Chicofan
Was wondering last night if I was the only one who preferred mushy marrowfat peas with their scotch pie? Â Don't mind beans but always thought they are bit sweet to have with a pie! Â Thoughts? Â Oh and chips or not?
gianlucatoni
Beans and chips (fat ones not thin scraggly ones)  OR  Gravy and chips (no beans)  OR  One of those old school City Bakeries type ones topped with mash and dried out beans   How on earth could you consider eating a pie with peas ya weirdo! honved
The positioning of the beans is important in order to avoid early crust collapse. Peas are a no no.

Jaggernaut
I eat peas with honey. Â I've done it all my life. Â It makes the peas taste funny. Â But it keeps them on the knife.
uberteeb
I wouldn't eat a regular peh if I wasn't at a football game. Â If I'm on a steak and ale number it's gotta come with peas (those big fat tinned things not the wee frozen ones) and mash.

Way back in time, 50's, the Tallies always had pie and mushy marrowfat peas with lots of malt vinegar. I'll have to pick some up today to stop the drooling.
