P-R
Winter football. What a joke! But at least we shall be able to say we are unbeaten for 3 months. No away Saturday game now since November 20th
GrantB
Thank I didn't take the day off work for this. Â What is it with us and amateur teams who can't keep their pitch playable this season?
lady-isobel-barnett
If both Alloa and Arbroath can play at home today, Thistle should make an official complaint. With covers and undersoil heating, there's no way that our game should be postponed. Maybe not the best example as Alloa play on a plastic pitch. The Incredible Adam Spark
Have been reliably informed that Saints' groundsman didn't weight the covers on Thursday night, despite the forecast. Then, when he'd discovered they'd been blown off during the night, he didn't weight them during Friday. That's when the damage was done. Saints' fault. Factor in that Geoff Brown is the owner of a construction company, who you'd expect would have considerable experience in drainage, and it's even more galling. The home club gets the larger split of the gate receipts to cover the cost of staging the match. The least they should do is go 50/50 on Tuesday. But they won't. daxington preamble
If Saint Johnstone were playing one of the old firm today would the game be off - no chance. Totally raging - I'll go on Tuesday night but I think I break something cos they ruined my weekend
The Incredible Adam Spark
If Saint Johnstone were playing one of the old firm today would the game be off I wouldn't be so sure. They lost a game against Rangers in the don't too distant past.
Clinically Depressed
I still fancied taking in a game today, so I looked at the fixtures on the Sky Sports website. On the Scottish Cup fixtures page, under our game it reads - and I quote; - Â "postponed - due to". (sic) Â Seems they're as dumbstruck as we are. kni
Maybe not the best example as Alloa play on a plastic pitch. Â Forgot about that! Â The Saints fans are raging too. They say that the covers blew off on Thursday morning. Some also say that the McDiarmid pitch does not drain properly and that the problem will need to be addressed in the summer. What a farce! Guy Incognito
I think the venue should be changed to Firhill. We can cope with a wee bit of rain in Glasgow (just about).

The Incredible Adam Spark
Despite what the Saints site is saying, the covers were apparently weighted down with various pieces of flotsam and jetsam. It was only yesterday that sandbags were utilised. AFTER THE DAMAGE WAS DONE. They won't admit to it, but the blame lies squarely at their door. St J should be hammered for this postponment and their complete incompetence. Â I also heard no Groundsmen were given any overtime or called in, when it became apparent covers were lifting, and were left for over 15 hours exposed while the weather did it's worst through Thursday night. Â The Farmers are fast turning into Motherwell, with their embarrasment of a pitch, drainage and USH systems.

Third Lanark
Ours is the only postponement today!!! Yep gives the St Johnstone players a nice couple of days extra rest as well, as last couple of weeks they have played midweek games as well as a saturday. Just an amazing coincidence of course
