oneteaminglasgow
Because despite looking like shit, I'd imagine the big advertisement on the bing actually brings in an alright amount, and certainly more than whatever this would, if anything. The bing is here to stay unless we suddenly have need for a new stand there. We might as well make as much as we can from it.
potty trained
It's a good idea, might pave the way for a more attractive bing.
Auld Jag
Would a digital scoreboard with adverts(like St.Mirren only bigger) ,happy birthday wishes etc not look quite good and also bring in some revenue.

Actually a very good idea but could cause some local objections... http://www.justsaygn...300/8240578.jpg
The Sons of Somner
Anyone else remember this? 25 years ago or so, when Arsenal were re-developing the North End at Highbury (behind the goals) to create their all seated stand. For a full season they hid the building work behind a huge mural which depicted supporters at the game. The effect was brilliant, and it was done so well that whenever the TV cameras panned by the scene to capture the on field action, at first glance you never noticed you were looking at a painted picture. All done on the normal hoarding boards you see around building sites. At Firhill it probably wouldn't need to be any higher than 12 feet or so. We now have the capability of artistic input and costs would be relatively cheap. And yes, it would hide the disgrace that is the bing.
Norgethistle
Can we not charge the USAF to allow them to despose of their left over napalm on the bing, we could do low level fly overs at halftime strafing the bing with napalm. May add a few thousand plane spotters to the crowd as well as killing the weeds
Fearchar
My conjecture is that the Bing is envisaged as the future site of the office, gym and other facilities: that would then allow the entire Main Stand to be gutted, retaining the listed façade. I don't think the main stand facade is listed.
