I just hope he didn't say he is a Thistle man just to avoid being exposed as a hu.n or a tim. That would be disappointing.
