Jaggernaut
They've always been an embarrassment. This is just another example of it, albeit a highly enjoyable one.
McKennan
Fecked, no. I think the SPL might be on the end of the bigger fecking when it comes to credibility and finances. Interesting times. Thank you for posting that one.
jagscast
You're welcome. Early reports suggest that Portsmouth are heading the same way today!
thomas
Soooooooooooo.........how many rules will the sfa and spl bend to prevent relegation to div 3/points deduction Edited February 13, 2012 by thomas
twinny
Soooooooooooo.........how many rules will the sfa and spl bend to prevent relegation to div 3/points deduction There will be a points deduction. Don't see why they would be relegated, the Gretna and Livingston debacles were caused by an inability to guarantee fixtures would be fulfilled (and in Gretna's case assurances to the SFL regarding their grounds suitability for hosting senior football), and in both cases this was an SFL decision not an SPL one. Gordie
I'm worried, this could be a bad day for all clubs who owe debt to banks, if they lose money will they call all debt in from all clubs? As for rangers, I couldn't give a flying ****.
Norgethistle
The administration is to try to fend off the tax man, they don't have the tax bill yet so they are trying to get out of it by being in administration firstly so they can tell the tax man you can't touch us were in admin, and your not our major creditor at time of administration

Norgethistle
Does the fact that the tax bill is disputed mean that HMRC are not currently considered a creditor? Yes, until the judgement is delivered (next week!!) they are not a creditor
McKennan
A friend of mine wondered aloud: "Why now?" Perhaps the length and depth of the shaft has been established.
Norgethistle
If I remember correctly were rangers not the only club during the save the jags days that tried to charge us for a signed ball/top to auction off where Man u etc all supplied them? Blackpool Jags
I would just so love to see the Tims rolling up their troosers to join them for them for a wee paddle up shit creek way. The Itchy & Scratchy of Scottish fitba obliterated for once and for all. How good would that be? Ok, one at a time will do.

The deduction in the SPL is 10 points, which will still leave the h u n s comfortably in 2nd place ahead of their wee Embra cousins. What would be more interesting is the reaction of UEFA regarding h u n s in Europe.
kni
How would administration affect the loans of Cole and Naismith? When clubs go into administration, players that are not needed (especially those on subsidised loans) are made redundant. High earners are offloaded quickly too so there could be a few "big names" looking for new clubs.
Lindau
Something not quite right here! Why are they going into admin BEFORE any tax decision has been announced. It either means they are fecked even without the tax situation being taken into account or they sense there is a way of getting out of paying the tax bill when the inevitable happens and they lose the case. Wouldnt trust these feckers as far as I could throw them!

They may be in for a wee shock
scotty
Looks like Dundee Utd will lose out on their money from the cup tie at Ibrox.

What would be more interesting is the reaction of UEFA regarding h u n s in Europe. Yup, that is one of many interesting things about this. Does anyone know the ins and outs of the Financial Fair Play regulations? A quick google search has told me that exclusions from UEFA competition can only start in 2014-15 unfortunately, but it is calculated over a three year period. How would administration affect the loans of Cole and Naismith? When clubs go into administration, players that are not needed (especially those on subsidised loans) are made redundant. High earners are offloaded quickly too so there could be a few "big names" looking for new clubs. Dundee managed to offload everyone except their high earners, so it is hard to predict. It may be in the interests of an administrator to keep as many names as possible as fans won't show up to watch an even diddier bunch of diddies than the current bunch of diddies they watch now. Looks like Dundee Utd will lose out on their money from the cup tie at Ibrox. If so that is pretty disgraceful.
