  1. When I played at a fairly poor amateur level we never had linesmen, only a ref. We never questioned a ref's offside decision in 7 years. At least he had an excuse. The Hamilton ref knew fine there was nothing wrong with Booth's goal, as did the whole crowd. He should have over-ruled the imbecile.
  2. Liam is improving with every game. It would be in Thistle's and his own interest to stay till the end of the season unless we receive a massive bid. His value will increase on further progress especially if we go on a decent cup run. I am concerned at the lack of any suitable replacement as we will again be susceptible to set pieces.
  3. Yes, they play some good stuff. They have had a blip recently and need to get back to winning and still playing the game properly. Nisbet returning will assist their fire power but he needs to start knocking opponents about like Lyle Taylor. A striker should be nasty, aggressive, snarling. Otherwise he shall be bullied. They shall miss Wilson and Penrice as they have been top men. But they seem to have a surfeit of midfielders like the 1st team. There are some very good footballers in that team. Let's hope they continue to progress under some excellent management.
  4. Och, look could we place place pragmatism aside? I could tell at a 90 degree angle that the Hamilton linesman was an incompetent Jags hating (Rhinestone)Cowboy. Most of the other decisions discussed here you could sort of understand why they erred.
  5. The thought of 3 weeks of abstinence is making me grumpy! Consequently can I suggest that football loving Jags turn their attention to a lower level team in order to retain our interest in the beautiful game. All teams in Scotland need all the support they can get. Only for 3 weeks though! I shall commit to supporting Morton and visiting Cappielow at least once as I would like them to return to the PL because they bring such a good support to Firhill and usually get pumped.
  6. Clyde players used to score against us. They were all duds (and we ended up signing some of them).
  7. Hopefully Welsh is now showing what he can do week in week out. Archie has stuck with him when I would certainly have replaced him with Wilson to see what he could do. He played so well in the League Cup games only to be dumped. Shows why Archie is the manager and I am not. I will be delighted if Welsh keeps up the good form that we saw in the 1st division. The jury is out on whether Wilson becomes a PL player but he needs to set the world alight at Stranraer. I would have preferred him to have moved to a Championship team because I think he would star at that level.
  8. Is he qualified for Scotland through residency? He's far better than any of the reserves to Gordon and Marshall
  9. Well done to the manager and well done to those who needed to show what they can do. Messrs Devine, Gordon and Welsh are cleArly better players than they were showing a month ago. Keep up the good work.
  10. McDonald is a bigger moaner than McGowan. But he's a much better player and not so ugly. I don't think he's been inside either. Although I wouldn't be surprised. So McGowan wins the prize for the most detestable premier league player. This used to be the domain of the Old Firm players - Alex MacDonald, Tommy McLean, Durie, that Aussie thug that Rangers had. Oh, that's strange, they all played for Rangers.
  11. Good health to Stevie. The Celtic team of that era was brilliant, best Scottish club side ever. But he was rank rotten by the time we had him. A bad signing. Surprised he scored as many as 6 goals.
  12. He didn't set the heather on fire at Ayr but it won't have done him any harm. He knows what is expected now. He should return to u20's and score goals, then return to the 1st team squad for next season.
  13. I agree. The defender didn't have a hope in hell on a one on one with Erskine. He should probably have scored himself but credit to Dools for sniffing around. I know why Chris was subbed, to give us an out ball when their moves broke down but was ragin because he was having a great game and was so entertaining. Would love to see Erskine on for 90 minutes, just once. And he should never be substitute. Edwards and Lindsay were also magnificent. I hope Liam's injury is not too bad.
  14. I am hoping for a great game here. Dundee are one of the most attractive teams in the league and will commit men forward. Although their star attackers have gone Hartley encourages men to get forward and midfielders into the box. They may not be a great team but we should beware of the threat. We should of course play the same way as we have better players especially if Erskine starts.
  15. Erskine would lay on many more goals if he started every week. And Archie would be in even greater demand.
  16. Agree with Metz and utterly delighted to be proved wrong about Welshy. Credit where credit is due. But he must continue his good form. Just saw the goals. Great goals and we were right up for the game. Thumping header from Liam.
  17. Brilliant. Must have been a great performance. Might be difficult to get a 'just in' at least till tomorrow. Well done to the team. Keep up the good work.
  18. If we fail to win any of the next 3 games we are in deep trouble. Don't expect success if we keep doing what we have always done. By 1st Jan we shall know what we need. Would love to see strikers banging in some goals, some proper defending and some midfield creativity.but some of the players are either not good enough or have been off form all season. Results don't lie but they show how much we depend on Banzo. The miscreants have 3 games to save themselves as the window looms. Archie's tactics have been more positive this year, with some attacking intent and adaptability in structures. His team selections have been woeful though, particularly the persistent absence of our most creative player Erskine for 2/3 of the game. We only look like scoring when he comes on. I cant understand why Gordon gets a game in front of Elliot. Does Christy not create such a scene when left out? I want to see the best team available every week. Why was Barton not playing? I appreciate we have played ok in some games but playing well and losing is an indicator of a team about to be relegated. let's see where we are in Jan. Then take appropriate action for change if we are still at the bottom!
  19. Cmon Ade, The worldwide PTFC support is willing you to score against this lot. This is your hour in the sun.
  20. Great news. May not make much difference but exonerates a player who gets absolutely nothing out of referees.I am delighted the club has stood up for Ade. Thomson is an apology for a ref and Azeez an easy target for him. He should try booking Scott Brown occasionally for his numerous crimes against football. But he doesn't have the bottle.
  21. We are nearly half way through the season and I think he only has 1 league goal. I like the guy. He holds the ball up well. He has pace. I suspect he's a great man to have around the dressing room. But we simply cant afford his profligacy in front of goal any longer. How many points has he cost us? Lyle Taylor was probably Archie's best signing and a similar type of player but he scored some vital goals. I sincerely hope you are right, Willjag. Every time I see Azeez I am willing him to score. But it never happens! Perhaps he'll score a barrowload in December and prove me wrong. I hope so but I would punt him in January if possible if matters dont improve.
  22. Delighted that we are appealing this. I have always thought that the excitable, overpaid incompetents should be held accountable like a cricket umpire nowadays who makes howlers. He is now found out by the referral system. Can we appeal half of Osman's bookings? Darren Fletcher may have had a European Cup Winners medal under this system. And Martin Hardie could have played vs Rangers in the semi. Mind, who sits on the panel?
  23. Ok agree with LLD. Pitiful that some fans appear terrified of the OF. I agree that they are distasteful but please, support your team. In the unlikely event of us beating them, you would be missing a glorious orgy of celebration. Wasn't far off 2 weeks ago. On the subject of the team, I don't think we would be bottom if Banzo had been playing this year. Christie was great at RB. Why is Gordon back in again? I now think Archie has been too faithful. Welsh and Gordon have had the odd good game but far too many bad ones. Azeez will never score and Devine is dud. To improve we must replace those not performing, if not out the club, then out the team. Logically I agree about where Jags should aspire to. But all fans should believe we will achieve something fantastic one day. Like winning a cup. To Hell with logic, let's encourage the team to great heights.
  24. Archie miraculously punted Pogba. To get players in we need to punt more of the garbage without incurring large costs. Goodbye to Gordon,Devine, Welsh and Azeez. The manager really wold be doing a good job if he can get rid of that lot without cost.
