Just to cheer everyone up Saturday's referee is Nick Walsh last seen a couple of weeks ago at Firhill giving Killie that penalty. Almost makes me wish for the return of Willie Colum....but only almost....
If we were ever to look at a permanent groundsharing arrangement I think we would need to consider going plastic. It also gives the opportunity to get all the Thistle teams and Academy training at Firhill and rent it out to others. On the other hand did the club not take on a facility in Glasgow from the council as a training base?
Personally I prefer football on grass and fully expect the pitch to be back to last season's standard once Queens Park flit back to Hampden
Both being loan deals means neither will be able to play against their parent club.
IMO it works well for both clubs. Both move on players whose commitment may be questionable for different reasons and get players with something to prove.
With the pre contract rules clubs and to an extent players are in a difficult position. Will Zac bust a gut and potentially risk injury between now and the end of the season? If he plays today and has a nightmare that will be the accusation. Similarly will McColl want to risk playing someone who isn't 100% committed? I'd be tempted to leave him out altogether for the rest of the season if a deal can't be done with Dundee.
As I live in Fife I'd definitely make an effort if they were playing a team closer to home. I wonder if there would consideration given to playing a PTFC Women's game before a men's game at Firhill. Appreciate that there are logistical issues and it would need to be in spring/ early autumn but I think it's been done in other countries.
Home draw Vs Boroughmuir Thistle in the 4th round is the PTFC Women's team reward for beating Motherwell on penalties in the last round. What odds on both teams winning their respective ties?
Get the feeling all Doncaster and Maxwell's efforts are focused on pleading the case for an early shut down with Sky. Ultimately the decision will be with Sky, if they want the ugly sisters to play out their panto with no spectators then they will.
I read that the Scottish V passport can be used in France where one is necessary to get into bars and restaurants never mind sports events and nightclubs
