martyptfc
Just heard a rumour from a Celtic fan that McCourt has been offered to us (probs on loan) and Balde is training with us at the moment. Probs just bull but anyone heard anything about this?
Santana
Paton put of facebook a few weeks ago that Balde is training with us. Don't see us signing him though unless he was willing to play for free, no need for a centre-half either. McCourt would be a ridiculously good signing but it won't happen. jaggy
McCourt = a poor man's Erskine LOLs I heard the Balde training thing ages ago, nowhere near as good as Archie
Lindau
Would take McCourt on a short term loan if wee Stevie was gonna be out for a while
Chicofan
Can't see this happening surely McCourt would go to a bigger club on loan?? and Balde..he must be about 65..
Armand2
Balde is only 37. If there was any possibility of him signing, which I doubt, I reckon the big man could do us a turn. That said, there are other areas of the pitch that we could do with strengthening. As for the McCourt chat, that's just wishful thinking. If he's still at Celtic beyond January then it may be plausible that he could join on an emergency loan for game time to put himself in the shop window but even then, I would severely doubt it. Lindau
Papers reporting that Stevie will be out for up to 2 months. Given Jackies Celtic connections I wouldnt rule out McCourt. He is not getting any game time at Parkhead so a loan would benefit both parties, especially if they pay most of his wages!
lady-isobel-barnett
I heard the McCourt rumour on Saturday. No doubt that's just what it is, a rumour. Tho' I doubt there's anything to it it's not that unlikely if Celtic require him to get game time (as far as I'm aware the fella averages about the last 20 mins of a game every fortnight). I think we tick a few boxes from Celtic's point of view and perhaps the Slane loan could have something to do with it. But we'd be expected to start McCourt and play him for most of a game. Not sure we'd want Lawless* or Erskine sitting on the bench to accommodate him. *Obviously Stevie's injury now comes into play but this rumour was doing the rounds before the game. clarencegarter
McCourt could fill Stevies place but theres no way he would last the full 90 mins doubtful he could last 60 mins. And to the people that think Forbes doesnt put in enough effort or track back they will have a heart attack watching McCourt play!!
crazy davie
I don't much like the idea of loan players. I'd prefer to watch our own players, even if they're not as good. But I would LOVE to see Paddy McCourt at Firhill.
uberteeb
McCourt as cover for Lawless would be alright, we don't really have anyone else who can play that role although I woudln't be surprised if Bannigan could turn his hand to it.

potty trained
McCourt as cover for Lawless would be alright, we don't really have anyone else who can play that role although I woudln't be surprised if Bannigan could turn his hand to it. Bannigan played in the left wing role and Erskine behind him a month or so ago in a game at Firhill, can't remember who against though. So Bannigan could play left wing and erskine on the right wing. Dick Dastardly
I know Bannigan is good, but we now have him playing right back and left wing at the same time !
twinny
Has Bannigan come straight through our youth system or did we pick him up from someone else's youth team? His ability to slot in anywhere is great and even more so considering we haven't produced a player that can play in ANY position for about 10 years. jags365
Official site a bit sketchy - "Mifielder Stuart had already featured for the reserve team before joining the club full-time as a Modern Apprentice in the summer of 2009." Can only assume he got himself a trial after impressing with his local boys club or something similar?

Garscube Road End
Bannigan came from Celtic a couple of years ago. Scouting at Firhill has certainly improved. Thats Bannigan and O'Donnell that came from Celtic. And whoever spotted Muirhead got a cracker, and Lawless, who I doubted has been a belter of a signing. Good times to be a Jag!! I doubt that, after signing up Craig, we could afford any of McCourt's wages. McGuigan, Craigen (both 2 year deals) and Elliot deserve a chance after their loan periods. Blackpool Jags
Hopefully we can get one of those 'Phantom Of The Opera' type masks for wee Stevie. He's been a big part of the reason we're up there, and he knows where the net is. Two months out would be a big blow, IMO, so here's hoping we can find a quicker way back for the wee man.
