Life and death isn't about football. Its much more important than that.

Feel sympathy for anyone in this situation, so send genuine best wishes to all concerned.

Important thing with bereavement is to bounce back in the long run (however long that run is for you). Doesn't matter if that involves wearing a Jags shirt again or not, and that shouldn't be something to worry about right now in any case.

I'm usually more noted for my cynicism but I'm not the least bit ashamed to say today's ending to the game brought a tear to my eye. I, like most folk my age, have gone through the trauma of losing at least one parent and will know just how hard it is to function for days on end afterwards. Sometimes you think you're doing just fine but in reality your suffering big time.

Well David must have been like that today. Yet through strength of character he didn't just go through the motions of playing 90 minutes he was arguably the best player on the park and, as we all who were there today witnessed, ninety minutes means to David just that. To be honest if his final shot had ended up in the canal I'd still have been signing his praises tonight. The fact that David's final shot was hit with such power and precision only further enhances his reputation, something I and most of the support already knew that he's one hell of a professional.

Football's just a game but every so often it throws up moments that display real courage and character. In my mind we just witnessed today one of those rare moments.

Lump in the throat and tear in the eye reading this.

Been here for 30 odd years but that goal and the players celebrations will be forever one of my best memories of thistle.

When Rowser ran over to the stand to hug his mum at the end (well I think it was his mum) it was pretty much the most moving moment of being a Thistle fan - all that aside it was a great goal
