  1. As it happens I surprised them right at the end of the day while they were moving a couple of mannequins into their back office area, clearly they weren't expecting anyone. It wasn't clear to me that the launch was for their online shop only, so I dragged my girlfriend up to Port Dundas to try and get a hoodie. The guy was happy to chat with my girlfriend and I for a few mins before they locked up.
  2. They are not on display until after the official launch, they are still installing the upgrades to their unit, till etc.
  3. I think they will both be very popular. The home top has a retro kind of look with a couple of subtle details showing it is specific to Thistle. I believe both home and away kits are individual designs for the club. The team and fans will look great for our return to the top division. I can say nothing more on pain of death.
  4. Went up to the shop today and its not actually open yet, but the guy at the shop was genuinely enthusiastic about linking up with Thistle and is confident in his products. In the flesh the products feel good quality, and personally I think that the leisure wear and new strips look very nice. The range of leisure wear will be based around a few key products due to minimum order numbers. This seems a sensible business decision as they don't want stuff left over in large quantities.
  5. Was in Battlefield Barbers opposite the Victoria Infirmary today using a voucher for a haircut and a shave done by former Dunfy and Ross County Alex Keddie, who owns the shop with his sister. Nice guy and and does a highly recommendable job with both the haircut and hot towel shave.
  6. I have also lost my treasured PTFC hoodie, if anyone lifted it from in front of the home dugout the match before the first team came out with the Trophy. Its the puma hoodie in black with white piping and the grey panels at the side/back and a hole in the large front pocket at the bottom where the stitching has come away. Please let me know if you've found it or lifted it by mistake as it was a gift.
  7. I got the impression it was a bit of sprucing up, refitting Aitken Suite, doing up the loos and repainting the scabby looking bits. Should cost about 80k, anyone got the cash to spare, Jackie?
  8. After his injuries and return from the Arabs Archie wasn't that quick, but more muscular like Balatoni. I think Balatoni was affected by some celebrations through the week, and judging on the 2nd half, he wasn't the only one.
  9. Erskine has done a lot more tracking back over the last few games and put in a good shift all over the park. Granted only a couple of sparks of the creative play we've become used to, but I believe he's nursing a back injury from the assault early in the cup final. Sad to see him go, hopefully the scouting network can find another couple of gems to replace him and Paton.
  10. Fair play to the man and greenton for coming back on here today and posting fair summaries. As stated by others about greenton, we should welcome anyone who will enter into reasoned debate with us. That is more than some other posters are willing to do, which I might disagree with, but within reason we can all post whatever we like. The beauty of free speech.
  11. Hmmm.... if only there were some way to resolve this problem I took my 2 cremated pies BACK TO THE PIE STAND and they gave me 2 edible versions.
  12. Alright the ref was poor and the substitutions bewildering, but what we really need to look at is why Morton wanted it more than us in the first 35 mins of the 2nd half. If we had shown the heart and desire of the last 10 mins earlier in the second half, we would have won. If we had finished any one of the half dozen or so great chances we had, we would have won. If the ball had been passed around neatly on the deck instead of lumped into the air, we would have won. Lets focus on areas we have control of and can improve in instead of blaming the (incompetent) ref. The first 15 mins was a return to our devastating early season form, but we were as poor in the second half as we were good in the first. Thought Archie was fantastic.
  13. Funny how you can see the game so differently from the same stand. I thought Lawless was great, with better finishing he would have had at least a hat-trick. Between him and Craig for my MOTM, Erskine had one of his off days and was lucky to last as long as he did. Forbes was also poor today and his set-piece delivery was 90% shocking. I thought Muirhead was excellent in the first half and only shaded a little in the second half. At the start of the game Paton (?) and then shortly afterwards Archie for the goal, were caught very square on and both took an age to turn, hopefully lesson learned for both of them. Sinclair looks to be coming back onto a game. Credit to Graeme Smith for a few decent saves, put himself on the line for his block but wouldn't have needed to if he'd read that Balatoni was never making that ball. He doesn't know the defence and they don't have confidence in him yet. Get well soon Foxy. This was I game I felt we needed to win, and thanks to a gutsy display we did. A fantastic result and the type of game we would have lost last season. Just read above about Paton's thigh strain, taking that into account had a great, busy game.
  14. Outstanding Not only has my buffet breakfast been cancelled, but I can't even get out between games for a pint with my 'Day Pass'
  15. Transfer ban until they've paid back any debts they have accepted/been forced to take responsibility for...
  16. Signed for Stirling when they were in third division after his knee injury, banging in a fair few goals, then finished up with a few appearanes for Stranraer before retiring.
  17. Really well run. Fantastic opportunity for any fan, regardless of age, to get a run out on the hallowed turf. I was also in the winning team, who you will all be glad to hear was... We Are Thistle sponsored by wearethistle.co.uk
  18. Heard a rumour today about Jamie Ness coming in on loan to get fit.
  19. Ach, just songs like Gerry Britton King of Spain, a couple about Lambie and a couple of others. Not that we shouldn't sing about them, just that they weren't particularly relevant to the day. I was waiting on one about Roger Mitchell. A large proportion of our fans that day couldn't have picked our team out of a line up, never mind sung songs about them. That isn't intended as a slight, I hope they all have good reason to come back in the near future.
  20. As Blackpool Jags and others have pointed out, its not so much the stadium that is causing a lack of atmosphere as it is the fans, or lack thereof. Anyone who says firhill has a lack of atmosphere has a short memory, as even in recent years since the North stand was built there have been a number of games, particularly in cup games e.g. Inverness replay in 2006 and the games against Rangers in the last few seasons, where the atmosphere was great. The fans who do turn up have sung less and less over the last 10 years or so, perhaps a measure of success on the park would bring back fans and some of the atmosphere. Fans were singing at the last game v Rangers, but the songs were about 10 years out of date because they've fallen away from coming to games.
  21. Once we find that 6'4" centre forward who is quick, can actually win the ball in the air, hold the ball when it goes forward, and score 30 a season (not in training). Easy!
  22. Jags Trust site says: "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later. " Could someone tell me where and when the meeting is? Thanks
  23. Firstly, thanks very much to Tommy Taylor who came and took photos at half time of some of the companies who were in attendance, and secondly to the crowd on Saturday, who gave a good cheer for the Boys and especially the 1st Bearsden pipe band. In reply to mrD's post, I would have to agree, unfortunately, that the experiences described probably do reflect West of Scotland culture, but that this has very little do do with the Boys' Brigade on a wider level. We accept anyone at the BB, and as already stated a lot of companies have many children from ethnic and non-christian backgrounds. The message is much less missionary than might be expected and the most relevant part of the BB's object today is "...the promotion of habits of obedience, reverence discipline and self-respect..", some qualities sadly lacking in many people, young and old, in the west of Scotland. Today the Boys' Brigade finds it challenging to compete with the wide variety of hobbies and clubs available to young people, however I would argue that most other clubs for young people don't provide the moral guidance and reinforcement that helps to build character and respect for others(although there are exeptions such as Karate, Judo, the Guides/Scouts and others). P.S. Baden-Powell was an early vice-president and secretary of the BB, where he trialled scouting patrols before founding the seperate Scout movement.
  24. Be successful. A sustained challenge in the league where we can still win up to the final day. Fans will pay current prices when there is a good likelihood we'll win. U16s free already makes it more affordable for families. Otherwise attendances will continue to dwindle and the club will only be able to survive if we bring players through the youth system and sell them on for a decent fee a la Hamilton, hopefully enjoying success on the park with us before they leave.
