  1. Could have done better for the second United goal. First one may be some being harsh on him but it was certainly saveable.
  2. Been talked about before Davis Keillor-Dunn. He looked good for Falkirk and we need other options for attacking midfield players. Would be a very good signing.
  3. Tomorrow after the Dundee match,
  4. Archibald used to shout a lot as well - it's the norm!
  5. I thought the 3 at the back did not work. Airdrie played with 3 upfront but two of them were dropping deep into the space between defense and midfield and causing us problems. They shut down Banzo and tried to force us to play from the backline similar to what happened in the last Alloa game at home. Thought we would have gone 4 at the back in the second half but Caldwell choose to bring on Palmer and he steadied the ship. Cammy looked good in the 45 mins he was on the pitch and is technically very good. The question is how he will do in the rough and tumble of the league. Ryan Williamson did okay on his first game. Still to me looks a bit raw and still a work in progress. He really needs to get closer to the touchline where the space is. Overall good to get the win but looked like we don't as of yet have the same quality we had in the second half of the season. Hamilton game will tell us more.
  6. Not sure he can play anything else other than 4-4-2. Lack of personnel is limiting options. Pretty sure we will see Penrice at some stage in the Betfred cup games in midfield. Real lack of options of the bench and looks like he will have to blood some of the development squad.
  7. 1.5 to win gives us about a 60% chance of winning - sounds about right to me.
  8. Going to be difficult as we have lost 4 of our best players. Let's not jump to conclusions though until we have a full squad signed.
  9. Could turn out to be a very good signing at this level.
  10. We will need 2 more goalkeepers. A center back that has a bit of pace who will most likely be a younger defender. In midfield, we will need a strong central midfielder who can tackle. Tidser would have been a very good signing for me here. Need also somebody to replace Spittal who can create and score goals. Think we will go for two more strikers – one more center forward and another one with pace who can also play out wide.
  11. If that is true that means both away games are at Hamilton! lol
  12. Better not be two games at Hamilton! Lol
  13. Putting the away fans in the JH should improve the atmosphere at games. The Dunfermline game in particular was good.
  14. Robbie Crawford ayr united.
  15. Will he be in a Thistle Shirt though? If he is it may be a Thistle select side with old players but not sure he will be placed in the current team.
  16. You're right, no board gives full control over to any manager. Would you want a potentially disgruntled employee working for you as youth coach? Also if he goes to another Championship team there is conflict of interest issues. Think it could be best for Doolan to go to be honest. Think he has gone stale here and a fresh challenge could bring out the best in him. Would be great to see him back in the future is a coaching capacity though.
  17. The reaction to Doolan going is just ridiculous. You hire a manager you need to give him full control who he brings in and releases. Archie, Erskine, and Doolan have all contributed hugely to this club but their time is no over. Before Mcdonald came to this club I would have had him in my top five disliked players. That's all changed now and I am sure there will be others who will step up.
  18. Doolan would make a very good signing for Falkirk.
  19. Are you? If the whole team stank of relegation when Archie was here why were we not in the relegation zone? To some facts don't matter - not sure why I bother! lol Some on here seem to have an agenda against Archie or Caldwell. Both have played a part in our failure this season.
  20. Promotion was not a realistic target.
  21. On Caldwell, he has earned his right to be in charge next season. His start was terrible, however, since January we have done well and based upon that he has done enough. To sack him and have to pay him a big sum of money does not make sense and there is no huge queue of suitable candidates waiting. We have some good quality in the squad and with 4 or 5 quality players in for the new season we will be up there. Think Dundee United will take a bit of stopping next season though.
