kearny_jag
Only 6 first division teams will be involved in Mondays draw...is this always the case? And does anyone know how they were selected? Â I thought the third round was traditionally when all the teams including the premier league joined in. Think where I can see you and others getting confused is that the 3rd round was indeed when the last teams entered the tournament. That tho' was the last 32, which is still the case and it's just that with more teams eligible there's an extra round these days.

Ancipital
Since 2007 when the juniors came in, the 3rd round has been where the second and some of the first division clubs come in and the 4th where the SPL teams come in. The difference this year is that the rounds have been moved a month earlier so the SPL teams will be in before Christmas. Â And the final is a Sunday now (cheers, monseuir Platini)
G SUS
With the next round of the cup being played on 3rd November, it will be Thistle's earliest start to a Scottish Cup campaign since 1890/91. We have played in the Scottish Qualifying cup earlier than this, but that's not the proper tournament.
Jaggernaut
Hmm, I see that Stirling Uni are playing Bonnyrigg Rose in today's round. What would happen if we were drawn away to the uni in the next round? Their synthetic pitch is surrounded by a wire fence, and that's it. Â It would, firstly, be down to the Police to if they could play it there. Secondly, the uni may choose to "cash in" and hold at Albions ground, thus allowing as many PTFC fans to travel as they want. Â But we'll climb that fence when we get to it. Steven H
Clachnacuddin away would be fabby. Or Rangers (not to be mistook for Sevco Rovers). Or Any other highland league team.
Lin1876
Part of my says Edinburgh City away would be nice, namely because it would kill three bird with one stone (a good day out, winnable match, and I could visit some friends there). It's offset by the horrors of Meadowbank though. Â Failing that, anyone we haven't played recently would be fine.

Pie Of The Month
I usually want an away tie but with the amount of away games in the next month or so plus a big game against Dunfermline the following week I'd like the easiest home tie possible. Armand2
Could have been quite a tricky tie if it had been away. I would imagine we will have too much for them at Firhill but not taking anything for granted after Culter.
