Not sure what I can add to this discussion however i will give my thoughts anyway.

Didnt go on Saturday and was heading home from work as the game was played, got a text from my H*n mate saying it was 1-1..just laughed and thought it was a wind up, got home and to my shock horror it was confirmed..TOTAL EMBARASSMENT!!!

Now then if we give them a doing at Firhill how many people will still be greetin about this score???

Regarding Jackie and Sid I had reserved judgement until now but the league IMO is over yet again before xmas which means crowds will steadily decline from now until the end of the season.

But again who would replace him??

I read with interest as well regarding Hutton, The first 2 games of the season i saw were at home against Dundee and QOS and in both games i thought we were absolutely rank rotten, then the next game I watched Falkirk 2-2 at Firhill I thought we played well and thought Hutton was the catalyst for this.

1-1 against a team who were generally regarded as a sh ite junior team is simply unacceptable the players need to put this right on Saturday.

The question is can they???? The players will be very very nervous about this one and I really wonder if Jackie is the man to fire them up for it? only time will tell, but i think anything less than a victory would spell the end.

Lets wait until Saturday and see what happens, I just hope to god its a victory thread I am posting on!

How long a contract did we give McNamara? I'd like to think it was only for a season. Unless something exceptional happens between now and May we need to look for someone new in the summer.

I don't mind gambling on inexperienced managers but it is just that, a gamble, you need to know when to cut your loses, it's better off to have lost £500 in the casino and walked away from the table than stayed with it for another 2 hours and to have blown your months wages.

Sorry jaggernaut, you and me are usually on the same wavelength, but comparing Rangers fans feelings to drawing with us and our reaction to drawing with a junior outfit that usually attracts less than 100 to their home games is ludicrous. If my fading memory serves me well we have on quite a few occassions beaten and drawn with Rangers over the past 30/40 years. We (at present) are one division below them, we are full time, the same as them. The comparison is ridiculous. As I have said regularly on here, everyone is entitled to their opinion but in the 50 odd years I have been following Thistle, this is, by a country mile, the worst result I can ever remember for our club, but hey, thats only my opinion!

As for Saturday, hope I aint tempting fate here but I think we will hammer them

Spot on.

Absolute nonsense to compare both sets of fans feelings in said games.

Maybe I'm just too resigned to how far Thistle's standing in football has declined over the past few decades. We're not very good at all, and have suffered defeats against many teams that as a youngster I'd never have thought we'd ever play against let alone lose against. We are no longer any kind of "big" player. The stadium shows it, the drifting away of thousands of fans shows it, and the teams that we put out show it. These will all require big changes if they are to be halted or reversed.

In a thread weeks ago I stated that this Cup tie was a banana skin waiting to happen. Yes, it's embarrassing, but honestly, based on the football I've been watching this season, especially when Thistle are away from Firhill, the result is no surprise.

That's why I think that some of the suicidal-like posts are over the top. The manager and the players have the opportunity to get it right next time, having been seriously embarrassed on Saturday. If further embarrassment occurs in the replay, then I might just be contacting Exit myself.

So very true and so very sadly so :(

I have read through the above points with an open mind, but I it is disappointing to see Jags fans having a go at the club and each other.

Saturday was a dreadful result for us, of that there is no doubt...but we are starting to sound like a bunch of Rangers fans with our belief in a God given right to win ties like this. We should be hammering teams like Culter but football doesn't always work like that, it's what makes it a great sport. Bookies would hate it if it did. Let's face it, if Alcorcon can hammer Real Madrid over two legs or Exeter, when they were in the conference, can go to Old Trafford and get a replay, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Culter could get a draw with Partick Thistle.

As a Jags fan, every great moment is usually offset by about ten shockers! While we generally moan about it and have a good grumble, we are usually reasonable minded people, but there is some real bile flying about on this forum. The players didn't turn up on Saturday and fully deserve to be criticised, but some of us need to remember it's only a game!

I for one applaud Culter - they fought hard and deserved their replay and I look forward to welcoming them to Firhll this Saturday. As for Thistle, if we beat Culter and win the next two matches (which knowing Thistle we could), all of a sudden most folk will be full of the joys of spring again.

Come on folks, please, let's get behind the team!!

If they dont finish it on Saturday, McNamara should be sacked. If we dont win very comfortably he is leaving himself open to more abuse. Depite tearing what little hair I have left over the 2011 incarnation of Thistle, I am pretty sure we will win very comfortably on Saturday. If pressed for a score I reckon we will score at least 6 against them

What does sounding like a bunch or Rangers fans mean? Run that one by me, I can't grasp what Rangers or their fans have to do with this?

Absolutely hee-haw. But as soon as you dare to criticise the current manager you're labelled u currant bun. Like when folk criticised McCall they were labelled tims. Dare to share the opinion that you're unhappy with current form you are immediately compared to either or both sets of ugly sisters fans.

You will believe there's nothing wrong. We will ridicule and belittle and ostracise you until you comply with our opinion that all is absolutely fabby at Firhill.

But then I live in a fantasy land. To be ignored. So don't pay any heed. Just keep smiling and clapping into oblivion.

Cant see it being 6 based on what we saw on Saturday and also in other recent games but am sure it will more comfortable. It wasnae very good on Saturday but the abuse the players took at full time was rather brutal and a bit OTT. Confidence is low just now but was this not the same starting 11 bar one that started the season playing some great stuff against a Celtic X1 worth a few more bob than anybody we will play this season??!!

Think the team need the fans behind them and Jackie Mac needs at least a full season to be properly assesed...

Stick with it guys and keep the faith! :D
