  1. Premium for me. Fitzpatrick away first choice but will go with the majority.
  2. I like it. More than that, I'd have the team play in it EVERY away match [ colour clashes exempted ] to remind others of the year Scottish footballing integrity died ! Let's keep remembering we were shafted. Publish that, for one year only, we play in black away from home. Let the sense of injustice burn and let's feed off of it. Together, fans and players, let's remind others that we're PROUD of Partick Thistle.
  3. Had a similar experience in that the password sent didn't allow me to open my account in the app. I used the link in the original email - https://tickets.ptfc.co.uk/login Entered my email address and selected the tab for lost/forgotten password [ this worked unlike the tab in the app ]. They sent me a link which allowed me to select my own password. This has allowed me to access my account in the app. Hope that helps. I suppose this means I have to go tonight ?
  4. Thanks for that. Despite now knowing his name I still don't remember him ! However that may say more about me than him !!
  5. Can someone please put me out my misery . It has bothered me for weeks - Who is the mystery man third from left ? Thank-you.
  6. Yes, but I'm not suggesting using him in a back four. In the middle as a sweeper between, for instance, McGinty/O'Ware would allow him to read the game. Let McGinty/O'Ware mark eg. Grehan
  7. I'm surprised that we haven't tried Harkins playing in the centre of a back 3. His lack of mobility would be hidden and we could take advantage of his reading of the game / ball skills. To me, he would be steadier and less accident prone than others we have tried. He started as a centre half so maybe it's time to use him as a sweeper. We did it successfully with Davy Irons.
  8. I thought that the manager last night had the tactics spot on. In the first half United couldn’t play through us and were restricted to long diagonal balls from their centre halves, resulting in very few chances. However, the second half was very different. The players looked absolutely shattered – what happened to the boast about being the fittest team ? From my seat, we were waiting for United to equalise. I disagree with some of the other posters – Robson and Penrice & Cardle and Williamson are starting to look like useful pairings and linked well. To my eyes the players gave all they had – no complaint about effort. Questions remain about stamina. All in all – there is hope for the future. As someone said to me on the bus home -’ Nevermind, it’s early days ‘
  9. 18 - Not if it was a return to the top 4 playing to be Champions/ for European Competitions, the bottom 4 fighting relegation, and the huge amount of clubs in the middle going nowhere. My memories of a large league were month after month of meaningless games. I accept that our current system is far from perfect but it does provide excitement and meaningful games nearly to the end. IMHO the consequences are that attendances would drop with a return to a basic 18 team league.
  10. BB, can you increase my pledge to a total of £4/ goal. Cheers.
  11. Please include me in the Doolan 100. Hopefully a bit closer after this afternoon ! My own preference would be for the BB inscription with the addition of the dates.
  12. Anticipating success tonight I'll pledge £1 per goal [ including friendlies ], with Ade Azeez as my Star Striker.
  13. I'll chip in £25 for the Ade Azeez home package.
  14. Definitely worth the effort to be there on Saturday and support the team, The atmosphere at 4.45pm when we have secured our place in the league for next year will be special. My ticket is ordered !
  15. As the OP mentioned......…..and a big thanks to the Board. Removal of the debt and need for its servicing, must have made the decision to offer a longer contract easier in these volatile times. Hopefully the start of a trend.
  16. Some of the above stories about GC’s management style are new to me and if true, the poor form of the team is understandable. However the board shoulder most of the blame for either a/ selecting the wrong manager or b/ not sticking with him for the long haul. On a more positive note I’d like to mention his efforts as a player. When Lambie bought him from Hamilton we were near the bottom of the old First Division and heading for relegation. Whilst nearing the end of his career his will to win, and fight for the cause inspired the other players. The skills may have been fading but nobody could have doubted his heart. He demanded the same of others in the team. They were a great double act – Lambie off the pitch and Gerry on it. I have a still vivid memory from that season of going to Palmerston Park and seeing the team upsetting the odds by beating QoS 3-1. GC was a rock and the courage and spirit spread from him. I should add that I have never met the guy but think that his influence on the pitch, almost single handedly saved us from relegation that season. His subsequent shameful treatment [ IMHO ] as a manager was not one of the Club’s proudest moments.
  17. Oh ! to be able to find a player like him now. Power combined with wonderful footballing skills. A sublime touch yet never shirked a crunching tackle. I thought he was destined to be a stalwart in the Scotland team for years to come but sadly it never happened. Thanks for the video. Wonderful memories.
  18. I see from the Hartlepool FC official website that he has been appointed First Team Coach which obviously has very specific duties and a long way from being Manager / Head Coach. Perhaps the job description explains why the other quoted candidates eg Phil Brown withdrew.
  19. I agree and would be prepared to chip in.
  20. Sadly, todays Scotsman newspaper carries a report that Aberdeenshire based company Sangs, who are best known for MacB flavoured water, have called in the administrators.
  21. Agree with you about the problem with the right side of the team. For me Cairney is a central midfielder and continually drifts into the centre. On the rare occasion when he was out wide he just doesn't have the ability to go past players. He's a very similar player to Rowson and, altho perhaps being his future replacement, shouldn't ideally be played in the same team. The knock-on effect from this was that going forward Paton had no one ahead of him and was forced into the big punt forward, of which we saw too much on saturday. I don't think Flannigan is the answer. Maybe Campbell is the solution. Haven't seen much of him but when he eventually did come on, he did have one decent run down the wing. Admittedly the cross was wayward and straight to the keeper, but he's learning and looked to be comfortable wide right.
