Celtic Game: Match Day Experience.

Had a great matchday experience. Our Main Stand tickets turned out to be for the City End but we wanted to be at the North Stand End - which is what we asked for when we bought the tickets.

Took our issue to a steward and she put us in touch with her supervisor who listened patiently to our story, and then escorted us to the North Stand End. Couldn't have been happier.

And of course that allowed us to be right in the thick of the action between us and the police/stewards. Was actually very angry at them filming us and was also very angry that there was more of them at our wee section than at the whole of the North Stand.

Yeah the main stand was rawking yesterday and loved every minute of it. Didn't go to the bogs but I would imagine that it might be against the law not to have washing facilities in a toilet where up to 2000 fans may be located. Frankly disgusting and the club need to get the toilets all over the ground up to scratch

Potty trained I fail to see how it could take anyone any more than a couple of minutes to find their seat in the jhs. Theyre all well signed at each vomitory and numbers easily visible

You n me both. We are in block 4, right in the first when you walk out into the stand, he spoke to various stewards pointing to his ticket looking at seat numbers, at one point he was getting directed to the other side of hospitality... Then he reappeared and was getting directed into the first few seats of block five infront of the gantry.

Genuinely took him and the stewards half an hour to find him and his boys seats.

It was very odd to have a squad of polis down the front of the Main Stand staring up at us all game yet absolutely nothing happens when a smoke bomb is let off (twice) down the front of the North Stand. Now why are the polis closely monitoring supporters who have no history of crowd trouble/flares/singing banned songs/breaking seats whilst largely ignoring the away fans who do it most places they go to?

friends in high places who are happy to turn blind eye and ear to all their activities and utterings. add in friends in low places (their own stewards) who are equally blind and deaf (home or away). add a unhealthy arselicking media to this toxic mix. chuck a perceived (by these high and low places friends and media) wee diddy team like us. and top it off with the some cherrys from our boardroom who are more than willing to pander and fawn at either of the arse cheeks, and not make a stand against either. and you end up with the complete imbalance of yesterday uber.

Overheard a guy questioning a polis next to the hospitality area at half time about the tims in hospitality waving scarves and jumping around/gesticulating towards Jags fans after they scored the first. Polis was saying they couldn't do anything about it as it was the stewards responsibility up until a point where something happens that requires their involvement. The guy said they were going to end up inciting trouble and the polis said "unless the stewards tell them otherwise, the hospitality crowd can do what they like".

case in point.

the prosecution (or is it defence) rests m'lud.

My wife came along to the game and have been to many games in the past. She was annoyed that there were only two caterers in the Main Stand. They were so slow to the point that it seemed like it was almost intentional and as if they could not be bothered. She felt the game had a horrible atmosphere, although she understands why. She felt the police seemed to be a bit aggressive in their manner towards fans.

It's a shame, because it was so unlike the usual family friendly atmosphere.

I was in Jackie Husband Stand at the City End and the atmosphere was fine. Far enough away from the Celtic fans to be bothered about them. I think the club should make this the family and youth area and have it strictly segregated so only kids with guardians are allowed in there with various family things going on. The fans in the Main Stand next to the North Stand looked to be similar to the Dunfermline fans at our last home game of the season who were more concerned with the opposition fans than the game.. Stewards and police were there as they must have felt they had to be.

Was in the main stand being given a ticket there from my central NS seat , with the choir , why were we not allocated seats in the middle of the main stand ? And yes , the choir section was too close to the smell and was more intent on them than the game itself, a bit distracting at times but I concentrated on the game , anyway , enjoyable day out minus the FT score, wish we had a rich benefacor though and pull the MS down to build a new one in its place , its way past its sell by date !!

Be careful what you wish for. Propco plans to demolish the main stand and replace it with tiny one. Hopefully, these plans being revised. My preference would be for bigger one to hold the singing section and new changing rooms. It could even have the German style terracing.

I'd prefer to have a stand similar to the north stand at the city end. Then I wouldn't mind so much what they did with the main stand, as long as it wasn't just a wall......
