idlewild84
With Paton leaving a new club captain will be required. I know SOJ has had armband but personally I'd like to see Balatoni with it. He might be young but he's definitely one of the more talkative on the pitch and keeps calm when others can't (Welsh @ Hamilton?)
ThickAsThieves
Hugh Murray will probably be our official club captain? Due to lack of game time - or assumed lack of game time - next season, the on-the-pitch captain will be someone different. Not sure who though, no particular stand-outs for me. Balatoni, Muirhead, Fox, Bannigan, Welsh? One of those.
DazzJag
Du du du Conrad Balatoni
Lin1876
Likely to be Craig, Balatoni or Fox. Never been convinced about having a striker as captain, so probably Balatoni or Fox, or Murray if he gets game time.

Santana
Paton until the end of the season. Balatoni/ Muirhead next season.
lady-isobel-barnett
I don't think there's a choice in the matter. Since Paton's absence Conrad's been captain in all but name.
Jagsman
i think if we sign someone who is bit more mature and has spl experience should be the captain remember balatoni and muirhead are still very young
Jaggernaut
Andy Dowie? I'm guessing he'll be with us, and looks comfortable enough in the team. He'll also bring experience of that level which Conrad and Aaron don't have. But what will be the central defensive pairing?
chunky jag
Muirhead n conrad r easily good enough for spl they should be 1st choice!
Members Willjag
I think if we hold onto Jordan McMillan, he could be the next Jags Captain. Was the Pars Captain this season I think.
twinny
He was indeed, Will. I'd choose Balatoni based on my knowledge of the squad, but as said above it could be McMillan or Dowie depending on if they're kept on (I imagine they will be) and how well they fit in with the squad. Blackpool Jags
Conrad for skipper. The end. PS Might help keep him with us for a good few seasons.
Members Willjag
As an aside but on the same subject, I definitely don't think Paton should lift the trophy now. It HAS to be Archie.

It would be no surprise if Dowie, and possibly McMillan too, return to Ibrox. They would be better value than Perry and the over-paid foreigners who under-achieved this season. McCoist is worried that his budget will be frozen or even reduced so he will be looking for cheaper options.

Archie has delivered in difficult circumstances. If the players knew that Paton and Erskine had signed for United, morale in the dressing room could have been affected. Edit - for captain, I would be happy with Balatoni or Fox. Murray has had a mixed season, to say the least, and may move on. I'd love to see him sign for Morton. More money to play in Division 2......, or less money to play in the SPL. Interesting one.

Got to be remembered those two will be down more than a few quid having been royally mucked about by Masterton. Normally speaking I would question any player's ambition dropping leagues to play for sevco but could understand Dowie and/or McMillan opting for the dark side.
