O'donnell Signs On

Thought a big plus last season was getting players signed up early and getting plans in place and a full pre season.

This hasn't always been the case in previuos years.

So great to see that things are moving quickly on the signing front.

Archie made that point a while back so he's obviously taken it on board and been as good as his word. (Double cliche there)

We now have enough of last year's team signed up to ensure the 'spirit' of that team will survive into next season. They also know each other's game inside out. All we need now are some decent back up plus the 2 or 3 signings that will strengthen the team.

Cover: A Craig replacement obviously, and someone who can play centre back/left back. Also sign up McMillan or some one like him., who can cover the positions he can.

Improve: Need a bit more creativity and need to replace the goals we'll miss that Erskine provided. Don't see us finding 1 guy that can do this so a creative midfielder (also cover/challenge) for Forbes, a goal scoring winger/midfielder.

Don't ask me about names: I couldn't have suggested Lawless and Forbes signing last year: just have to trust manager has spies out to get the players we need.

Would be further excellent news if true. All short term issues with the current squad have been resolved, but to echo the points above it's important that we look to extend the contracts of those that played a huge part in our league win last season to ensure that they're properly rewarded and we can get some money if there's interest in them from other, bigger, teams. Bannigan, Sinclair, Balatoni, Muirhead, Lawless should all be offered, and will hopefully accept, new contracts - two year minimum, albeit ideally three given their ages and abilities (but doubt they would sign a three year deal)

How good is it to be discussing extending contracts/re-signing players rather than who we need to release/buy out their contract because they're not good enough?
