Wow, what happened there. Seems like an exciting 2 minutes of play.

Annoying as phuck getting drawn away up North again and even worse when the game takes place.
-
Not a great performance but I think we'd have been good for at least a point if the ref hadn't overreacted to Turners' challenge. Also, couldn't believe the kit choice of the ref, which for me, clashed with Cally. I'm surprised no-one actually tackled him on one of the numerous occasions he got in the way.

Great win, and now for some beer and maybe a rum and coke too. Well done Jags.

Cheers elevonone. We enjoyed the hospitality of Duncan on the Station Bar Bus. Very well organised bus and a great guy too. Would highly recommend this mode of transport to away games. The game itself was not so good and I'm not convinced we took it that seriously tbh. Bigger fish to fry perhaps. Nephew had a good time and got to see his first Scotland win on Saturday, so not all was lost.

Maybe not a glamour tie but felt I should start this thread, as I'll be up for the game. 4 of us going, including my nephew, to his first ever Thistle game. Looking forward to a good trip and a nice win.

I can only formulate an opinion from what I've read, as didn't see the game but it seems we tried to turn on the fancy stuff before we were out of sight. I think we thought we had it won at 2-0 but as we've seen that's not enough to take your foot off the gas. My method would be to obliterate teams and score as many as possible but reading about 3 early subs and ball greedy players and others doing back heels, makes me think we thought we were too good. Part of me is happy that we have belief and a wee bit of a swagger but let's just hammer teams whenever we can. Match days are not the time to muck about.

Steven Lawless scores v Cove Rangers 17.09.2022

Realised it was Turner after my 8th watch. -
I hope Weston plays next week also. He was due to come on and was at the side of the pitch the other week and was told to sit back down. A bit ridiculous really.

Great build up play from Tiff and Graham and what a finish. -

Not wishing to add to or detract from the argument of fan ownership but will give a personal point or two around the subject, that maybe applies to the majority, who knows, of our support. I personally, want nothing to do with 'owning' the club. I contribute through ST's and other ways, as do a lot of others but even if I had huge sums of money, I'd try and benefit Thistle, without becoming an owner of some kind. The reason for this, and it becomes more difficult as you get older, is that I hanker for the days when as a child, I adored everything about this Club. And I mean everything. It's clear from reading some posts from denismcquade, and some of the responses, that others feel similarly. IMO, this feeling can only come from a place that puts the Club above the fan and that's how I want it to be. I support Thistle and have no wish to become Thistle. It takes a special character to run any business and most people are not of that character. It frightens the life out of me, to think that a bunch of 'us', could be running the Club I love. A vote about certain things here and there, but that's it for me. Leave the running of the Club to the experts - I realise many will have views here as to whether or not they are experts...... I'm sure Colin Weirs legacy was about protecting the Club, by putting it in the hands of the people that care most and I'm also sure he wouldn't have expected the result to be so divisive. I hope a resolution comes about reasonably quickly and we can start to enjoy this season a bit more. Afterall, this could be a big one. I just have a sneaky feeling about that.

Yessss. Well done Thistle. Have a stinking chest cold but that's cheered me up. Maybe a Whisky will help shift it.

Thinking the same. A draw there can never be a bad result
-
Maybe so, and I was surprised enough at that. I'd go as far to say though, that if we'd had the helping hand that Rangers get every year in every cup, we'd make a few semi-finals and maybe even a final or two. I thought this could be the year.

Not sure it could have been much worse. Let's face it, there was only one team in the hat who were getting Dundee at home. We were odds on to get Aberdeen or Dundee United away. For once in a long time, I think we have the team to win this game but it would be nice to get a helping hand in the draw now and again.
-
I'd add Aberdeen away to that list. Any of the Dundee's or Killie at home be ok. If not, then either of the OF away. Dundee at Firhill is my number one pick.

Aidan Fitzpatrick scores v Arbroath 30.08.2022

Great pick out from Lawless. -
Great win today and another big week coming up. Still think we're due a Cup win, so we had better win on Tuesday to keep that dream alive. FWIW, I think it was offside, as only the player on the ground at the near post, was playing Milne on.

I won £25 last month, so it's definitely fixed.
-
Maybe you can all go and watch Rangers when you're done with Maryhill.
-
Maybe so and I hope your point doesn't come true. Again though, and I won't pretend to know all of the details but I feel the following is happening; 3BC have rejected TJF 3BC have yet to announce the alternative TJF and some others on this forum, are crying foul as TJF were seen as some kind of shoe in In reaction to this, we're attempting to punish the Club by withholding 'money' and cancelling payments that are needed by the Club Many of those that follow the above sentiment will never rejoin the schemes they've cancelled and some might not visit Firhill again, if they stop now I may stand corrected when I hear / understand what 3BC have decided to do, but for now, I feel more hostile towards those that are leading this 'blind' charge and potentially damaging the Club If, and I'm being careful with my use of the word 'IF', TJF are in any way supporting these damaging actions, they will in no way get my support, ever. I would in no way want to be represented by a fans group that chose to damage the Club they represent, should they not get their own way.

I usually take a pause from posting when negativity arises and I've done so in recent weeks. I'm more interested in having a team to support than involving myself in legal matters that I'd never be able to get to the bottom of in order to make a decision one way or the other. In any case, it feels like a lot of people have been spoiling for a fight for weeks. Along with the usual sack the manager p1sh, we've been subjected to some utter cr4p about the detriment Gaelic signage will inflict on our Club. We now have TJF v TBC and the mortal enemy that is Jaqui Low. I really do hope that Colin Weir gets his wishes and that they are upheld by Partick Thistle. (Can it really be true that Partick comes up as a spelling mistake??) I'm not against any form of ownership and want what's best for the team. I'm not sure if there's a call to make regarding the wishes of Colin Weir, if those wishes were not what's best for the Club. Maybe that's what TBC are trying to do and maybe it's illegal. Let's stay behind the team, in what could be a massive season. It won't be an easy atmosphere for the team to play in, if this ill feeling finds its way onto the pitch.
