Really sad news. Sure there was quite a fanfare at the start of last season about how sponsorship had been maintained at the same level as our last premiership season, and I’m sure this was in no small part down to Ross who was very highly thought of

No agenda, just the way I see it. Making that info public seems ridiculous to me if the circumstances are different. Why would any of the others chose then to accept a lesser offer? Don’t imagine banzo, penrice, slater et al will be more motivated with this knowledge

I think Christie will be off. The comments about offering to make him club’s highest paid player so that Caldwell can say he did everything to try and keep a long serving player

Someone should just gag Caldwell. Every time he speaks he adds fuel to the fire. He sees himself as a top manager and strategist but the reality is more like a David Brent/ Alan Partridge love child. kenny miller or boyd as doolan’s replacement? Really? what good can it possibly do to announce Christie as the top earner? Total and utter fud

I think Caldwell has done ok- not more or less. He does not endear himself to the fans and lacks humility, but he has gathered a little momentum and I think it will be interesting to see how things progress from here. the board are not going to sack him, so the only way we’ll have a new manager at the start of next season is if Caldo doesn’t fancy it or somehow gets a better offer

I’d keep Elliot. Not sure about Gordon. Think spittal will be off and not sure McDonald will re-sign. Not sure doolan will be offered an extension but hope I’m wrong - he’s had a poor season but form can change and he’s a massive asset to the club

Got to hope Caldwell gets more attacking players on the pitch compared to the last few games. Cardle and Fitzpatrick to start and let’s have a proper go at Alloa. If we can’t beat them at home when the stakes are down then we don’t deserve to stay up

Caldwell has to get more attacking players on the pitch, especially in our two remaining home games. We have been at our best when having a go at teams this season but have not done nearly enough of it. Fitzpatrick and cardle to start please

I thought Banzo had a poor game yesterday by his standards. Gave the ball away prior to them scoring and seems to have a total reluctance to shoot for goal which he had the opportunity to do a couple of times in the second half. Thought we dominated without really creating a huge amount of chances. McMillan has been an excellent loan signing. Think we will have enough to stay up.

That was honking. Was just as poor as our last trip to east end park. Played the same formation as that night, with similar result. No creativity or goal threat. Made Devine look like a competent defender. Not actually sure Caldwell has a clue what he is doing. Coulibaly looked astounded to be getting on the pitch. No idea what is wrong with doolan but he has offered heehaw for months now. Slater flatters to deceive, as for harkins... hope banzo is back soon as without him I would fear the worst

Agree. I think he has done really well in this window. A big turnover of players but very positive signs in that they seem to be playing well together quickly. Saunders for me has been the pick of the bunch. Has brought a bit of composure to the back line.

It’s Caldwell’s prerogative to ship out the dead wood. If it means sending some of them to train with the youths so be it. Keown Bell Mutumbo are all appalling footballers and the sooner they go the better.

Agree, Stranraer were poor, but apparently better than stenny who got a draw at pittodrie... defense has been improved by addition of Saunders- a Caldwell signing. Just saying

Caldwell often labelled arrogant - or is he just confident in his ability to turn things round? No bad thing I would argue. Was asked about the bid for Fitzpatrick- says he expects him to be at thistle for some time to come. About time we realised the value of our assets. Reality is unlikely we will ever really know what happened with Erskine, and yes I was sad to see him go, but that team yesterday certainly looked like they were playing for their manager.

Credit where it’s due- that was a good performance and win. Could have scored at least a couple more. Fitzpatrick’s run for the goal coming off the wing I think will be his trademark- saw him scoring a near identical one for reserves. Hopefully he starts more often. Cardle had a great game inc pass for fitzy’s goal. Jury remains out on Roy- he looks quick but should have had a couple of goals yesterday but for poor finishing. Need another centre half and full back before close of the window, but if we keep that team and get coulibally fit to start soon, I would be hopeful.

Struggling to believe GB wasn’t keen on Caldwell. Would have though as Chief Exec his opinion would have been of vital importance to the board. I agree that Caldwell has not had the start anyone wanted but I do think some of the criticism is OTT. I saw enough on Saturday to be encouraged that his team is going in the right direction.

Agree completely. There’s been patches of play that have been good in a number of games under Caldwell but the first half yesterday was very good. Remains to be seen if Harkins is capable of managing 90 mins. McGinty good for a goal against per game so hopefully another centre half will arrive soon.
