northernsoul
Cheers. I checked the scotrail and directrail websites first, where the prices are a complete joke. Edited June 11, 2013 by northernsoul
little_miss_jag
Cheers. I checked the scotrail and directrail websites first, where the prices are a complete joke. No worries! That's why I like national rails website, gives you all the times and prices for all companies and links you straight to the company website to buy them, Far easier, scotrails website is a mess. GrantB
That's a decent away day. Gutted I'll be on holiday that week and miss it.
kni
It's a decent weekend away too. Hexham and Corbridge are worth a visit. Edit - a further thought. Will there be a supporters bus(es) going to Durham? There ought to be lots of takers for such a day out? Edited June 12, 2013 by kni
kni
Not many seats at New Ferens Park! Wikipedia says that the capacity is 3,000!
jags on tour
Not many seats at New Ferens Park! Wikipedia says that the capacity is 3,000! it'll need to get moved to The Sports Direct Arena after Livvy not being big enough! Charlie Endell
I've booked up for this to make up for the disappointment of not being able to attend the Livi game. 07.50 direct choo down and 19.18 (also direct) back - only 30 quid, so chuffed with that. lady-isobel-barnett
I'm on at Waverley 10am (8.45 from Queen St) returning on the 18.31 from Durham. That was £23.75 with a railcard.(£36 without). The fare from Queen St for these times is quoted at £30 with a railcard (£45.50 without) Edited June 13, 2013 by lady-isobel-barnett

Charlie Endell
Aye, fortunately it's not operated by Last Scotfail - you'd need to wait till 10am! Think I'll stay 'dry' till Durham though - plenty of time to imbibe there. Edited June 13, 2013 by Charlie Endell
northernsoul
Really looking forward to this. The 7.50am train seems to be filling up. A pal of mine purchased his tickets today and they were a couple of quid dearer but it was still an advanced ticket. I get the impression these will be gone soon. lady-isobel-barnett
From my real ale swiggin' mole three pubs definitely worth a visit are The Market Tavern, The Half Moon (draft Bass at all times) and The Dun Cow. He usually gives the Shakespearian and the Swan & 3 Cygnets a miss as "too studenty" but I'm guessing that they'll also be fine hostelries out of term.
Charlie Endell
Very pleasant town - last time I was there was for a court appearance (I was a witness...) - unfortunately had to drive when I got home, so didn't get a chance to sample the local hostelries. jags on tour
Btw, New Ferens Park has an artificial pitch. I thought that after looking at the pic on the official site.
kni
As its the first game and the pitch has an artificial surface, there should be a lot of substitutions.
