The Jukebox Rebel
Simon Donnelly? I am pleased to report that Sid never ever scored against the Jags. Neither did his bum-chum. Paul McGrillen. Did he score more for us or against us? I've researced this and can confirm that he scored 5 times for Thistle and 5 times against. Going through the list, apart from Roddy... Lyle vs QoS Grady vs Ayr (friendly, don't normally remember them but it was the 6-1 game where I thought we were going to be amazing under Collins) Roberts vs Ayr Muirhead on Saturday. McLean vs Inverness McGrillen vs Stenny and maybe McKinlay vs RC. edit- nope, the game I was thinking about, McKinlay did score, but for Ross County. The Jukebox Rebel
Toastie for Well ? Yes - he did it once in April '95. 2-1 Jags though : - ) Alex 'Toastie' Burns scored for St Mirren against us at the start of our promotion season to the SPL in a 3-3 draw. We signed him later in the season and I think he scored for us against St Mirren in the second fixture at Firhill. I think this was 3-3 to, although possibly another Desmond note to self: Don't believe the hype. Don't. Don't. Sorry palomino, I auto-believed you on this one earlier as lib had backed you up I just went with it. First part is true but, actually, he's never scored for us vs Saints. To be fair, you did say "I think", I should have checked. Toastie got both in a Desmond at Fir Park the following season, you're possibly thinking of that. So, as we now know, the Ghost was the last Jag to do such a thing for and against the Bairns in January '96. This came to light coz of PT's query... Have any of those players scored for Thistle against their former/future clubs? As well as scoring against Thistle whilst at those former/future clubs? For example, Roddy Grant scored for us against St Johnstone and against us playing for St Johnstone. I concur with Ancipital's list. In total, 13 out of the above 53 have scored both ways. Gerreee redeemed himself against both clubs on his sin-list: Derek Lyle (Queen of the South) Gary Harkins (Dundee) Gerry Britton (Dunfermline Athletic & Livingston) James Gibson (Clyde) James Grady (Ayr United) Jamie Smith (Stranraer) Mark Roberts (Ayr United) Paul McGrillen (Stenhousemuir) Robbie Muirhead (Kilmarnock) Roddy Grant (St Johnstone) Scott McLean (Inverness Caledonian Thistle) Stephen McKeown (Airdrie United) Tommy Bryce (Arbroath) Nice wee Ryan Stevenson goal against the Jambos would look good in there
