  1. Thanks FT. Another signed football I'll never get to see.
  2. Haven't had the chance to read the full match thread from Tuesday, but can imagine it didn't make pretty reading. Watched the game on TV and felt we played well and were very unlucky not to win. Similar performances to the end of the season will see us in the play-offs no doubt. After Tuesday, I think we'd take Raith over two legs. They've been riding their luck all season and won't keep it up. Us to beat Ross County in the play-off final. We owe them one after all.
  3. Thought Milne was better than this. The rest of the team doing fine and we could get back in this.
  4. Good to hear. It's easy to feel that players in this particular role aren't doing well every week. Truth is, it's difficult to be on the front foot and creating and scoring chances every week and if they play an easy ball, it seems they are passing the buck. It's a bit of a thankless task, unless you are at the level of R7 and they are one per generation. Fitzpatrick might blow hot and cold but that's the nature of that style of player, rather than fitness or a lack of trying. I think we would be less of a team without him.
  5. Looked as if Lawless was holding his arm on Friday, so thinking maybe took a knock on it. Nothing too serious I hope, as we need him.
  6. Looking forward to this and a chance to use my season ticket for the first time ever (3 seasons). There's something special about a night game and I'm sure the Jags will turn up and give us plenty to cheer. P.S. Decided it's not too early to start the thread, as the game's on a Friday
  7. A certain ref might make an appearance ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿค‘. Other than that, nothing. This team is more than capable of going on a good run.
  8. Interesting also, that the ref doesn't blow the whistle until the Thistle player strikes the ball. Maybe he was allowing Rangers an advantage deep in their own penalty box up until that point. Makes sense if you're one of them I'm sure.
  9. Be saving it up for the final, should they need it.
  10. If a butterfly flaps its wings.... There's absolutely no way of knowing who (or where), we would have drawn. We've missed out on a lot of money and a shot at glory. That much is certain. Judging by the state of the pitch, I can guess where most of it would go.
  11. I wish I could think like this. My blood pressure has been through the roof since they scored their first.
  12. From 2-1 and maybe even a bit from 2-0, I knew this would happen. It's just crushing.
  13. For this new year, I've been trying to think more positively about things. This is testing my resolve. C'mon Jags, a goal to the good. Let's do this.
  14. They've one back. I see we made two substitutions soon after we scored, taking Graham and Lawless off. I wonder what the thinking behind that was.
  15. Seems Glasgow City Council have a bit of a penchant for this kind of thing down Maryhill way. Just knock it all down and don't worry about it............ Bing!
  16. I was at 261 Garscube Road (it's still there), before my parents moved to Corby when I was just wee. Both sides of the family lived in and around the Round Toll area, with my Dad's family all Thistle and my Mums' a team we won't mention.
  17. I'm not saying we should continue to wrack up losses. I'm saying we should plan in a way that avoids losses. We shouldn't be chasing glory at any level with any of our teams and if we are / were in debt because of this, I wouldn't blame the individual teams or coaches of any kind, I'd blame whoever is responsible for signing off the overall budget for the 'total' club. I don't think it's that difficult to calculate lower to upper range budgets, dependant upon a 'flat' season with an average gate and little success, all the way up to cup success i.e. playing Rangers away, and then arrive at a sensible PTFC budget that means the club does not go busto. I also think that we are more likely to attract investors, if we have a diverse range of teams. Not many people these days, will part with hard earned cash for a Business that only runs an elite male team.
  18. I get both arguments. There's a case for both and I know Lambie preferred to cut the budget and concentrate on the first team and on players that would get him results in the near term. My preference is that we have a club that has reaches beyond the first team and one that includes an academy, younger teams and women's teams. It's not that I'm a massive supporter / follower of the other teams, I just feel that there are more benefits to this model. Hamilton have proven that an academy can pay dividends and supporters of the women's team might start following the men's first team. Overall, it's inoffensive and good for business. I would also ensure that the first team has the right support network to thrive in the long term. This would include scouts and the necessary management team that allows Doolan to do his job properly. If in the short term, this means we can't spend as much on players and players wages, then so be it. It's a long game for me and targets to become a stable mid-table Premiership team, should be our aim. From there, other success in Cups and maybe even a European jaunt could follow. Up The Jags.
  19. Did anyone notice this on the tele yesterday? A prank, mistype or just ignorance?
  20. It's a trick they managed to pull off in a recent League Cup draw, I think it was. I had to check the rules and see if the teams were seeded. Having said that, I'm happy with our home draw and a team we can beat.
  21. Tried the Scottish channels I have here in England and BBC iplayer but no joy yet.
  22. Struggling to find Sportscene. What station you watching on? Cheers
