lady-isobel-barnett
If indeed it's a corner that could be Donnie McKinnon on the ground? Goalie looks familiar. Bert Slater?
paralytic thistle
Goal against Falkirk scored by Alex Wright (on ground) with Davie Mathers in distance, can't tell who the Thistle player is further back (might be Joe Hogan), final score was 3-1 for the Mighty Jags Edited March 8, 2019 by paralytic thistle
a f kincaid
Falkirk had no badges on the shirts until the mid-70s so going with M'lady that it's Dundee. Bert Slater a good shout. Tommy Ewing on the ground?

lady-isobel-barnett
Difficult one. Just a semi educated guess, Cappielow (Pt Glasgow end looking towards the river).

I thought that as well, but was put off by Celtic wearing their normal strip. I don’t recognise the keeper which might have helped
JeanieD
Douglas Park Hamilton would be my guess

First look I thought old tannadice from the tunnel corner? Then again old Henry at tyncastle? Both grounds had shallow sheds that didnt come all the way along the touchline. watties wallies
it's hamish, the tache is your starter for ten the numptie on the right is one of our former managers and yes he was a numptie
JeanieD
Rikki Ferguson of Hamilton might be the goalie and appropriately for this thread he did play one game for the Jags on loan in the early 80s

It also looks like a floodlight pylon to the right of the shed. The old Douglas Park had 4 or 5 of the pylons on each side (I overlooked the ground from Bell College for 3 years), I’m sure Tannadice had pylons only at the corners. If it is Hamilton then I assume they wore a change strip though.
a f kincaid
Still think it's Morton at Cappielow. Opposition unknown.

Talking shite, Ferguson had a beard, but I’m still not convinced it’s McAlpine or Tannadice

DenisOhDenis
Despite having been at every Thistle game there since 1970 apart from one, it took me a while to pin it down but it's Berwick. The guy scoring is Brian McClair who I very vaguely knew when he was at at Glasgow Uni while part time with Motherwell, so that dated it to early-mid 80s. The goalie does look very Hamish McAlpine-esque and Dundee United did wear Adidas kit at that time but I thought he looked too young for 80s Hamish and my memories of Tannadice didn't fit with the shed in the background. A quick Google of photos of the ground seemed to confirm this. Some more googling narrowed it down to 1983/84 season as that was McClair's first season with Celtic and the last one before CR Smith started sponsoring their tops. A trawl of his goal scoring records for that season, eliminating the impossibles, led me to http://www.thecelticwiki.com/m/page/1984-01-28%3A+Berwick+Rangers+0-4+Celtic%2C+Scottish+Cup+3rd+Rd+-+Pictures The two photos show the same general shape of the shed and the adjoining terracing, albeit from a different angle, but the clincher is that you can see the advertising hoardings with Polychrome and lithographic printing industry on them. The picture with the match report at http://www.thecelticwiki.com/m/page/1984-01-28%3A+Berwick+Rangers+0-4+Celtic%2C+Scottish+Cup+3rd+Rd is the best one of the moustachioed custodian. So it's Brian McClair scoring for Celtic in a 4-0 Scottish Cup win against Berwick Rangers, 28th Jan 1984. One other Thistle link to the game (in addition to Murdo McLeod) is that Jim Melrose also played and scored that day.
